Well I wasn't sure if someone made a thread for screenshots from the event but heres some I got.....

Thatch mentioned new weapons to come.....
http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...5_13-40-44.jpg

Thatch also mentioned that there may be larger wardrobes....
http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...5_13-42-43.jpg

GM's and Founders will host the feast.....
http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...5_13-44-55.jpg

New adventures will be coming (sorry didn't take quick enough for full thing) and more on the weapons.....
http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...15_13-37-3.jpg

On the Kraken.....
http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...15_13-6-48.jpg

On the Harkaway ship.....
http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...5_13-38-12.jpg

Chris 11-15-2008 07:33 PM

Cool although im afraid the new weapon shipment is most likely yet another set of weapon quests..... I like that thier type is a different color than everyone elses!

Founders Feast
Thatch: It will be hosted by the GMs and Founds, but Everyone is invited.

Kracken
Pirate: Where is the kracken?
Thatch: The kracken...
Thatch: Are you ready for this everyone?
Thatch: The kracken... is probably sleeping...because I have not run into him since i sailed with Captain Jack Sparrow
Thatch: Perhaps... you might meet the Kracken when you sail with Captain Sparrow

Harkaway
Thatch: Ah yes, the Harkaway!
Thatch: I have not seen it myself but I have heard Sir Vicotr is asking for your help in finding it.

Level Caps
Xavier: Pirates will be able to get even better <pirate>, but I don't know the timing
Pirate: Sir, can we expand levels.. over 40?
Xavier: We will Kate
Xavier: We'll be able to be bigger and stronger
-----------------
CURSE

Pirate: Xavier i would love another weekend of pvp contest
Xavier: well Captain Diamond
Xavier: I hear that the curse isn't done with us
Xavier: well I hear we're able to dance like zombies because the curse is still in us

Xavier: I don't know, but I know he is under the sea
Xavier: I have seen him myself

In other words, nothing much came of it besides more talk of the mysterious Harkaway and new weapons...

...oh, and the fact that EVERYONE is invited to the founders feast, but Founders and GMs are hosting it. Off to speak to Xavier hench at Exubia, I'll post what I learn from there when he comes.

Sven Osymthe 11-15-2008 07:41 PM

Jack thats pretty much all he mentioned earlier and he was joking around for a good while too.

Chris 11-15-2008 07:46 PM

OK so WHAT? There will be a founders feast but everyones invited and founders host it O_o look i paid for the game for a year i am not serving turkey and rum to a level 5! Lol jk but seriously this should be interesting....

Sven Osymthe 11-15-2008 07:51 PM

Not so sure exactly what will happen at the feast. Maybe some pirate can go and ask a GM when and if they see one.

Appreciate the thread becuz from where I was it was very difficult to distinguish the GM's comments through the carnival-like atmosphere and chatter...Does everyone indulge in a Rum fest before a GM makes an apperance??

Sarah 11-16-2008 01:11 AM

Thanks Jack and Chris. I hope they really are thinking of raising the cap on nort and weapons. Seems from that chat that at least they're thinking of it.

Kaionai 11-16-2008 12:35 PM

Didnt we already get a new set of weapons just recently? now there's more new weapons to come??? im confuse...

Deadpool 11-16-2008 02:15 PM

Ok today there's nothing stopping me from this. I'll try to make it this time. Hopefully I'll see at least one person I know.

Dr. Zeppers 11-16-2008 05:18 PM

Aye, it sounds like we are in store for yet another set of weapons quests (something they can probably easily insert) in an attempt to keep those of us that have progressed through most if not all if it more to do.. for awhile.

The feast thing sounds interesting only to the sense that I would guess maybe there will be some functions within the feast (attendable by all) that only the founder members will likely be able to perform. Just what im thinking.. no basis of fact. Thier description of the event is as always cryptic, we'll have to wait and see.

The news on the Kraken sounds a bit more 'dismal' than the last rounds of GM talks. Im guessing its being problematic, OR its something that will only be available in the next story quests "boss battle' (Gm suggested that you may only see it when sailing with Jack Sparrow which we never actually do)

Sounds like they are listening to us about the Notoriety/Weapons caps, and at least investigating giving us some more "playing room"... to keep us interested. They must be losing subscriptions from people tiring of lack of content. We see the departures on POF frequently.

Criticism is cheap... I am looking forward to more changes, more progress.
And appreciate what the Devs do, just wish it all seemed to make more sense (and was a bit faster) sometimes.

Poison elf 11-16-2008 05:25 PM

At least some got a bit more information then I did going to all these. Maybe we can find out a bit more than just a extremly broad and vague comment.

I did hear a few times of the curse coming again, was really tempted to do a quick double desolation right then and there. Be a interesting twist if that is left in the game.

Captain Del 11-16-2008 05:51 PM

At least we got alittle useful information out of them. But really, the only reason they sent out the GMs again was to probably keep those who are about to quit in suspense, to keep them thinking "I shouldn't quit now, they are probably coming out with something new soon". I just hope that those thoughts are true. (pretty much what Zep said is right)

No kidding! :laughks2:

Seriously, though, these things seem a little useless. Everyone crowds into one space, shouts out their requests/questions repeatedly and LOUDLY, and the GM's answer with the same vague answers pretty much every time, giving us nothing concrete whatsoever, then redirecting our attention away from the things we really want to the ever-exciting :rolleyes8: Feast.

Really, it seems like they're just throwing us crumbs to keep us interested.

