I hav just returned to POF after being away for quite some time. I am sure this question has been asked several times. How do I go about getting the various rewards?

most of them are event-based. some are given during a special day such as valentine's day. there is one that is given by donating.

thanks you are very helpful. Donating what a great idea, when I get paid next week I give them something.

The award system, as they have both mentioned above, is mostly used for contests, as they are given out as winner and participation awards. However there are 3 ways you can get awards in all. :bookishfj7:

The contests are a great way to win awards, as we have a contest every month! The contests posted on the front page aren't the only contests that give awards out though, you can go for Most 1st place wins in the Arcade, or join us in the #piratetrivia chatroom to make top 10 in chat! If you are in one of those spots when the arcade or trivia are reset, you're a winner!

:easterbunny: Show your holiday spirit!
Sometimes we decide to spread the holiday cheer on the forums with an award you can request, for either yourself or another member. These awards are available to anyone, and only show up for a short time around some holidays. We still haven't decided what holidays the awards will be given out for, so just stay tuned!

:ahoy: Donate!
We also have Donation awards which are given out for those who get a subscription on PiratesOnlineForums.com. When I say subscription, I don't mean the green Donate button in the list under the location tree, but the Subscription option you'll find in your UserCP! This is a great way to support the site as well, as all money from donations and subscription goes to keeping the site up and running. (Besides, you get cool stuff like extra PM space and signatures depending on the subscription you get, and who doesn't like that!)

Is there a way to pick and chose which awards we decide to showcase?

I dont think so TSC, but thats a good idea.

Nope, just the lastest awards you recieved will be displayed. Where as, the awards tab on your profile will display all of them.
