getting pushed
Ok so I've grown a little bored since I finished story and can only put up with so much weapon leveling at a time.In my search for ways to make the game more fun I have found people (I'll let you incremenate yourselves) have figured out how to push Afk-ers to different spots.Looks like fun so I found a friend akk the other night and tried but with little (read no) success. So fess up how do you do it?

AFK Relocation, or Pirate pinball, is an artform. It takes a lot of practice, and even then some people are much better at it than others. I am not making any claims as to being part of it, but I do know that it is easier to do if there is more thsn one person doing the pushing. Team work is important.
A small group of Dueces Wild guild members have formed the AFK Relocation team, and are available for hire at a small fee. I can put you in touch with their sales rep, if you would like. |
LOL -whats that 1 800 number again? sure a team of specialist might be in order
|
LOL, it is an art form. I wouldn't recomend pushing around pirates you don't know though. Some may find it rude. But if you see any dueces in game that went afk...go for it, you'll probably have help. ;)
|
dueces wild...pushiest lot in the carribean...that's one of the reasons why i joined 'em. ;)
|
We gotta have fun somehow you know :) I certainly agree, leveling does get monotonous at times.

maybe I'll put me x on your sign up sheet Thanks guys

If you are having a lot of trouble pushing an AFK, try changing methods. I've found that I can't use the mouse at all, when pushing an AFK - I have to do it all by keyboard. Other people swear by joystick-pushing, yet other using joysticks can't push at all. The essential principle to it, is to look for their foot circle (like you see when you attune them) and overlap your pirate's foot circle, at the point opposite of the direction you want them to go.
Pushing uphill is about 10 times harder than pushing downhill. Glancing your circle off the other pirate's circle (like a billiard ball) tends to work better for longer-faster individual pushes. If you pass through the pushee, keep walking in that same direction for a moment, before looping back around to start a fresh push (because sometimes, you will "drag" them as you go forward.) Note that many wall glitches that require two people to "push" through, are made even easier when one of the two is AFK (since most wall glitches are a kind of network latency timing phenomenon, one person being AFK helps to dramatically increase that latency.) But, if the AFK is on a saturated connection (doing several large simultaneous downloads or something) then they will be immobile and stuck, until they get booted. No amount of pushing will make them budge. I think that is like the minute or two after they get "Internet connection to POTCO has dropped" but before the server has reset their pirate. As others have said, use prudence, with who you do this to. If it isn't someone you know, they may get unreasonably upset. |
Almost like coming out to the parking lot and finding your vehicle isn't quite in the same spot as it was when you parked. Things that make you go....hmmmmmmmm...

Thanks Edgemenace as always your post is full of good info and yeah wont be pushing unknown pirates around dont wanna get keel hauled or somethin lol
|
I got pushed into limbo from skellar and was not AFK...had 3 or 4 peeeps tping to me at same time and there I was flapping me arms in Limbo...lol
|
All I have to say is, its 10 points if you push them off the dock into the water.
Frankly, if so many have no problem jumping into other players battles, I can't see why something harmless would matter? If one needs to go from point A to point B, and someone is between those two points, it can't be helped, whoahaha. |
Wow! I thought I was the only one who did it. I have been doing it for months now, usually on Padres on the path by the shipwright, pushing people into the water, LOL! Somewhere I have a list of names of those I've pushed and I would whisper to them "You've been pushed!" Too funny:laughks2:
|
haha I think one of our members said a similar thing once. "The DW version of Punkd" lol. I agree though, it really should not be done to pirates you don't know.
|
Let me state this again...I don't recomend pushig the AFk if you don't know the pirate. Yeah, DW sees it as an art form, but on Dueces. (esp funny if the AFK is actually there watching you do it ;) )

I adore that more people are doing this now. When me and my friends/old guild were doing this last year (we use to love pushing them in the water XD) people would get so upset or angry with us. Glad to see people are more loosened up now to see that it's just for fun.
I think the best one we did was in Padres, we pushed two AFK'ers off the clff into the water and the guy came back as we were all snickering in guild to yell at us haha. |
Well that's not any fun. You upset the poor pirate. If you're going to push someone, do it for a laugh, for EVERYONE, including the AFK'er.
|
Just once, I wish I would get pushed over to a cannon when I'm stuck on the LOADING SCREEN, from boarding at a dinghy. As I randomly click for the RETURN (to port of call) button, I often drink several tonics, instead. Grrrr.
|
I had fun doing that in Toontown. I wouldn't push them into Cog buildings (which would be cruel) but putting them in fishing ponds or off the docks was fun.
|
If you see me AFK, go ahead!! push me....hahaha I really dont mind...it is fun.
|
Me too... if i'm sleepy enough to fall asleep at the pc.. I deserve to be relocated.
Look for my sleepy pirate girls names below... |
we hav to think of fun thing to do ........pushing or being push........lol
|
I like the challenge of pushing my guildmates into unusual places....it's time consuming.. but hey what else am I gonna do in game.
It's alot more fun than standing around wasting time on Tortuga Abassa. (That I don't see the point in.) |

Tortuga Abassa gives me a headache...too much bragging, whining, griefing, baiting, griping, goading, primping, lagging, and eventual pc crashing.
If I wanted all that.. I'd start doing volunteer work at any local high school. Afk relocation calls for creativity and patience. And you don't even have to use local chat to do it. |
