What ship should I buy??????

Ok, so my original intension when I upgraded my acount was to buy a War Frigate when I had enough money and leveled up. Know I hear some people say War galleons are the best because you can get more cargo on them. I also like to privateer and the best ship for that is the War sloop. Know I dont know which one I should get! I have also heard rumors about ship costomization and am wondering if I should wait for that to come out. But my acount may expire before then and I dont know if I should upgrade once more. POTCO is quite a bit of money and I like to put me birthday dogh in the bank. Please tell me what I should do!!!! :mybadki6:

I was under the impression that War ships couldn't be used once you went back to basic. I have all three. Its hard work but they are worth it. I always favor the Galleon, mostly because I sail alone most or the time. This ship has the most broadsides and the most damage intake, but is the slowest. . If I have a crew the best ship is the Frigate, more crew more cannoneers. Also I think its the most balanced of the three. This allows for attacks on multiple targets. For speed the choice is the Sloop. This ship is ideal for attacking one ship and marooning prisoners. This ship has lower damage intake.

There have been many threads about this. Scan back through the forum, and you can find all kind of advice.

Also, look here, http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/f...getip&p=129157, but this assumes a progression from the beginning of the game, and unlimited access.

Lastly, I believe TSC is correct, if you allow your account to go to basic, you no longer have access to any warships you may have bought. So, keep your light ship, whichever style it may be.

I know, but which one should I actually buy?

Ed,

Bottom line.

War Sloop - Speed and best at Ship vs Ship

War Galleon - More junk in the trunk and most broadsides (24 guns), so its a little better when sailing solo. I happen to prefer my Freebooter Warrior, but that's me.

War Frigate - Best thing for large crew plundering, since it has 14 top side guns and the widest firing angles. Gunners on Galleons can't see aft or foreward and limited angle.

And I do agree that if you know you're going back to free sometime soon, then keep a Light Galleon handy.

Or if you like to do ship pvp a light sloop. Light sloops can be very successful in ship pvp. Lite galleons on the other had have a tough time of it. Depends on your priorities.

Gunners on Galleons having this problem need to find a new sailor for the helm!!!

Although a true statement, a good captain knows how to work around this.
