Unable to Login!

Second day that I am unable to login to PotC. Went through a marathon chat today and they are not able to resolve the issue. If it keeps up beyond tomorrow or Monday, I may end my longrunning string of hanging out with the BBK and move on.

Take it easy, crew, I am bummed.

Max. they had an upgrade so it took about a half hour to load first time for me. Please don't leave us. lol We'd miss you.

Still Stuck

I have been to online chat for over an hour, reloaded the whole kitten kaboodle, then am number 152 in the queue with Norton online chat.

I am sure this will be resolved at some point, but in the meantime, I feel like I got a bad batch of clams on pdf and am now paying the pirate price for it. Seems like I would rather walk the plank than deal with this. But in the spirit of the BBK mission, sometimes you just have to turn off the darn computer and take a break. It is mateys, as they say, just a game. See you soon and thanks for the kind words.

Understand Max...but BBK misses ya! Be looking forward to our next guild sailing trip together.

The update to Live was a real slip IMO, but, this may help:

On the log in page, (the one you enter your pass, not the pick a pirate to play page), there is a tab at the bottom to chose GRAPHIC Setting. click on it, switch it from OpenGL to Directx9. This has resolved Several issues as of now.

Hope that helps a little.

Thanks, but still locked out

Thanks for the kind words, but still no support for the issue. I tried all the steps as suggested with online support, and they keep sending me repeat form emails. The whole thing is like a bad batch of taquitos, and I inch ever closer to just moving on. I am trying to be patient, but tonight after forty minutes trying to write files into the pirates online directory on my computer, we did nothing but escalate the ticket again. Oh well, enjoy your pirating, I was thinking of getting spore for my lil pirates in the house.

Take care all and happy hunting.

Brother, I hope we can see ye get through this. Hopefully it's a minor setback.

Sorry if it seems redundant, but did ye follow Sarah's advice above? BEFORE you log in (or attempt to log in) on the game startup screen, down at the bottom right is a button for GRAPHICS. Did ye go in there and switch to DX9?

maximilian 02-04-2009 03:08 AM

Thanks and Yes

Yes, I have followed the advice of my wayward krewe and friends. Glad to know even the Bossman himself is pitchin in a kind word before the techie gurus make me walk the plank--jk. I am just chillin', not at the beach on pdf, but takin a few days off and when this thing is resolved, will be back in the ranks of the BBK.

The only disheartening thing is that they keep promising that some developers are going to get back to me with the fix and no one has yet.

Take care and see you soon.

Not sure if you tried (probably did) but did you try to redownload the launcher? Removing the first launcher before doing so?

Jessica 02-04-2009 03:35 PM

When all else fails, I hit the computer. It worked once with a memory issue. Haha

Check this post:

And try again, mate.

maximilian 02-06-2009 02:22 AM

been there done that--but thanks again mates

BBK and Friends,

The saga continues, but don't don't cry over spilt rum.

It is something deeper than me, the enduser. I have tried it all, and been patient. We reloaded, uninstalled it, added lines in the program all the no avail. the sails simply won't catch wind.

They are going to have some developers look at it. It must be some part of the program that is not loading. They are going to have to do a line by line review of the program that is loading on my computer and figure it out. Not a big deal, I am in the last week of my online course in White Collar Crime and the students are getting more attention than usual.

The drag is that tech support refuses to give me a timeline on when their so called developers will have it reviewed and a fix or something sent out to me.

Happy hunting to all, see you soon!

Yeah!!!
Max made a special appearance at the poker/mastering partie last night and took us all by surprise.
His computer problems are not under control, he came on with a different computer to let us know what the skinny is.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel for him D is going to do a line by line of his program to find the error. :asmiley37:
that should be like using a spork to clean up after a peptic paciderm.
Sounds like a waiting game Max so we will wait with ya, ready to welcome you back when D gets ya fixed.
Take care untill then and we will set aside your share of the plunder and rum for a welcome back partie on your return.:buds:

Wow... well at least one of us can get decent service :D Lets hope they not only discover the problem - but in doing so it fixes many others :)

Captain NightWolf 02-07-2009 09:46 PM

Awesome news...glad they're looking into it for Max...

I'm just wondering though if it's something more then just the program itself...like some sort of conflict with another program or drivers that might be being shared...at times multiple programs will share resources and usually all is well, but sometimes it can create major conflicts...

Best of luck on getting this resolved...
