Mac Graphic Problems (Updates)

After the January 30th updates, I've been having some major graphic issues. And of course, reporting them to Disney is useless. They actually responded to one of my reports with instructions... FOR PC. Mac people, are you having these issues? If not, do you know how to fix them? I'll post a couple screenies below...

I do not even have the graphic options on my new launcher. I re-installed the game, and still no graphic options on the launcher.

The most noticeable graphic flaws in-game are on ships (as seen below) but there are similar graphic issues elsewhere as well. At times it seems to reflect other things in the game, and at times it reflects other things on my computer such as my internet browser...? (You can see the mozilla firefox icon on the eitc ship below.)

DANG IT. After logging in tonight (02/04) I experienced some even more incredible graphic flaws. My friend Jade (also a Mac user) says she is experiencing the same graphic issues as of today.

Note below, the compass, the friend thing, the weapon stats, the right icons... and there's probably even more...

If anyone has any information or solutions, PLEASEEE post. These issues don't TECHNICALLY hinder my game-play but they are insanely annoying.

You have a entirely different set up than I do with windows xp, so I can't be a lot of help.

I can tell you this much though, mac users were completely out of test for like a week, and having some extreme problems. Only thing I could recommend is hitting F7 and trying to adjust graphics and display to lower settings than perhaps what you are using.

The graphic option is probably not showing up because you have a mac, and there basically is no option, you can't switch to different directx options.

You might run through some of the old tech posts and see if mac people were doing anything like the pandadx write ins we did for windows. The best bet is likely to keep hounding potc tech support and send pic's etc with reports.

Lol, I can assure you Disney will hate me for all the reports I'm sending in... if they don't already. :laughks2:

No decent responses so far, like I said, they seem completely oblivious to the fact that my reports all say Model: MacBook.

But I'll keep pestering them, no doubt. And in the meantime, I'll just hope (against my better judgment) that Disney is working on a fix for these. ;)

hmmm, not sure as to why... one of my friends in game admitted to being a long time Mac user but said his graphics were fine.

I like how you say he "admitted to being a long time mac user." :laughks2:

But on the topic... hmm...

Did he check after today's updates? Also, I wonder what his f7 graphic settings are. Mine are all on high (like they were before the updates) but I experimented with low as well, and encountered the same problems.

But that's 2 Mac users that are having issues and 1 that isn't, so maybe he just got lucky, or just knows what he's doing. ;)

By that I simply meant he said he has been using Mac for a long time...

And I haven't seen him since.

I am having the very same issues. This is before and after the latest maintanence shutdown. When I first logged on and saw all the symbols/graphics from the test server, I asked another high rank founder who happened to be standing nearby if she saw the same things --- nope. Including the 2x rep point symbol we both had beside our names.
Can't read the compass, sea chest graphics are blurred, skill command buttons are hard to read, etc etc etc.

I'm glad some of you guys are having the same issues as well. Not that I'm glad your game looks screwy... you know what I mean. ;) I'm glad it's not just me. Hopefully Disney will hop on these issues, and quick.

Klongshot 02-06-2009 02:31 AM

I'm sending reports

Same issues here. Used Macbook and iMac that was working OK before "update". Nice, they say "talk to apple" lol . Come on Disney a little code adjustment plz

No way. They did NOT say talk to Apple....... OMG.

You know, we'd all be a lot better off if Disney would actually admit it was WRONG every now and then.

And I mean, come on, seriously. How often do you have a problem with your Mac? As a general rule, if something is wrong on my Mac, I assume it has nothing to do with my actual computer being messed up.

Not to mention, it was only AFTER the "updates" that all this mess happened.

Disney better fix this....

Yeah, I've had my mac for about 6 months and have not had a single issue (well, slight issue when I tried putting VISTA on it)... generally they're waayyy more stable than Windows computers.

Anyway, I have screenshots from the day before the updates that are just fine - after the updates, there's issues. But at least now I can use my dagger, LOL.

I've had my Mac about the same amount of time, and the only problems I've had with it have involved Pirates Online. There's no way in heck I'd try to put Vista on here- I was even hesitant to install Office. I have a (completely reasonable) phobia of all things bearing the name "Microsoft." lol :dancetl6:
