Guild Scam
The other day I was walking around and a bucha ppl were crewing 4 a bossbattle. I joined, and ehen it got time to take on the forts someone got on the wheel and tried to make us all join his guild. I pretty much laughed at him and logged. Shoulda reported him but forgot. This happen to anyone else?
HAR! No, not yet but what a PLOY! Got to hand it to him--VERY Pirate-y.
LOL I thought most pirates knew when you blackmailed someone.. you need to actually have something on them. May have messed up whoevers bossbattle it was though I reckon
And, exactly what method of force was this idjet supposed to use to make everyone join his guild, and I would have reported him in a heartbeat!
I've never had this problem before but I can tell you one thing....if someone was being so childish as to FORCE people to join a guild, I would have reported them.
It's sad when people resort to trying to blackmail people in a game. Some of these players need to take a chill pill and remember its just a game. Next time report the guy Kit.
I haven't experienced this, but if you see anyone abusing the game in any form, just report him ASAP. Hopefully, anyone who was in that crew and got the forced invite might reported him already.
Wow... just... wow. Just when you think you seen it all. This just leaves me speechless...
I was helping a youngling with her BB and I was the designated driver (I had the most rum in me)... anyway we gathered a crew on the beach... several people I didn't know... well once on board and time to take the wheel and sail towrd the bridges... some numb head took control of the wheel and drove full speed to the bridges where we were sitting targets... we kept telling him to stop and let go of the wheel, but it was no use... we sunk really really fast...
Why don't these peeps get a real life or a job or therapy?
Yeah, forgot to report him. I think some people actually did join but I told them not to. Probubly needed a BB. If any of them see this please report him!
Why bother reporting something like this. Yes, it is very wrong to try something like that, which as someone here mentioned is indeed something a pirate would do. Gutsy, clever, but very very childish and rather dumb. I'd report if he used inappropriate language, harassing, or something along those lines, but a desperate move like that is nothing more than desperate recruiting move.
To tell the truth I am sure this is one of the things sent in with many others that has never been looked at.
Though it is a ridiculous ploy, why do we not have right to our quest, that this happens at all. A player that is running their bb, should have all rights to the wheel over any other. This is not the first time this has happen, and even one of my characters I had a guy race up and grab the wheel, nothing from that point you can do. Things like this have been hitting deaf ears for a long time. Gm's leaving the game and guilds in total array, with no powers. Several things such as this, and no idea how to ever make it sink in, these are not good things. |

There's no good reason to take the wheel of a boss battle when people are trying to play and tell them to join your guild. |
cracks me up, that had to be the worst guild in the game! lol

Again, although I can appreciate the emotional distress it must have caused, I can also appreciate the very pirate-y nature of said hijack. |
Before the BB the guy who Hiijacked us was begging me to join With whispers. I kept politely refusing but he wouldn't stop. I shoulda taken that as a hint...
LOL! Why report for this? He was simply using the age old pirate tactic of "press ganging" to get people to join his guild. LOL! Unfortunately, for it to work, you have to be able to knock people cold, drag them to your ship, and set sail.
Ya did the right thing Kit. Just walk away and shake your head in amazement. |
The reality here, is that it simply is not really a 'reportable' issue.
This is something that can easily be avoided, and is in full control of those orchestrating the boss battle. Invite pirates you dont know to your BB, and your asking for such problems. As if pirates would just take any wayward pirate looking individual aboard thier ship for any major venture. I dont agree with the tactics of such an individual, but whenever someone starts opening thier situation up to "Open" or "Public", and gives up control of 'who' participates, you are asking for a number of unknown elements such as this. |
I met Anndrreuuh by inviting her to a BB when I didn't know her rofl.

The point Im making is, that its controlled by those orchestrating the boss battle. If you wish to open it to public and invite strangers on the chance you may meet some new good friends, thats fantastic, but dont blame the game if you encounter a bad element, it was your choice to take that chance. You cant complain to Disney when everyone else isnt playing to YOUR set of rules (which do not apply to others). |

couldn't you take the helm back? captains do that to me all the time when they're not on it and were being killed

The captain/owner of the ship can always take over control. Unfortunately, in the boss battle, your trying to steal the Black Pearl back from the Navy. Its not your ship, your not the captain. Whoever takes the helm, takes the helm, and noone can override it. |
I must of read the quest wrong all those times, I was positive it said round up a crew, never remembered it saying round up captains.
Go to the problem, Disney. And Disney running off everyone with downgrades and bans. No new content, thus empty guilds. Empty guilds means no friends for help on these for some people. Can't imagine what they will come up with to downgrade for this pretend fix, rather than simply giving the owner of the quest over ride rights to the wheel. |
C'mon, this isn't Disney's fault. One little exploit with the ship wheel doesn't probubly merit as much attention as the sea of other problems they need to fix in the game.
