We Need a New Pirate Cancellation Forum
 
A one stop place for all the pirates who are cancelling their subscription to Pirates Online to post when and WHY they're leaving. There's very little love for Disney out there right now after their latest round of "updates" and I think it's CRITICAL that they get an eyeball full of all the money they're losing because of their stubborn refusal to back out horrible decisions like removing the tab between linked accounts feature.

I sent an actual letter (you guys remember paper and stamps right? anyone? lol) to Disney informing them some of their recent updates are making the game MORE dangerous for children to be online with Disney. My parent account is linked to my children's so I can hop online and make sure they're having a fun and SAFE time. Until this month, I could go wherever they were and have access to everything they did using one of the other Unlimited characters under my sons' accounts. Now I have to pay for yet another subscription to be able to do that? That's total shenanigans and I'm calling them on it...or I should say I already did. You know what they're response was? Here it is...

A very well thought out response from Disney. I like how it addressed your concerns specifically, instead of silly things like warning that you'll miss out on larger, more powerful ships. I am also impressed that they were so helpful in letting you know exactly HOW to cancel.

I agree with you. Bah.

When I cancelled the service, the customer service girl asked me WHY I was cancelling and I said "because of the..." and she finished my sentence "tabbing between linked accounts?" They're getting inundated with complaints and are experiencing thousands of cancellations. The game is dead and it would appear they're going to quietly let it come to rest by Xmas this year in preparation for the next big movie/game franchise. Oh well...it was fun while it lasted.

We called the first day after the updates to cancel our two paid accounts, and when we told the nice lady why we were doing it, she said she was expecting this, and had been warned that it would be a bad day. That tells me that they knew before the update that people would be upset and canceling, and they went ahead with it anyway.

To me, it was just one more sign that they are completely aware of what we want from the game, and they just don't care.
