may have broken almost even rule naming my pirates...

I just went for the quadruple rule break and made it!

But I just got a name approved that breaks 3!

Anne Dieu-Le-Veut

1) No historical names (This has been passed alot, but still)
2) No foreign languages (Dieu- le-veut is French for what god wants)
3) No religion in the name (God.)

And it went through first try :) pretty rocking if you ask me! :laughks2:

Heh, pretty funny. I should try to name a pirate Walt Disney de' God of Mickey Mouse...lol

jason davy 06-12-2009 12:50 PM

Disney: the god of inconsistency. ;)

Liz Fireburn 06-12-2009 03:43 PM

Disney really needs to make up their minds lol!
As for historical names I got Bonnie Parker passed, not sure if that really counts but she is one of the most famous historical criminals. :)

I have seen many historical names in the game. I believe it all depends on which reviewer comes across reviewing your name request. Keep trying a name, eventually it gets into the hands of a more relaxed 'reviewer' who grants it.

They let me name my last pirate "Dread Pirate Mike Eisner". Was surprised.

I'm sure even a relaxed 'reviewer' knows that some words are unacceptable. I doubt anyone that's submitted an obvious inappropriate name has got it. There's still a chance, though.

mmm, wonder if names such as 'GM Administrator', 'noob' or maybe 'this game sux'
then to finish 'Honest Peter' then find out if disney has rejected all 4.

To be honest, I've never heard of the "famous" people you guys have listed above. They're probably just not wanting people to be calling themselves King James, or Elvis Presley, or ... Wat Tyler. Those are really bad examples ...

I was assuming it was one of those that had no issues with appropriateness, that were being turned down. Had no intention of implicating they might approve an inappropriate name. I was mainly trying to point out why there appears to be an inconsistency in names that are approved.

Oh, no offense.

I was just trying to say that it would be unlikely for an inappropriate name to go through. When I said there was a chance, I wasn't lying. (If only there was a rolling eye smiley that looked angry)

Inappropriate names have gone past toontown reviewers before. It's amazing how many bad names can enter the game undetected. It's pretty sad that some reviewers actually let these names get through. I'm surprised some of these people are even part of the disney company.

i deleted this pirate a while back because i didn't want to get banned.

but initially, i did get the name 'dog tinmad' passed.

which, of course, if you reverse the words is a swear.

but once i realized that i could get in trouble for it, i deleted it.

now looking back, i'm surprised it ever went threw.

Stephen O'Malley 07-09-2009 08:40 AM

On Toontown, you can get away with whatever name you want by simply typing in Alt+1620 and then typing whatever you want as your name. I haven't tested it here, but I can imagine the same concept working......

Gorams 07-13-2009 09:39 PM

I named a pirate Robert Plant after the lead singer of Led Zeppelin... I'm not sure if that's against the rules lol

Mysticalmage 07-20-2009 02:00 AM

lol dog tinmad sounds actualy LIKE a pirate name so i see why that went threw

for some reason Mysticalmage didnt go threw for several days but finaly it passed... and i have Evil Pirate Dan Rather it was funny that they passed it

and guess what...

Ive got a jar of dirt! And guess whats inside it!
