Pirates Of The Caribbean 4?
Ahoy! There have been more rummors on there being a 4th movie from some sites. What do you think? Do you think there will be a fourth movie?

I'm not so sure about there being a 4th one. They seemed to have tied up all the loose ends.

Over at another forum I'm at, the person was watching something and they were talking about a Pirates 4. And I guess, the people on the T.V. said "Because of how much money was made over Memorial weekend, we will be doing a fourth"

The fact is that we don't know for sure. There may be a 4th movie, but it may not have Orlando Bloom/Keira Knightley/Johnny Depp or it may just not be very good. OR, there might not be a 4th movie at all. Although some people think Disney has confirmed a 4th we can not be sure of it happening until there is further announcement. I'm not saying I wouldn't want a 4th movie-- I would want one if it had a good plot but if it didn't I wouldn't really want it to ruin the other movies.

I think there will be a POTC 4.
It would probably be called POTC: Agua de Vida. Disney is making too much money off this, (thank gosh... I hated Spiderman 3) so they won't just throw it away. |
good points but Johnny Depp didn't want to do a second/third one that much, they convinced him to do a second and third movie at the same time. So if they do another one, it would be probably with another person playing Jack Sparrow.

Although I think a fourth movie would be awesome, I'm not sure how they can do it. It is not like the second movie, where they left you hanging and had an easy story to make, there isn't anything. Especially if you have seen the last scene, it's not like there is anything that can happen.

Jim Hill from jimhillmedia.com appears to think that the 4th will be about Jack and Barbossa fighting to get to the fountain Of Youth, and not focus on the Turners. This would also be the flagship for a redo of Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom to PirateLand, where the E-Ticket attraction would be a new RC about finding the Fountain Of Youth. All to compete against the new Wizarding World Of Harry Potter park at universal.

Oh that would be kind of neat, although we would have to wait quite a while for it to come out of course. We were all spoiled because of the short wait between the second and third films =P. I am still not sure, however, that they can turn that into the same success that the trilogy was.
And on a side note, although I am a Disney girl through and through, the Harry Potter theme park looks like it will be pretty neat! |
Well, they waited a year for the third movie to come out, but it was already done when the second one was done filming. So who knows how long this one would be, if there is going to be one lol.

Next Movie
I have heard from a few people that there was a good chance of having a Pirates of the Caribbean 4. They said it was about Jack Sparrow searching for the fountain of youth. I do not know how they know this, but it sounds like a legitimate plot for a new movie. Oh well, just my thoughts.

Well, we have to keep in mind the fourth will take place 10 years after AWE. But what baffles me is, who will be the foe in the fourth. They killed off, Elisabeth's father, Beckett and pretty much all of the East India Trading Co. , and Davy Jones (his crew is normal). Not to mention, Tia is not human anymore. All they have left is Barbossa. What can he do? -.- He's not an undead pirate anymore. The story will be very bland. |
Maybe they will do something like Star Wars did and make prequals. Its kind of unclear of all of jacks past anyway, and maybe they can base it off the stories Rob Kidd made, which was in Jack Sparrow's teens.

There's going to be a 4th, but it is the start of a new story. There'll probably be a 5th and a 6th too.

i heard through the grapvine that Pirates 4 is going to be a Pre-quil showing us when Barbossa turned and they found the orignal tresure and who Wil's mum was.. that would be cool

Well its possible but I heard Johnny depp is retiring soon, and will turner/elizabeth are kinda out of the story...
at worlds end, ended to seem like jack sparrow lives forever but he doesn't get the black pearl. so... im guessing it will be a starwars thing some day. I also agree with captain sea you cant really replace johnny with a kid or a teen it wouldnt be so good. |

I keep hearing people saying it's going to be called "Pirates of the Caribbean The Fountain of Youth". But I cannot find anywhere online where Disney announced the movie. So as far as I know, there won't be a fourth movie.

Mabey,( if they do make a fourth one) they will have totally new people and more pirates, leave some characters out, and make a whole different story! Well, that probably wouldn't happen, but still, I like that Idea!

I really really hope there isn't a forth, they should have ended it at the second movie, the third was horrible in my opinion.

See for me it was the 2nd movie I wasn't that crazy about, but the 3rd one I thought was pretty good. They sort of left us off with a cliff hanger there lol We must know what happens with the Fountain of Youth thing. I really think they'll do a 4th movie, if they didn't they're just stupid =P
I'd really really like to see a 4th movie. Johnny Depp as I recall said he'd do a 4th in some interviews he did. Think about it, without Johnny Depp you have no movie. I almost think the same with Barbossa, one reason I think I didn't like the 2nd movie as much was cause he was missing til the end. |

Keira isn't the one retiring, she just said she didn't want to do anymore.
Orlando is the one retiring. Johnny said he'd stay as long as the scripts were good, but I don't think they'll do anymore with only one of them. |
Here's my idea for number 4...
and if Disney uses it, I will expect credit and compensation!!! Elizabeth finds a way to release Will from his curse and sets out on a quest for the solution...but she can't do it alone of course, there are only two men, Sparrow and Barbossa who can save Will, and first she has to find them and bring them together (along with their crews of course) and a few other new characters! And heres one other note to Disney...if you can't get the same actors, don't bother making the movie! |
I think there will be a 4th and it will be called: Pirates Of The Carribean 4: The Fountain of Youth. You know at the end Jack has the map to the fountain of youth.

