Jolly Roger's Curse Returns!

All Hallows' Eve proved to be a real test for the Pirate population, as Pirates all over the Caribbean managed to beat back the undead invasion and Jolly Roger's curse. Undaunted by the Pirates' efforts, Jolly Roger is now using the winter winds and his magic to vex the inhabitants of the Caribbean again, and this time, we might not be so fortunate.

The elders of the Marceline Guild have warned of the curse and now the prophecy has come full circle. Still to be revealed is why Jolly Roger wants to enlist Pirates into his undead army. Will you stand together and fight off the evil scourge of Jolly Roger's undead army - or become one of them? The moon be full this weekend mates, beware!

Possibly the sign of a new story quest? One involving Jolly Roger? :psmiley27:

This week has ALOT more times that last time what im hoping is that alot of the small events they are doing are full scale tests for things to come. Im wondering if they are testing a full scale PVP feature so that some servers can be dedicated to that. Same with the pig im wonderin if they were testing a newer way to get tonics with food.

I hope it is a sign for a new story quest! that would be awesome!

It is neat, just not to happy after the "Bandana Incident" that they didnt 'actually' fix.
Beware my level 40 mastered... I bring him out to ravage the low levels during the full moons..

Would be sorta fun if we could get one of our pirates as to permanently "become one of them".

OK so I will try to respond to this in a positive way. I am happy I didn't tell all those separate methods to glitch hills on Tortuga, now on the glitch thread.

I guess this is the ultimate round 2 for me! Last time I was basic... but now... I get help from my old friend Kenny.

P.S. Kenny is sort of a hot head if you know what I mean...

P.S.S. it would be really great if this was a story quest. I wouldn't mind a side quest.

I'm actually not very thrilled about the full moon returning. I dodn't really enjoy it very much for some reason. I am looking forward to the double coin event, though!

The only way this curse could get better is if Jolly Roger decided to make an appearance.
In my opinion the only good thing that can come out of this curse is being one of Jolly Rogers undead.

Ok just a question who will be up at 2am to do that event!! Come on i know yuo want to! LOL thats actually for the UK people since disney doesnt have their game ready :D

Aye Chris, seems strange they wouldnt even start the 'event' cycle until 1pm, considering thats 4pm for those on the east coast, and the day will be past for them. This sort of schedule appears to directly contradict the "this game was designed for kids" idea that people have passed along.

This is sure gonna put a damper on all the guild events scheduled for this week-end...

As for Chris's 2am question...insomniacs will be on board...lol

Also im assuming (uh oh i assumed) that the event will last 15 mintues each liek last time. I noticed there is no note of how long each event will last.

I was jumping thru servers -- no curse. One friend sent me message that she was on Antik, and a GM had been there to "start" the curse.

Don't really care when the curse happens. If I'm on the beach just kill my low level and I'll wait it out in jail til the crazies go away. :p

Ok -- 1pm PST went to several servers, asked my Guild who were oline, and several friends. Only one friend said there was a curse - Antik (I posted that info earlier) but not what island she was on.
4- 4:15pm, went to over a dozen servers in the time frame -- no curse. No one in the Guild saw it anywhere they were either.
What a not funny joke.

We've tried several times, and no curse. One of my guildies contacted Disney and was asked if he was outside (yeah, really *eye roll*) and then was told to check other servers. My husband went through every server, and still couldn't find it.

I was actually really looking forward to this, since Halloween was so much fun, but this is a mess. If they really are having a GM start them, like they did the Founders Feast, that would be ridiculous. Every one of those things was late, and half the servers never started at all. Is that what we have to look forward to this weekend?

I said last time maybe it will get better in the next couple days. So won't fall for that again.

Me pirate, he thinks if he can't permanetly be undead and Jolly,,,err um with Jolly, ya thats it, he would at least like to give the Marceline guild a nice 6 foot drop with a sudden stop.

It was Mosada server.

I was able to get on for the lastest one but I coulden't find a server with it

Well I was on earlier for 2 of the Curses, and there was no curse so I went to the chat help and this is how it went. Enjoy.

IAN:This doesn't seem to be a universal problem, so I would suggest checking other servers at the time the curse should be happening as a workaround.

Here is my Bug report I just sent in (made a similar, yet briefer comment on the Grog Blog...IF they post it, that is).

