will my (and other skills) ship become unavailable after my ulimitid acces period expires ?

Yes, if you had a War Frigate (for example) and went back to basic, your War Frigate would be "locked" until you went back to unlimited again. Same with your weapons, skills, quests, etc.

Before dropping to Basic - make sure you have a Light Ship in your list (Light Sloop, Gal or Frigate) so when your other ships are locked you still have one ship to use.

Weapons usually just drop to L7 functions, which may / may not be helpful depending and cannot obtain more REP.

Your Pirate can only get more REP from Drops (paintings, treasures) if they are over L12 (some pirates have made L14-15 from Drops alone - but its a long process).

I tested this the other day, it seems they have made it so you can sell one of your larger ships and buy a smaller one should you have forgotten before going basic.
