Test server notes 2/21/2009

Not sure why they don't bother updating the login message anymore, for minor patches. Well, maybe they never did. Last night's update fixed Murky Hollow's water issues it seems. Also added this:

to which I say, FANTASTIC nice feature! Works for guild title-bar, too.

Another neat improvement: player cards now don't show weapons that players don't have.

I just noticed that....very nice little features continue to arise. WTG Disney!

Also, not sure if its been said or not, but when questing, it shows you the closest target that you need. Needed a few brigands for a quest and in yellow under the tracking thing, it said, closest targets in Rat's Nest. Will try to get a screenie of it, if it hasn't been changed/removed or whatever.

Only thing I don't like is how the avatars are shown now. The game gets uglier and uglier in my opinion =/ That shouldn't be the best way for Disney to improve the client delay / lag.

If they don't make an option to change the look from low to high I'm going to file a complaint.
The one thing they shouldn't mess with is how good the graphics look.

One other change I've noticed today...on two separate occasions today, I was battled down to 1 health point...no poison, no wound, no fire. Just straight hits, got me all the way down to the very last health point. Twice in one day. While that happens regularly when being hit with poison, I've never seen it before with cutlass attacks. Since that's never happened to me before (in the last year) I'm a bit curious about it.

Did they make it harder to die? I'm grateful that I was saved those two trips to jail. But was this a result of an intentional change, or a new bug? (First time was with an Officer 9 levels above me - took forever with doll, second time was an undead quarter master. Both use cutlass.)

Or, do cutlass attacks now wound, without displaying a wound squiggle icon above the health bar? Or, does it wound, but only show up for different graphics settings or something?

Here's a good one for ya. There were two of us in a crew sailing on Test.....got disconnected (unexpected error or whatever it says) while cargo was half full. My buddy that was crewed was disconnected simultaneously. When we signed back in I repaired ship (minor damage). We then boarded my ship and the cargo was still there! Bug or by design as the disconnect is out of our control? I reported that....not a bad idea if by design....imagine having 6 or more royals and getting disconnected....losing everything. Not a happy Captain or crew.

Hate to say it, but that was sorta happening at a common rate maybe a couple months ago. At the time I thought it was a good idea also.

Trouble is, if its the same, you only show cargo on the ship, you dock you get nothing. You continue to sail, that cargo fills up the ship to how much you can get while out.

Nope. Earlier screenshots of the new Tortuga didn't have it.
