Old game picture that hints at ship customization
 

If you look at the picture below you'll notice that the Frigate/War Frigate has a picture of a skull on it. I believe that skull is now a tattoo. Does anyone else besides me think that ship custmoizated could be closer than we think? If we can put pictures of skulls on ships just like we do with tattoos, then how far away are we from ship customization?

If the flag pictures are similar to tattoos then I'm actually surprised that we don't have ship customization yet. I know this is a really old screenshot but I thought it was interesting.

wow, maybe its a island that will come later. I like it, as well as the ship thing too.

Back when the tortuga tours where going on, I remember GM Xavier Hench saying to look for ship customization within the next 30 days =/

I don't even know what it's like to make a game but I bet it's hard for them to put in ship customization. There would be so many elements in ship customization. There would be the different flags, placement of masts, placement of windows, different types of cannons, etc...

If they're working on the second story quest, the kraken, and ship customization then they've got their hands full. For all we know ship customization won't be around for another year or two.

If it were up to me I would be working on different ship classes with ship customization. The more ships to customize the better.(IMO) I bet there might even be decorations so we can make our frigates look like the Flying Dutchman. I'd also like to see the black pirate flags with skulls and crossbones.

P.S. I don't know if the devs are going to add this in but shaping the ships would be awesome. Then, like our own pirates, our ships could be very unique. You could have the front as big as the back, front bigger than the back, etc... I don't care how long it takes for ship customization to come out, as long as it's huge.

Dont trust xavier, He said during the second GM event the kraken would come on the "shores of new years day"

Well, in the phase files, there are multiple cannon types, as well as different sail types. They were in 5 if I remember.

Xavier has been a bad GM...

I would not go blaming any individual GM. They only say what they are allowed to say.
Xavier may be being given a bad rap for just passing along the bad information he was given.

Im sure ship customization was part of their plan from the beginning. However probably more so in the way of adding images to the sails like the old picture suggests, and probably not as comprehensive as some of the many suggestions on ship customization we have seen.

If anyone wants me to, I can post pics of the cannons I found, but I give no guarantee to the quality. The file pics are grainy, kinda.

^TC, no need to waste your time. I have pictures of the cannons that I already uploaded into the gallery.

Toontown is currently using a version of panda that isn't out yet. I'm guessing POTCO is to, so accessing the phase files may not be possible at this point in time.





The skull cannon may not be a part of ship customization. I think it would make more sense for them to keep it exclusive to skeleton ships.

It may also be possible that the different cannon types can mean they're more powerful. I would think that the big heavy cannon would do a lot of damage.

Something else to think about - there was a ton of stuff I'm sure during the development phases that just didn't work or were scrapped. So, we can probably find a bunch of pics from stuff we may never see. But, it is interesting to see their ideas.
