Founders Association?
 

I've noticed that on the POTCO site some people will do this...

<Insert name> ~Founders Association~ <Insert Guild name>

So what does that mean? I've heard of this Founders Association before but what is it? Is it something that members came up with to say they were founders of their guild?

There is a group of founding Pirates that have made the Founders Association Guild. If they have pirates in other guilds, they mention that as well. That's all it is ;)

So does Disney know about them. By that I mean have they ever mentioned them anywhere?

The Founders Association is not an official group or guild sponsored by Disney/Potco.
Disney/Potco has never mentioned them, "The Founders Association" is just a guild like any other guild (with a very official sounding name).

Since this topic is something I am directly involved in, and, I can see that it needs a bit of clarification for the edification of all my Pirate Mates, after all, we do not want to see misinformation spread and mislead anyone, so perhaps I can respectfully shed some accurate light here on just a few opinions that have been lent here.

To one of your questions, of what is this and what does it mean?…--->“<Insert name> ~Founders Association~ <Insert Guild name>” The Founders Association gladly sees the names of Associated Guilds promoted, and does not exclude any guilds that live by the code as set by the Overseers of Disney Pirates. Also, order of position in the before mentioned question just to say, regarding the guild listed first or association is irrelevant and at the discretion of the Association member.

Just to let you know, (and others, of course) the Founders Association is not a guild at all but rather, it is a Association of Founders from all over the Caribbean, uniting in one purpose and representing many different Guilds. I love your term though,..… it sure does sound Official.. hehe…. We are all connecting with the Game we so love aren’t we?


Now,.. with that said,….
There is a “Founders Guild”… it is a guild that I have started, it is a secondary Guild of sorts in that many
well known and seasoned Pirates usually place their alter ego’s in. (secondary Pirates)

So,.. Are we known by Disney…? oooh,.. good question.?.... I would assume so my friends, seeing I hear, as do you Mates, that they carouse the forums sites just like this one. Perhaps they are hearing and seeing it in this setting as well?


Lastly, as for Disney mentioning us.…hmmm……?... :bookishfj7:

I've been playing the game for OVER 16 months, have 4 fully mastered pirates on one account, and am running on the second account. NOT a Gold Name Disney pirate founder, I do admit, but nowhere near a noob, and whatever you said in this thread has totally muddied the waters as to what this supposed "Founders Association" really is.

I HAVE heard of the "Founders Association", but have never seen nor heard of any Disney sponsorship, or interaction, with said organization.

If not a guild, what is it? Is it restricted to Founders of the game? Is it open to pirates/players of certain achievement? Is it an elitist club? Is it even anything at all other than a name?

Couching posts with riddles and misdirection does nothing to clarify any question that anyone may have.

Achilles, while that does give me a boat load of information, can you clarify yourself a bit more?
I realize it's not a guild now, but is it restricted to just Founders, like others have asked?

I sure haven't missed anything since I've been playing since beta 2 and played the game the first day it came out.

Wat excatly is the point of this "Founder Assoication''? I mean what does it do and why would we need it? Is it just another extention of the Founder Brethern?

It doesn't, and this thread is going nowhere.

Simply put, the FA is a group of founding pirates from several guilds, some not in guilds, that have a fan site.
