Enemy ships getting stronger?
It seems to me that enemy ships have become much stronger. For example, I was just sailing and this warlord spawned on top of me and sunk me with 1 broadside.
This should not be happening on a war galleon when you are in green health. Has anyone else noticed this? :sadmh9: |
So, just to be clear, you were on a war galleon, in green hp, and a warlord spawned and killed you in one broadside?
If that's the case, then idk, but last night, I was sailing, and a Harbinger took a quarter of my hp on a WF with like two broadside of fury. I can only offer this. See if you can replicate the incident, take a screenshot with F9 unless you have another program, then send it to Big D. |
The Harbingers are definitely firing their broadsides faster as of late.
As for the EITC, don't forget some carry explosive and I've been nailed because once a Corsair glitched and I never saw the explosions! I was getting pounded from the aft and didn't catch on until my beloved Destroyer was hemorraging water. |

Yes, that is correct. Not sure how I can show what happened without a gif. Well, another one attacked and put me in yellow even though I had nearly full health :mybadki6: Edit: Another warlord sunk me. I officially hate them. They're wayyyyyy underated -_- |
I know if you are to close to a responding ship that they go much faster and stronger. Pirates used to just sit there and sink the Jugg over and over without getting hit so they made that.
|
A Corsair sunk me just as it did Eliza: the Corsair and some other EITC warships are the deadliest ships in the game. A broadside of theirs is unmatchable anywhere.

I use guerilla warfare... sort of...
All I'll do is go in front of(or behind) a ship and do broadsides, never letting them get me. I can go through twenty to fifty ships without getting hit once. That's only if I don't dock. I usually knock out the sails of enemy ships with my cannons. I'll let the front of the enemy ship be near the end of the compass and then I'll start using lightning. I'll only use five and then I'll use round shot to take out the rest of the sails. This really helps me when I need to level up my cannons. Also, I've been doing this because I'm afraid of some enemy ships.(Yep, I admit it.) Isn't there a bug where when an enemy ship is near you when they spawn, it will do extra damage to you? My war frigate was sunk by a Corsair in two broadsides because I went by it when it was spawning. That's why I've been using a form of "guerilla warfare". Hit them when in firing range, run away, hit them, etc... |
I have noticed an number of enemy NPC ships using Explosive, that were not previously. Very dangerous to get within range of explosive with those ships.

Have I been seeing lvl 40+ ships or am I crazy?
Anyway, I think some ships are getting stronger. You just have to take them from distance, have them keep coming close to you, then sink them. I've always wondered how EITC ships have firebrand broadsides and why we couldn't have them... You just have to maneuver the ship correctly (i.e: Stop, then when you see the enemy firing broadsides move forward so they miss.) because the enemy always wants to rob you from your royal chests! |
Didn't say sunk, League... just taking on water. :) Oh, they paid the price for scratching my baby's paint!
But, I think the changes of placing so many high-levels in certain area was to giving more experienced crews a bigger challenge. The ETC took out a plunder crew last night and we waded right into the cluster of Omens and Behemoths off KH.... nice plunder there to be sure. |
stronger ships
I personally think they have done something to the ships. Sailing and sinking until recently used to be a lot easier. Now I find EITC Behemoth and Corsairs use their explosive shot a LOT more and you don't always see it til you are being pounded by it. They also seem to have the power to shoot their cannons over the back of their hulls sometimes and they all seem a lot faster through the water. I welcome this as sailing was becoming a little mundane and easy. Now you have to keep your wits about you if you are going in close. All the more fun too. I say make it even harder as most times when going up against the bigger ships you will also be in a bigger ship.

Perhaps the enemy ship levels and such have been reset by accident, or possibly by all of the sunken EITC Ships of late been broken. Either way, Pirates needs to step up and do something about this unless they're making God Ships that have 10x as much power as the War Ships. Yet they would find a way to mess them up, so we have no true need for them either. We also need something done about ships spawning out of our booties, they should have a 20 second truce period if you are withing the ships reach, and it should allow you to get out of the ships way. But when you fire at the ship, the truce is broken, and they can shoot at you like mad.

There is a delay when ships spawn on or near you (although its a very small delay you can usually get a broadside in). A good captain should be ready for anything (unless away from the wheel getting cannon rep hehe!).
It's good that they have changed their patterns. It was getting too easy to go out and easily sink the big ships. I now prefer to take out a crew (anyone welcome to join my crew :D) and get in amongst the big ships. You get a bit of damage but so far I havent visited Davy Jones! LOL :erti078: |
Well I would say that the weapons have been stronger recently but its easier to sink them via broadsides. I was using my War Galleon between canjeros and de porc, nice Navy Monarchs there and french flagship, also there is a couple of warlords and death omen. Anyway... get the flagship no bother, then warlord outta nowhere, went from green to red in 2 single cannon hits from distance! I hightailed it, decided that using lightning bolt from distance as revenge is best. Then I hear hit and then I'm sunk. Fine, went on War Frigate, find the warlord and blast him with one broadside! Maybe a glitch, but most def ships are nastier now.

Ok, here's the question. ARE YOU GUYS MASTERED AT SAILING, OR LOWER LEVEL?
I do NOT see how 1! stupid Warlord can sink a warship in 1-2 hits. I fight warlords and when they hit me, I just lost || health. Are you guys low level players asking their higher level friends ( no offense wanted ) to use their warships and then just let them get beat? Honestly, not saying your all liers ( but I'm thinking it... ), but it sounds too impossible unless: 1: Your a noob driving a warship. 2: Your a noob driving a Light Sloop/Galleon/Frigate 3: You get 2 Warlords against you. 4: Your not trying to dodge. |
