TV Tuners on PC

So I am moving to a new house, and am going to be having a bit of a smaller room to do my gaming, and tv watching in. I am wanting to try to save a little space by running my PC and Cable TV all through the same monitor. I found where Tiger Direct has a 42" 1080p HD monitor for sale pretty cheap right now, and I am considering getting that and using it for my monitor. My PC currently does not have a TV tuner built into it, but it sounds like a pretty easy install, but I am wondering how well it works? Does any one reccomend a particular type or brand? How well do the USB plugin type cable connectors work? I wont be having a digital cable signal, just standard cable... And I am running Windows XP Media Center, I know it has a built in TV prgram in it, will that just auto-detect my TV tuner? Just curious on setting this up. I was going to just come out of my VGA output into the monitor, I dont have an S video output. Any help is appreciated.

I have cable running thru my pc and it works great with windows vista media center. It detected the signal and walks you thru the install. It automatically checks listings several weeks out and makes a great dvr for recording shows.
