Pirates and Black Clothing!
BBK is planning a Super Bowl partee and it has been discussed that pirates could wear the colors of their favorite team. Me problem is this: Black & Gold be the colors of Lizzy's team. But, this is a difficult thing to acquire from the tailors and seamstresses on POTCO. IMHO, BLACK is a basic and quite desirable color for a pirates wardrobe. But from a wenches point-of-view, black clothing is a rarity in the stores of POTCO. Not so certain about the clothes that a mate can purchase to enhance his appearance...Is black as rare for the lads as it is for the lasses? And do others believe that this be a color of pirates that needs a bigger quantity for a selection? :bird-vi:

Black be just as hard for us lads to find as well. I was only able to get me black vests when i created me pirates. Hopefully the update will change this.

You can get a gold shirt on one of the clothing quest (PR or Tortuga) Black pants, vest and coats seem common. If nothing else, I got black pants on the PDF clothing quest.
|
In-game, I like my pirates to wear white so they can be seen (and healed.) I assume the game-designers considered that factor, when they made black clothing nearly impossible to get.
|
With the new update on Open, the clothes should now be sorted according to item, with color being shown when purchased or so.

The Barbossa's Clothes quest from the Padres tailor gives you black pants, boots, coat, and hat.

Hmm I thot Barbossa's coat was navy blue. Yes I want black clothing as well especially with the boots. One of my baby pirates snagged a pair of black pants when she was being made at the beginning but my older pirates have yet to see any out there in the shops. Have yet to see the high over-the-knee black boots or even up to the knees. Again my baby pirate has the above-the-ankle type black boots. Oh, well, pirates I guess are supposed to be colorful.

If I'm not mistaken the tall black boots are in the tailor behind General Darkhart, on the back beach on PDF.

Quick question:Where do you get the Bandana with the Skull and Swords on it?:bookishfj7:
|
The Black Skull Bandana was a reward for a quest in Nov, Dec (?) of 2007, the Red Skull bandana was 2008. I'm sure there will be one for this year as well.

The black bandana was a freebee when the first opened the clothing shops in Feb 08

I sent them an e-mail about black clothing & that code option on the bottom of the purchasing box. This is what they replied:

What? Stop pretending Disney, its a game. There are not really shipments. I'm no sure I know any black items other than boots, a hat, and barbossa pants. as for gold... idk

Colors in this game particularly when it comes to clothing appears a bit off.
I have multiple computers and have played many different games, all the computers get the colors perfect on other games, but in POTCO... those clothes are different shades/hues from system to system. Red is pink, and blue is usually purple. Yellow is offwhite. That gold shirt that was mentioned, well it appears like light colored suede/soft leather to me on my main system. Oh, and Barbarossa's 'black' outfit appears to have a 'navy blue' tinge to it thanks to the 3D rendering, black is hard to reflect in 3D as there are no real 'shades of black' to help provide a 3d look. As far as the 'supplies' reference, perhaps the shops tend to move some of their items around availability wise. Never was much for a clothes shopper in potco myself (mainly because the colors were always so messed up) so maybe someone that is knows if this is true. Or maybe thats the reprentatives way of covering their own rear in the event there is a change. |
I'd have to say I agree with Dr. Z. Black is a pain in the pirate to get, as well as white. The little color chart they give for the few items you can choose the color on is almost always wrong. Black is grey, or blue, white is usually pale blue as well. Hawke has white pants only as a starter item. Can't get them in stores. I haven't tried yet for gold, mainly cause I can't stand yellow, but if it's as hard to match as the blues and greens, I feel for anyone looking for it. Too bad we can't just leave our attire in our cannons for a bit, the black powder would stain it a very nice black indeed.:laughks2:
