Best use of Sailing Skill points?

I am trying to get the most use out of my sailing skill points. I want the most powerful ship that I can, but also one that will earn me lots of money. I would like to see how others have leveled up theirs. If you can tell me why you put them at a certain level also. I have my broadsides and my gold sense maxxed out and think I have at least 2 or 3 in my turning, the others are at 1 or 2. I have thought that I might retrain my sailing if I had good reasons to change them around some. What do you think?

Welp, I've retrained my sailing 5 or 6 times and I'm still not sure I'll keep it. So the only advice I can give with a clear conscience is that Treasure Sense will be useless after a while because you'll have everything you can or would want to buy. But I'll be interested to see some builds that people post...

You've mastered sailing? If not, then ONE skill point only, on each thing unlocked (especially broadsides.)

If mastered, one good method for comparing retraining, is too look at the leaderboard or the SvS competition's unlimited winners, then look those pirates up on DxD. You see their exact builds on DxD.

Until Windcatcher is fixed, there is no reason to ever have more than one skill point there. Treasure sense will give you max gold quicker, but once you've been at max gold a while, you'll want those points elsewhere. Full sail, open fire, ramming speed and take cover are very useful in SvS, but you probably want to be a fully mastered pirate, before taking the SvS quests.

Don't bother putting more than one skill point in ramming speed or Come About. Your rarely use Ramming Speed it except for a quick burst of speed and Come about is rarely required. Broadsides are important.. try to make both sides even at the very least. Take Cover is very useful in Boss Battles and when battling high level ships so put a couple there. Other than that it's really at your digression, but definitely try to put at least one skill point in each.. :piratewheelgo2:

sure would be nice if each of your 3 ships could have rep pts allocated separately.

Great points...especially on Windcatcher. I personally have different configurations for each of my pirates and it's still hard to decide what is ideal. For SVS I like having at least 3 in ramming (for ramming and escaping)...(at least 3 in windcatcher - fast maneuvers and escaping)....(2-3 in take cover - which is currently broken).

If you have a great crew and you are a skilled sailor it's all about positioning and maneuvering (to fire and land shots and not getting hit).

My ships of choice for SVS....War Sloop and War Frigate. IMO the War Galleon is too big of a target.

Please fix windcatcher Disney....I still have to test this over the weekend on Test and Open.

Happy Friday the 13th all!
