Future of Pirates *Look at your own Risk*
I couldn't exactly say future of Pirates Online, but apparently we're going to be getting another Pirates of the Carribbean game in the next years or so. The graphics look rather good and the game seems to be rather smooth, who knows, they may even have less lag. But it looks as if it will be a rather fun and interesting game to check out.

Say what now? Where did you hear about this at? Is it Pirates of The Caribbean (Disney owned) or just another online game that deals with pirates? There has been a giant influx of online multi-player games since the success of World of Warcraft, but most of them are just cruddy knock offs of Age of Empires and lure you in with insane front page title graphics...then follow up with game play that might as well be blue dot vs red dot. I would like to know more about what youre talking about; please share the information that you are speaking of in some more detail.

Apparently the game is set back in a time before the movies, but who's to say that doesn't let us cross paths with Captain Jack and Barbossa. This game is also a build-your-own character game, and you could quite possibly build your owns ships and also meet enemies you never heard of.
Not assured if there is an online multiplayer at the moment, but I am thinking that they may add that in after E3, but I was really glad to see something Pirates-related on the E3 Gaming List. I am also looking forwards to seeing more ship builds after E3 as well, but we can't really find out much about the game until somebody has played it, and I'm thinking it's going to have a demo at E3, which means we may figure out more about the game. |
The whole time setting is probably going to be the thing that entices people to play the game. Because the game's set before the three movies, I think it's going to be better than the movie games. If the gameplay looks fun, I'm certainly going to buy it.

"PS3, Xbox 360 and PC game"
So, while it may have online multi-player capabilities, it isn't a MMORPG, and probably won't be a game that is "competing" with POTCO. The game does look interesting though. |
I hope well for ship customization of some sort, that way Disney will have experience with making a ship customization system. I know that this game will be really good compared to the movie games, and I am definitely sure it will have a killer plot judging on the undead guy in the picture. I am just wondering if Barbossa is searching for his doubloons at the time of the game, and also wonder if you have one yourself...

Interesting to say the least, but I'm already swamped in speculations of other-yet-to-be-released or long-awaited games. Maye the action will be like the game that came with World's End, which was decent. The way they talked about ship combat really sounded great.

I read the whole article yesterday night. Its going to be for the future consoles. (No not Wii) this game will NOT be a MMO it will be a RPG (Role Playing Game). I don't think Im the only one with an Xbox or any other next gen consoles (Im sure that everyone here has a computer LOL). There has not been a game yet that's Online Capabilities that rival with MMOs.
I have high hopes for this game online capabilites look fun and the story sounds pretty fun. I think it would be pretty cool to have this have "Codes" to get special stuff in POTCO. In all in all I can't wait to see what Disney has in store for this game. :) |
Can someone PM the link since it got deleted.

Just because the game has the D-Word in it too....
Look for Pirates of the Caribbean Armada on Google and you'll find something. Sorry, but I don't make the rules for this site, but since it's sorta Pirates related I would think they'd just get over the PG parts. |

Anyway, back on topic. The game does look interesting but I don't see it as a competitor to POTCO (especially since it's backed by Disney). As said before it's not an MMORPG, but an open-world RPG (where gameplay/progress is not limited to a traditional linear progression). It is interesting and relieving to see another pirate-themed game that's not just a licensed and quick throw-together game based on a movie. |
For one thing im surprised that Disney allowed the use of the word Damned in a title of their game. Second it sounds good but I would have to wait until other people review it before I buy it, especially after POTCO. What catches my eye was this one sentence i read. "Armada of the Damned puts players in the role of a pirate, and incorporates “numerous moral and character choices” that will affect the game's story and world."
|
The morality of certain choices influencing your character certainly sounds cool. I've heard of such a thing before in a game called Fable or something of the like. However, the way he described ship combat in the game really sounded great.
On a different note, I liked the Batman: The Brave and The Bold reviews on that site. |

BTW: I bought Fable II yesterday, and it does have a lot of stuff I'd love to see on POTCAOTD. |
