Location For Magic Training?
 

Ahoy! Where do you go to get the voodoo training so we can use the voodoo doll. The testers near the start didn't need it, but the newer testers when you try to buy a doll it says, "You need voodoo magic training first"

Anybody know where the training place is?

Tia Dalma teaches voodoo, and I found her on Cuba, in the right hand side of the docking cove's swamp entrance.

I'm terrible at directions, but this might help. When you dock, go to the right side of the cove, and there's and entrance into a swamp. Tia is walking around there with some houses. She wouldn't teach me voodoo at level 6 though, so I think you need to be a higher level.

I don't think it's a training place, I think you have to get up to a certain notoriety level to unlock the training. My guess is level 15 notoriety, because apart from the early testers, no one has a voodoo doll, and I've seen some pretty high level pirates out there(not. 10-13). So my guess is that you unlock it at a certain notoriety.

I don't think you can learn voodoo, until u get to that stage of the game quest wise, like Dagger training, i spose that will come up when u have reach a certain skill level.

It will be Tia who gives u this training, she can be found in the swamp on cuba, but she wont give u anything, if u try to talk to her there (at least she didnt when i found her there)

When she gives u the compass, she says she will tell and teach you more, after u have found the black pearl, stands to reason that maybe then, she will u give u voodoo training.

that makes sense... bc dagger quest comes up when you get to notoriety level 8 good points!

Here's something to chew on as far as training... earlier I was playing on a newer pirate that didn't have the voodoo doll but did have the pistol - went to Cuba to raise pistol level by shooting at tree stumps (what a great way to end a long day at work!) and many times when I killed one, I not only got pistol and notoriety points but also health points AND voodoo points - Found that very interesting - maybe you not only need to be at a certain notoriety level but also need to have a certain amount of voodoo points - just a thought... Now, here's another thought/question... I "unlocked" several new skills with this pirate and when I right clicked it would say "click to learn" new skill type of thing - on my older pirates, all I had to do was click on the circle and I had "learned" it - but now, nothing happens... anybody else have this problem? (maybe I should start a new thread?)

Game does extend the length of health and Voodoo bars, when u go up levels, I noticed this before.

Whether this has anything to do with unlocking voodoo, or like health bar, just how long u can do certainly specialist voodo skills, i know not.

However, adding to what I said before, my guess wud be after u get the pearl, Tia probs advices you will need strong voodoo powers to take on some one as powerful in magic as Jolly Roger, or something like that.

On the skills bit, to learn a new skill takes one skill point (gained as u progress the weapons levels), no points no skill upgrade or new skills. Get your to your next level and voila new skill, if u so desire. It's also worth remembering some skills require a certain weapon skill level to activate, altho it shud say this, somewhere, if this was the case.

or here is another idea... you'll have to pay for it. think about it, the earlier you got keys, you got voodoo magic, and they are testing the payed version. i don't have the vood magic and i'm testing the free version... so just something to think about hmm...

I have voodoo on my older pirate that is terribly bugged now. I started playing on April 14, and they were testing the free version with the ad bar. At that time, we were able to buy and equip all kinds of things. But, they took the ability away, so we could not use a different pistol, doll, cutlass, or dagger. I think they will add it back through quests, like the dagger quest. On my new pirate, I am almost level 18 notoriety, but have not received any other weapon quest except for the dagger.

wow - level 18 - pretty cool - - I don't know anything about paying to test - I started long ago when there were ad bars and still have two older pirates - don't want to delete them because using the voodoo is so fun ALTHOUGH using the venom shot with the pistol is pretty cool too. Anyway, I never paid - got my key from Disney - so I don't think that really has anything to do with testing in Beta.