Jack Sparrow is searching for the Fountain of youth and that has something to do with releasing Will Turner...thats how Elizabeth meets up again with Jack and finds out about a way to free Will! Yeah...thats it! LOL |

Wow where do I start on this?
First I will state I would LOVE to see a fourth. Second I would like to disagree with ANYONE who thinks that there should not be one! Third to those specifically who think the third left no openings: Did you even watch the end of the third movie at all? They clearly left story openings with the whole fountain of youth thing. Will Jack or Barbossa get there first? Also as others have said, I don't think Will and Elizabeth's story is over either. I agree that there could be a part of the story where Elizabeth has to try to break Will's curse. Also, did everyone foget about Tia/Calypso? They could work something in where Elizabeth needs to recapture Calypso and make her human again so that she could get Calypso/Tia to help her break Will's curse (maybe Elizabeth needs the fountain of youth to make Calypso human again?). I just think there are a few different ways they could go with the fountain of youth thing as the main storyline and different ways to work the will & elizabeth stuff in as well. Also I would like to state that Johnny Depp's kids even love him being Jack Sparrow (he even came to his kids birthday party as Jack Sparrow once) so if it came down to it I'm sure he would do a 4th just to see the joy on his kids faces. Not to mention that Johnny will always be the one and only Jack Sparrow as everyone knows so if they did a fourth they would have to listen to his ideas like they did in the third. It would be easy money for him. |

They say things like: "can't see another", "think I have had enough", "don't want to do another".... which are all Hollywood language for "if you pay me enough, I will do anything!" and "you better get your cheque books ready!" I remember how many times Harrison Ford was quoted as stating beyond a doubt, that he would never do Indiana Jones again! These stars are just like Rock stars.... I hear The Who are retiring again! i think there will be a fourth maybe not this year or next maybe in four years it will come out. anyway there could be a fourth movie - Pirates if the Caribbean: and The Fountain of Youth - you would not really need will turner or elizabeth swan they would only need jack sparrow - and depp has already said that he would do a million pirate movies as sparrow - and barbossa and im sure the rush would also do another movie money is not a problem after the DVD BluRay theater and game release of the movie. it is just a matter of time because disney does not want to " overdo" the pirates madness

Well, I've also heard stuff about a fourth movie, but what made me think is the little flyer that came with the AWE DVD. Most of the questions were answered with "That story has yet to be told".

I thought and heard something about a fourth movie, since the last part before the credits seemed like a begining (Jack Sparrow and Barbossa's map of the fountain of youth thing) So I think there might be and I heard it won't be made or start to be made until 2009 or 2010 to give the actors and actresses a rest since they made 2 and three at the same time.

Johnny depp said he will be in the next pirates movie if they have a good script but keira knightly says she probably won't because she has been doing it since she was 17.

There will pobably be a 4th flick it doesn't need the turners maybe their son. And Disney can easily generate the money for making the movie think about it. They have a theme park,Movies,DVDS,Video Games,2 poular MMORPGS. nd All they need for a fourth movie is Jack Sparrow. As long as the next movie has marty im happy.

There's so many questions unanswered that I think it would be TOTALLY doable to have a POTC 4 and have it be as fresh as the first three. Somebody mentioned a prequel to Black Pearl - THAT would be awesome. We know Barbossa at one point was first mate of the Black Pearl, before he lead a mutiny against Jack - so how did Jack and Barbossa meet?
And what ABOUT the tale of Bootstrap Bill? I think that in itself would be a great story, just from what we know so far. It's apparent that at one point he was a great pirate, as he has been an intrigal (forgive my spelling) part of the story line from day one. Then there's the Black Pearl itself. In the first movie, so many stories were told about it (crewed by the damned, so on, so forth) How did this start? It's the fastest ship on the seas, so I'm sure there's a great story to it's beginning. I also wouldn't mind if they delved into the story of Calypso and Davy Jones. And then there's good ol' Jacky. The son of Teague Sparrow, a pirate feared by the Brethren Court, the Keeper of the Code. What of our mysterious captain? What of those stories of Singapore that is hinted? Why did Sao Feng hate him so much? So. I say make TWELVE more, lol. That being said, and adding to the nine thousand rumors, the Aqua de Vida? Rumor has it their will be a National Treasure 3 based on...the Fountain of Youth. This could be tricky. However a friend of mine and I talked about how neat it would be if Nicholas Cage's character goes to the fountain of youth and finds Jack's pistol or Barbossa's cutlass. :) |
Not to mention they could add alot of stuff from the games. What if Barbossa and Jack come face to face with the Jolly Roger? With the awesome job they did on Davy, could you IMAGINE what they could do with Jolly Roger?

:skull: i think a prequel would be the best way to go, they will prolly have a hard time getting johnny depp back and he is getting older and is probably more worried about getting that coveted oscar than having a big box office success. i could see them getting a young actor to fill sparrow's and barbossa's shoes and go from there. there are alot of things we dont know about jack's past, like how barbossa was his first mate and why he led a mutiny. but with the success of the last three, i am nearly positive that disney cannot step away from the franchise and will continue to make pirates movies. i would love to see it. correct me if i am wrong but when i went to disneyworld as a kid i think i remember something about the fountain of youth on the pirates ride. :skull:

They didn't have to convince Johnny Depp to do the second and third one he even said himself that he had seperation anxiety with Captain Jack Sparrow. My guess is that there will be a fourth, they made so much money that it would be stupid not to do one. I also think that it will be about aqua de vida and fighting over the Black Pearl. I think they will.
