Beware the Fake Boss Battle
 

Some pirates have a weird sense of entertainment and ways of amusing themselves. A few have invented a Fake Boss Battle Game. In this game, these said pirates ask unsuspecting pirates to help in a BB. A crew is formed and invites are sent out. The problem is , they only send invites to a couple of the crew. So these selected crew mates find themselves on the Pearl alone. It is a joke to those that are amusing themselves. Their only error...said pirates spoke in crew chat..."Let's go to another server and see who else we can con". Big mistake for them...the lead pirate was reported by one crew mate who didn't receive an invite. This thread is to warn other pirates that this is going on. Be careful when you decide to aid someone in a Boss Battle. It is a shame, though, that pirates can't find constructive things to do with their time. And this is all at the expense of good pirates who like to help others......:piratealt:

Aye.....this happened to me on one occasion.....fortunately I had 3 other higher levels stranded with me and we actually got through it. The joke was on them. I agree some things are funny, and some a waste of time especially when bending the rules. This sounds like a great April Fool prank.....for April 1st! LOL

I know some people have sent BB requests because they needed them. For instance they would just join the crew and send it without asking people.. Luckily most of me crew denied it. I have yet to have been "tricked" to do BB as of yet...

Once again I am not surprised of the immaturity of some of the people in the game that will go to great lengths to ruin other players experience just so they can get a chuckle.

Yeah, I'm the one that fell for it. We made it almost halfway through, before we sunk. Last time I do BB with anyone I don't know.

Honestly as annoying as it might be to some, as a prank, that sounds pretty mild compared to some of the things I've seen/heard of.

Hey, I wouldn't mind.
Me and my pirate mate sail em for fun on a regular basis - just the two of us. Its a blast. Id sail it, then come back to let em know how much we made. =D

Problem is by the time ya get back they are long gone...

Some make u go into a boss battle then they take u hostage and try to make u join their guild.

lol, My thoughts exactly. My question would be what level pirates do they do this to? If its higher level pirates no big deal. If its lower level ones then its kinda mean, but not as mean as somethings done in the game, but still mean.

I'm with those who say... no big deal. It's fun. So what if someone thinks they're pulling off some evil boss battle plot. Just take the challenge. I mean really, what's the worst that can happen? You end up in virtual jail. If you pull it off, WTG!

It really is no big deal. Been on many a BB...some won and some lost. My problem is that I like to help other pirates whenever I can, as do alot of others. I enjoy helping lower levels advance if I am able. But this kind of activity does tend to put a damper on this in my perspective. Don't mind being a helping hand...that is one of the benefits of having a level 40 pirate...but I do mind feeling duped. But whether others on POF agree with me or not, this thread was just to make others aware. So take what ya want from it and throw the rest away. It is just my opinion. Didn't mean to disparage your post Liz, I do appreciate the heads up. While I don't think its a biggie for experienced pirates, it is a very rude introduction to Boss battles for newer pirates.
