Crew Matching won't stop glitch

I found a crew by crew matching earlier. The crew-head got booted, but several of us remained in crew, including the crew-head, marked as "disconnected." At that point, crew matching went nuts, trying to find me a new crew. Couldn't turn it off from LOOKOUT as I was already in a crew so it was grayed out. Had to relog THEN go to LOOKOUT turn FIND A CREW on then OFF for it to finally deactivate (found many crews that I had to click NO to, just to get lookout to open.)

To everyone else that has experienced this: is this only when the crew-head drops? Or are there other causes? It's highly annoying. (I can't imagine how bad, if you don't know to go back into LOOKOUT to turn it on then off again to make it stop.)

Also, when you say YES to any of the crews offered, it leaves you in the original crew and keeps asking.

Was that on live or test? I think some of that got straighten out a bit on last test build. Not same circumstances, but I know crew leader was having issues and seems to work right now on test. To at least the point the next highest level takes over crew.

Just an off question - if your in a crew (non-head) and you disconnect, can you re-join if you get back on?

Just asking as noticed in a crew last night that one dropped - but not from crew (disconnectted displayed). If they came back - would it re-crew automatically? Would this be part of the issue with what happened to you (being head of crew - it got confused?)

I have noticed on several occasions that although the "crew-head" gets disconnected (either offline or different server) he not only stays in the crew, but remains the crew-head, making it so the crew can not get any new members! Since the DISCONNECTED leader is gone, and we can't boot him or invite new crew members, I have personally found the new crew setup to be useless. Well, not useless... but it has certainly ticked me off on a number of occasions.

Well - it sounds like in trying to do something good (allowing a dropped player to be automatically re-crewed) they messed up Head Crew Transfer - if thats how its working now :)

We seem to be talking about two areas here first of all, test different than currant live. Live I think is still messed up with leader leaving crew leaving it stranded.

Test though, I think, leader is straighten out when they leave, the questions is perhaps on disconnects and how long they are staying. I have seen lately on test people coming back from a disconnect and entering back automatically to the crew. There is a option for crew master to click the x box and remove them from crew though when disconnected/ not responding to crew invite.

This happened to me once on live late last week I think, but I have not joined a crew yet on test to see if it would happen there too. I don't remember if the crew head was disconnected, but it's possible that was the case. I did send a report in when it happened, and I intend to watch for it next time I end up in a crew. I was in a crew on live today without this problem, but that's not to say it could not have happened.

Max, yes, when I reconnect, I'm automatically added back into the crew I was in.

Yes, this was on open, not on test, but I've seen similar behavior on test, which is why I noted what happened this time, more carefully.

Not only is this messed up with the crew issue, but there is another. I've had issues with people just adding to my crew uninvited. Seems that when you ask a friend or a guild member to crew, it automatically opens the crew search. I dont like this personally. This I think needs to be looked at also. I've had to hit t he lookout button under my pirate name in the upper left to close the lookout after crewing a friend, just so some random pirate doesnt join my crew again.

Yes, the instant you start a cew now, crew matching is activated for you. Under your notoriety circle is the telescope icon - clicking it will put a slash through it, indicating that crew matching is deactivated. I wouldn't mind a personal "options" thing, to set it the way you want by default, but I have found the "automatic-on" to be a tremendous improvement.
