Must come to an end. This is to inform all members of Bad To The Bonez that effective Sunday, December 14, 2008, BTTB will cease to exist.

The reasons are simple. With the majority of the guild's top officers gone from the game and very few active members, I can see no point in continuing.

To all of the members who might actually read this, I would just like to say thank you. It's been a fun ride while it's lasted. I've met many great people through this guild and although many of them no longer play, it was my honor to serve as your guild master.

I would recommend to anyone who plans to continue playing that would like to join another guild, check out the guild forums here on POF. There a some great guilds here that are active and will serve you better than this one could ever hope to at this time.

To the admins: You may close this sub forum after 12/14/08. Thanks for letting us have a place of our own while it lasted.

edit: Ill miss my BTTB under my name in the game :( its just thatt connection with the name i know we are all friends in game so we wont lose each other.

edit: BTTB has been my home since january of this year i leveled my pirate from like 16 to 40 in the guild :( and i miss ATM'ing and all the other fun events we did. I also miss our members :( grace and rose and xel and the others :(

Bad day for POTCO to hear news like this!!!!!!

I too blame Disney because the main reason that people leave the game is LACK OF CONTENT!
I'm sorry to read that this is happening. Your guild is one of the best that I could ever meet in game. I always thought very highly of you guys; you will always have my utmost respect.
Disney doesn't add new content and another one bites the dust, that's the way it goes now.
I wish the remaining BTTB guidies the best of luck in all aspects.

I also need to blame Disney.
Due to the lack of content in the game, this is what happens, a strong, well respected guild with some of the best pirates I have ever seen, loses some of its most valueable members.
Chris, I back up your phone call and email 110%. This ignorance of Disney has gone to far.
As for BTTB and its members, the least I can say is i'm sorry. You were truely an amazing guild filled with amazing people. I can only wish you all best of luck.

I'm sorry to hear another guild is coming to an end. I have more to say. I just don't have the words for it. I wish you all the best... This might be a very sad Christmas for POTCO...

Whoa, easy there Chris, don't blow a gasket. This wasn't posted as a rant against the game, please don't turn it into one. The truth of the matter is that it is easy to blame Disney for the demise of this guild or any of the others that have died out.

But lets face it, there are guilds out there that are surviving the lack of game content and even growing. It's the members who make the guild not the game. If a guild can't keep it's members in spite of not having new content, then the blame should be placed with it's leader(s), not the game.

And in that respect I assume all responsibility. Some people have the ability to grow a successful guild others don't. I gave it my best shot when Bad Pete left and it was a good run for awhile. That run has ended.

Sorry to hear that BTTB is going to end.....but does this mean just the guilds over or are you leaving too Grizz?

wow....... this was kind of unexpected yet expected at the same time.
It is getting really bad with big D not sending out new content and i know countless numbers of guilds dying out because of the players leaving because of it.
BTTB i thought was a pretty active guild but when Swash told me a few months ago about the inactivness of BTTB i was shocked.
Best of luck to all BTTB members looking for a guild and to You, Grizz.

I think Disney is trying there best to mantain this game, I think ye guys don't realize they can just snap there fingers and *POOF* new content is added. It takes time to keep a game under control. In all I be very sorry about BTTB Best of luck mate

Who says the fun is over...this is the end of a guild not the end of the friendships created.

I'll still be playing, I'll still have everyone I want to keep in touch with on my friends lists.

Mourn not the guilds passing but celebrate it's life....it was a good one even if it was brief.

So long BTTB, yeah this game is so repetitive with nothing new and gets boring after about the 3rd pirate...new quests..but really no new content.

oh wow.....sry to hear about BTTB. when i heard of popular guilds, BTTB is always one of the first guilds i hear or think of (sry BBK and PIC).

I know that I can;t express it well enough, but we all feel bad when a guild dies. Your's was a strong one for a long time, and to hear that it has reached an end is terrible news.

I will say what the others GM's haven't, Griz, it's not your fault, It is tough to keep everyone active in a situation like this. Not just Disney, but the economy, the holidays, and everyone seems to be busier now today than they were just a couple months ago. You can't prevent poeple from getting bored, or not being able to afford the monthly fee, or just moving on to other things.

I will say that anyone who would like to is welcome to check out joining Dueces, and I'm sure that the other guilds will also welcome any members of BTTB that are staying active. ( I can;t name names or speak for the other GM's, but I can guess that they would welcome BTTB members with open arms.)

I know me and you have not had a very good back round, but I know how much your guild means to you guys. I am sorry to hear you go. Maybe there is a way for you to stay? Maybe find more active players? Just a thought.

Sad that this great guild will be soon retired. I am glad that I became a member of Bad To The Bonez where I met some good friendly people, some because I dont see them all when I get online. I understand what Captain G. is referring to because that happened to my former guild. Once all got to lvl 40, things started to change downhill. Unfortunately, good things never last long enough.
Thank you Chris for being the first to introduce the guild on a post, and thanks Captain G. for the chance and the great effort you put as a GM.

i will miss bttb and all the members and its sad to see such a great guild go :( like chris said I BLAME DISNEY for lack of content and other stuff grizz you are a great leader and you are 1 of the best guildmasters i have ever served tyvm for letting me be in bttb. its been fun and i will miss bttb so much :( good luck everyone

Im very sorry to hear... Ive seen many BTTB members about the beaches, and its a shame to see this notice.

I had a bad experience with my active guild! I had an active guild that I wiped out due to two officers dragging members to another new guild - which IMO is unethical - either way, when an active guild fades its a shame. My solution was to delete, and rebuild - which is working out fine, but it does indeed take effort, and when you are lvl 40, the time you spend playing is limited unless you have baby pirates. =P


Not to hijack your thread, but yeah - its a disappointment when a seemingly healthy active guild loses members - very very sorry to hear its become inactive - and congrats to you on such a successful run.

Game is just kind of getting boring to make things sound simple.
BTTB..you all are a mighty strong guild, and you will not be forgotten even in your exit :)

I am at a loss for words. I've seen guilds come and go.......... but never like this. you see, I am with a guild rapidly ' moves on '. the guildmaster would first alert all the members and officers that they would be making a new guild soon. of course, some of them where left behind. this was an indecisive guildmaster, as you can see. but I have never seen such a guild................... collapse, like this. you will still have my upmost respect, and that goes for every guildmaster who has a sub forum on POF. goodbye, BTTB, and good luck. oh, and what a time, too. I was just about to consider joining this guild!

I feel a huge sense of loss reading this. Ya'll have been around as long as I have played and been a strong guild.
I wish ya'll the best on future endeavors.

My thanks to all who have posted for their kind words and well wishes, they are much appreciated and does a weathered, old salt's heart good to hear them.

This may be the end, but always remember for every ending there is a new beginning. Tis just the start of a new journey.

Tis this kind of things that left me to be a lone pirate......... My guild collapsed on itself and was closed. now I'm all alone.........

Unfortunately I was away during these announcements (doesn't anyone tell me these things?...) - but BTTB was a great guild with very influencal and respected members, and definitely earned my respect a long time ago...

You will all definitely be missed, and questions please feel free to ask or PM me anytime, and I will try to help or assist however I can.
