POTC3: AWE Seen it? Discuss here! Warning - contains **SPOILERS**

If you've seen Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End, this is the place to talk about it! Let's try to respect those who have not yet seen it, and keep all spoiler talk out of other topics. Thanks!

I saw it last night and was most impressed! I kept thinking "I need to see this again! I need to see this again!" I'm sure there are many details and such that I missed the first run through. Did you all stay all the way through the credits?

decemberiskool 05-25-2007 02:09 PM

I saw it last night with my sister and neighbor and 2 of her friends. I went to a different theater so my neighbor and her 2 friends could be together. There were I think 4 of them at 8 at my theater.

SPOILERS!

IMO I didn't like it. It was long and confusing. I really like Tia Dalma too. (Well besides all that witchy stuff she did) She added spice to the movie and I was really depressed when they made her end up being bad. I like how Swan had more of a Piratey role in it though. Seeing Jacks dad was pretty funny along with his "mum".

Jack Sunshot 05-25-2007 02:34 PM

I saw it last night as well. I think it is the best one of the three.*SPOILER WARNING*

My favorite part in the movie was where the Black Pearl sent the dutchman into the maelstrom. And then it went out to challenge Beckett's ship and the dutchman, captained by Will, comes up alongside and completely obliterates Beckett's ship. This is my favorite of the trilogy. The visual effects arent as good as in the second movie, then again, however they did the whirlpool battle is beyond me. The music in this one was probably my favorite of the three. But no action sequence will surpass the rolling wheel of the second movie in terms of comedy, but the whirlpool battle is probably my favorite action scene of any movie.

I saw it yesterday a 8:00PM. It's almost a three hour long movie! It was good though, the whole Pirates trilogy (starting with 2) is kind of confusing, but I kept up with it, you just have to listen carefully.

About a fourth movie, I don't think they'll do it, if you watch the clip at the end of the credits you'll see why. But you never know, they might think something up.

At World's End

I saw the movie last night and loved it. I don't know what you people are talking about it being confusing. If you pay attention, and how can you not, then there is nothing to be confused about.

Bellatrix 05-26-2007 02:00 AM

Oh, I saw it at 8 AND 12 yesterday too. (Booked
ahead for the midnight passes, then got the 8
o'clock passes when I found out they were selling
them at the earlier times.)

I loved it. Going to see it tomorrow and Monday also,
because I feel as if I still missed a lot.

The first time I saw At World's End, when it was
getting good and the whole theatre was soaking
up every word, the screen went blank! The projector
failed for some reason, so everyone was freaking
out because we wanted to know what happened.
This one lady in front was hyperventilating, it was
too funny! They did show us the ending, but they
did not rewind the movie to where we were, so I
did not understand the ending that well until I saw
it the second time. The theatre gave us all free
passes though to see another movie, so it's all good. :)

Can't wait to get the soundtrack this weekend!

I found this movie to be most impressive. Every part of it was hilarious! I have to admit, I was feeling as if I missed a few things when seeing it for the first time. But after seeing it again, I think I've got it now. Its so funny because me and my besties are total fanatics of the Pirates movies and already know ALL of the words xD

Oh and by the way, I did say for the extra scene after all of the credits, when we had asked the cleaning people after the movie was over if there was another scene, they said yes. We didn't know we'd have to wait after ALL the credits. It was quite funny because the guy kept getting confused as to which character was who, but it was worth staying for the extra scene. I almost cried xD

SavvyPink 05-29-2007 09:21 PM

I loved the movie, but did not stay through the credits. Although I know what happens. ;) I do feel as if I need to see it again also.

You mean there is something after the Elizabeth and their son scene?

Nah, she means the Elizabeth and mini Will scene.

Oh and I finally got what that scene symbolized!
It meant that Will did actually ferry the dead people
around, so when the flash of green light appeared,
his soul was free from World's End... or something
along the lines of that. Yay me!

I love the first scene. The "Hoist the Colors" song is
pretty haunting, so much I could recite it by heart now.
It pretty much summarizes the entire movie.

Take the first two lines for example...
"The King and his men stole the Queen from her bed
and bound her to her bones."

That translates into...
The Pirate King and the Bretheren Court stole Calypso
from the sea and bound her to her human form.

I love that song from the movie! I have the soundtrack and it is great. My favorite music from any of the three soundtracks is "The Kraken" in the Dead Man's Chest soundtrack.

????????????????

Sorry People, I don't really get the thing after the credits, someone want to explain it for me? And the funniest thing just happened; I was looking at other posts and A Guy I thought was Jack's brother, was Jack's father. Talk About Blonde...

SPOILERS BELOW

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I saw the movie a last week, and I didn't like it too much, but now after understanding a lot of it, I like it a lot. My favorite part was the Malestrom scene. That was incredible! I didn't stay for the credits, although I heard what happened. Will is reunited with Elizabeth and their son, and Will's soul returns to Earth, so they can be together. I thought Will wouldn't see Elizabeth for eternity/very much anymore, until I heard/read it. I plan on seeing the movie again this Summer, so I can enjoy parts I didn't understand before and see the ending.

Well, if you look at squiddy22's and my posts,
we explained that scene in the way we thought
it meant.

Pirates movies just can't been seen once. If you
just see it that single time, you won't understand
anything, or like anything, except for the last thirty
minutes. So if you have only seen the movie once,
get out there and see it again! :)

maxxkid 06-24-2007 02:52 PM

Acually, i was pretty sad when the found the Kraken dead... Beckett is cruel. Also, i wish he would of put up more of a fight when his ship was obliterated. I like to see bad guys suffer. >:D
I saw the Tia Dalma/Davy Jones thing coming. Not because they had plot hints, because movies often do that sort of thing. And when Tia Dalma was telling the story, she was sorta violent about it. There you go.
I loved the Jack in Davy Jones locker scene, especially with the crabs. "Rocks are following me . That's new."

Pink 07-10-2007 02:01 PM

I saw the movie and loved it! Half the time I was like, what? huh? but, besides that it was terrific! I can't wait until DVD :)

Jack Tree 07-13-2007 12:45 AM

ya the movies confusing first time thru watch it 1 or 2 more times you understand it well.:pirate41:

Ducky Wucky 07-13-2007 12:58 PM

The only thing I didn't like about the movie was the random part where Tia is like giant and she starts screaming then turns into crabs... It was random and odd.
Oh yeah, there is ONE more part that I didn't like. I loved the locker scene with jack in it, but it just kind of dragged on for a bit too long, but it was still funny.
Everything else was amazing! :)

Yeah, the crab part was really weird. The whole Jack-likes-to-eat-peanuts thing
also dragged on a bit too.

PinkTinkPixie 07-28-2007 08:20 AM

I heard there was actually a reason for all the peanuts. The creators, I guess wanted it to symbolize that jack had "gone nuts". I'm not sure if that's actually true or not, but I heard it somewhere ;)

Any scene where there were multiple Jacks (lol) were pretty cheesy, but also quite funny. My absolute least favorite scene in the entire movie would have to be the scene where Calypso was released. I just think it was a bit weird how she turned HUGE, and the way she spoke... not to mention the whole turning into crabs thing. Hehe.

But other than that, I think the movie was awesome. The death scenes were all extremely emotional (for me, anyway. That type of stuff makes me very sad), but were also some of my favorite scenes in the movie. I especially like the scene where Beckett dies, as much as I love his character. It was way cool :)
