Went from Unlimited to Basic
 

I was recently emailed by Disney telling me they could not process my credit card on file and to call them, so I gave them a call they had an old card number on file and I asked about new content and the nice lady told me that there were a couple new things on the test server, so I replied back I don't want clothes I want content new things to do, She asked me to hold as she was going to check with someone about new things on the horizon. when she came back she said there was nothing new coming up.So I asked her to switch me to basic access and when New Content arrived I would switch back to Unlimited. She said OK and she understood.

Well who knew Disney was so vindictive, First let me say I started basic and went unlimited very soon after so I know what my pirate started with. I am not allowed to wear a hat which came with my original outfit. I no longer have access to my ships any of them not even my my light frigate. Now I know basic access members have at least one ship, I have none and I have no hat they capped some of my skills as I expected but
THEY TOOK AWAY ALL MY SHIPS, HOW CAN I BE A PIRATE WITHOUT A SHIP.
Maybe I'm wrong do basic access members no longer have ships?
oh and I just found out I'm not getting rep for anything I do I went on someone else's ship was using basic cannonball because thats all they left me and everytime a ship sank it would say(+4 basic access) with a bigger (+0) on top of it so I went to padres and killed a couple of veteran's with my sword same thing (+4 basic access) bigger (+0) and my totals did not go up any.
Boy I guess they showed me who's boss.

You will not have access to War Ships....I believe Light Ships only. You will not have access to Dagger, Grenades or Staff. You are limited to what quests can be done. Obviously this is done for a reason....they want you back as a full paying member. If basic offered close to the same options as a paid account, why would you pay? No funding....no updates....no game. We don't want POTC Online to disappear now do we.....?

I think Basic players can only have light sloops and light galleons, which would explain why you couldn't access your light frigate.

Also, I believe there is a lower level cap for Basic players, so if you had already reached or surpassed that cap, you wouldn't be able to level up any more.

I'm curious why they said there were no changes on the horizon. It appears as though there have been steady updates coming as of late, I would hope that isn't about to stop or many of us will lose hope.

Ok, went throught the same thing. However I couldnt afford to go back to unlimited for a few months. Thank God I am unlimited again.
As a basic player, you only have access to a light sloop or light galleon. Yes your weapons skills are decreased and you no longer can use the daggers or nades or staff.

But with these last updates you should be able to create 4 pirates. Previously it was only two for basic access players. And you should also be able to buy clothes and change clothes. I dont understand why you cant wear your hat. May need to contact them again about this.

As for the updates. They have apparently been working on the kraken. On the POTCO website, you can view the concept art of the kraken that is to come. No idea, of course, of when, but it will be here. I am assuming that it will be this year, based upon what the Host GMs have said in the past about big updates for those pirates who are pirate masters coming this year.

Good luck, and remember you can always hop on a public ship, play poker and black jack, and plunder till you heart is content. Seeing the rep isnt increasing much if any, then this be all you can do. I'm sorry, I have been there.

Not sure if its been changed, but last I checked, basic access accounts still could only have 2 pirates, it just looks like you can have 4. When you try to click on the make a pirate button you get a message saying that you have to be unlimited access to do that.

If the hat you were wearing was from a quest or something, then I don't think you could wear it, or if it was the one given out to unlimited access players.

I had gone basic a while ago as well, its not very fun, I quickly switched back to unlimited just to get everything unlocked again. The only reason they lock everything and don't let you level up much is because they want it so that you actually pay for playing. In my opinion, the more they give basic access players, the more they take away from unlimited access players.

I agree....unlimited access players are the ones that keep the game going. Without them the funds would run out...and it will end up like VMK. "POOF"

I think they should give a little more to the basic players because I started out basic to test the game, and everyone I mean alot of people do that. I had some very much needed questions to be awnsered, and I dont think i will get them awnsered so there fore I am not going to upgrade to be an unlimited player because I dont know if its worth it to do so.

they took away my starting hat too idk why. and now my hair is an ugly light brown instead of dark. anyone know about the hat? also I lost that aiming circle did anyone else lose that?

i know! i had to switch back to unlimmited cause i was a lv 36 and i was off it for a while cause of the same reason, there was nothing to do, and then i figured out i cant even change my hair, use all my war ships or anything i was so mad, so i just changed it back not to long ago so i could finish what i started! disney gets on my nerves sometimes!