I have not seen the so-called "curse" once today.
I have only heard - from one friend - who stated it occurred on Antik server at 1pm PST.
I have been online at each appointed time for the curse: PST 1PM, 230PM, 4PM, 730PM, 11PM and have traveled to numerous servers each time within a 15 minute time frame.
Each time was on Tortuga. Each time I was indeed outside. Each time there was no full moon, and no curse.
Just a few minutes ago, from 11pm-1115pm PST, I traveled thru TWENTY TWO servers on Tortuga (outside), and experienced no curse.
There servers included every single server listed as "Ideal" at the time, and then other servers at random:
Kokoros (where I was placed when logging on).
Tortos, Navermo, Abassa, Andaba, Patros, Legassa, Angama, Andoso, Cruzaire, Angassa, Pataba, Mosona, Battama, ESquago, Fraguille, Romana, Eustaba, Hassilles.
The ineptitude displayed during the Feast and now this over-hyped fraud is unacceptable.
Sorry, I know one catches more flies with honey, but these bugs are pathetic. Walt would be ashamed.

It didn't come again tonight at 9:30. I love this part...
Umm, it seemed pretty universal to me! And to everyone else standing on that beach complaining.

So, should we all send in bug reports?

On Andaba right now -- Moon is finally full...but no curse. Just checked Abassa...no full moon.
Notice just came on saying POTCO will close for maintenance in 30 minutes ....uh huh....

when I sent my bug report in, I had to send the 2 files from The POTC folder. I noticed they were closing for mantaince also. Hopefully they get everything fixed.

I think it lasted WAY longer that 15 minutes or it could just be me imagining things.

Im hoping the one 4:00 EST will actually come

Nothing here either... waited for two last night. Nothing at all. Two different servers, two disappointing non-curses. Meh!

Its just to bad Disney refuses the idea to make something for everyone.

Best laugh was the reports, it must be you, "Can I help you with something else" basic blah blah.

Ran off a lot at Thanksgiving with giving a select few a event.
Must be going for a lot more yet?

I was on 5 different times, and got to watch 30 to more players all get disappointed each time, plus others after jumping servers.

At least it was fun watching so many get glitched up on the hill, where I set myself up to land siege bombs. That would of been fun if it had come.

Each one of these time failures sure added to the count watching this thread last night though.

Did they do anything about it at Thanksgiving, no. To expect they would this time?

Perhaps there is hope I found this on the glog blog.

Jolly Roger's Curse has returned to the Caribbean! The curse is happening in every Ocean and lasting longer than it did on All Hallows Eve. Jolly Roger found a way to ignore the scheduled moon phases on Dec 12th, but he'll have to make his magic align with the planets for the rest of the days... Have you been affected by the curse? What do you think of Jolly Roger's latest efforts to convert you to his cause?

The Curse was very fun for me, mainly because I was on Angama when it happened
Killed level 40's, a level 37 and 39, twice, and alot of others. And not to gloat, but when the curse ended i was still a skeleton :D

Well at first I thought this curse would be ok beings how I had NO problems with the last one. My opinion changed completely after this one. I was only able to be on for 2 of the curses....they really didn't follow the schedule the first day.

During the first curse all was going well then the screen just turned white and closed. So SOS pretty much lagged out of the game.
During the second curse......well I didn't like this one at all. I didn't even get to be a part of this one. Sven O'smythe tped to a friend and got booted.....since then I have been unable to log on as him. Sven Daggershot got the curse but nobody was on the server since he logged right when it changed.

At least between Christmas tree, a new satellite Internet antenna, I got to a couple since Halloween.
Yeah everything seems to be working now on schedule. The fuller servers are pretty laggy.

I am getting pretty good on a couple of those hill glitches getting up to those guys, haha.

Nice that all can get into these now if they wish to do so.

Have to brush off the dust since tavern take over and see what the Last Mohican can do.

I really am enjoying the Dec. Curses much more than the Hallows Eve ones :)

Yea :) it was great fun! Glad they decided to do them again. I didnt get to do the ones during halloween i was too busy so its great they brought them back.

I experienced the curse several times yesterday and on Saturday using my other pirates...ofcourse, I was on for about 2 and 1/2 hours straight waiting for that curse. It last for about 5 minutes...which is cool. This is how I was playing: I turn undead, I was not killing my fellows undead pirates, instead, I was aiming for the living pirates...once I died and went back to a living pirate, then time to kill the undeads. It was fun lol.

oh yeah....... the hunt is on once more........

I really hope there doing this curse for a permanent activity
All the time PVP servers would be great. :)

I agree it would be awesome if they were testing this to maybe make some servers full time PVP.