This is what I found out from Ruby.
Code:

1.They are planning to put the Kraken into the game.
2.New clothes are coming.
3.They're planning to put Jolly Roger into the game.
4.Anybody can join the Gm guild.
5.To join the guild, you have to be invited and approved by the "Governers" of the islands.
6.Another curse by Jolly Roger will come.
7.Spanish soldiers and ships are coming.

And here's Ruby.
http://www.postimage.org/aV_P7QJ.jpg

Also,here's the conversation.
Code:

GUILD
"When the Governer wnats a new member,I'll remember to mention your name."
"It's an honor bestowed by the governers to seasoned pirates."
"So keep up sailing and being a good pirate and perhaps you might get an invitation to join us."
KRAKEN
"The Kraken is in Dead Man's Trough."
"You will need a strong ship and crew to fight the Kraken."
"The Kraken has a horrible breath."
FEAST
"Everyone's invited."
"The feast will last all day and night!"
"The feast will be hosted by the GMs and Founders."
"The feast will be in the 27th through the 30th of this month."
NEW CLOTHES
"There's a rumor that there's a shipment of new clothes coming."
"I hope the shipment of new clothes arrives before the feast."
JOLLY ROGER
"I doubt we'll ever be rid of him..."
"Usually the reason pirates want to see Jolly Roger, is so they can fight him."
"Jolly Roger is coming soon..."
THE CURSE
"Another curse is coming in the holidays!"
"Be prepared, the All Hallow's Eve curse wasn't the last.."
TREASURE FLEET
"I see you have been talking to Sir Victor."
"He is eager to commandeer the Harkaway."
ME:About the treasure fleet, does that mean that Spain is being added to the game with Spanish soldiers?"
Ruby:"Our developers are working on that."
Me:"Do you think Spain and France will get interested about the war between Garcia and Pierre?"
Ruby:"It's possible, the Caribbean would get pretty crowded if they do."

thanks to everyone who helped by posting some screenshots and other info. couldn't make the one today so I have no more as of now.

ukebec 11-17-2008 02:08 AM

Okay - for some weird reason none of my screenies took. But here's what I gathered...

.We've got another curse/PVP event coming up over Thanksgiving weekend

.The treasure fleet quest is on the way

.The Kraken is on the way

.They are working on raising the lvl caps, but they won't be pinned down to a time

.There appears to be an event on the horizon that will allow for new Founders (don't even get me started on that - heard it from 2 different GMs and I'm NOT a happy camper)

.New weapons are not far away - no idea if they're different or just upgrades

.Ship customization is in the works

.New clothes are in the works

.Nothing about pets

.I believe (based on the comments of several GMs saying "wear your best clothes") that there will be a type of "best-dressed" contest at the Founder's Feast

I attended 9 GM chats and this is what I got out of them. I don't guarantee or promise that my impressions are correct. This is just what I "got" from the chats.

*edited to say most GMs made the treasure fleet and the kraken sound like separate things, but one linked the two together, so I'm not sure about those.

Host GM Q & A

Some questions I heard from pirates, and the replies that the Host GMs said, this was all with Captain Walter

Q: Are the levels going to be extended anytime soon?
A: Our crew is currently working on that
Q:Is it true that pets will be added to the game?
A:What type of "animals" would you like?
A to the A(lol)" Parrots, dogs, monkeys
reponse:I have a parrot..and its not easy to keep the deck clean..
A:Monkeys would make great pets!
Q:I think guilds need more authority, can we add co-gm ranks for guilds?
A:I will deffinitelly put that in the suggestion box, Andrew (OMG he said my name! xD)
Q:Will we ever see the kraken?
A: The Kraken is with the EITC fleet..and is rumored to be heading our way

Speech: Jolly's Rogers curse will soon be returning!

Q:What can the curse actually do?
A:it can make you do this -does zombie dance-

-Andrew does zombie dance-
Response:Andrew, you are affected by Jolly's curse!
Q: Still? when does it wear off?
A: As soon as Jolly Roger is defeated once and for all!

mesmex110 11-17-2008 08:52 PM

i also heard from them that some new things will be coming before the year is it out :knife:

I know how you feel.I had a lot of questions, so I just stayed with Ruby so she can answer my questions. After the first server, and then going to the next one she would appear in,she would say...(She would say similiar things to the other players that did the same thing)

"Hello Peter"
"So many familiar faces, hello Liz,nice to see you again elizabeth, hello Peter, etc.
"What a nice surprise!Greetings Liz!Hello Peter!etc."

---After sugggesting my Undead Dutch idea---
"That's an interesting idea Peter, I will be sure to suggest that to the worksmith."

---After suggesting ideas abou Spanish clothes and French clothes---
"Great idea Peter, even though I'm not to fond of new clothes, I'll be sure to suggest it to the worksmith."

Either thats something to be added in the next update or.....nobody can join since there aren't any governers.

ukebec 11-18-2008 03:32 PM

I'm guessing the second option - being approved by the governors is a very polite, misleading way of saying no, without them having to take any personal heat over it. And I don't blame them.

ukebec 11-22-2008 09:55 PM

I had an issue with my screenies today on Tavern Takeover. I don't know if the lag kept them from saving, or if you can only hold a set amount of screenies in the file.

I only got one that pertains to game advances - even though I took 13-15. This is the idea that we be able to bury gold to circumvent the gold cap (which I think is a GREAT idea), and as another way of transferring gold to friends (and unfortunately I didn't get the whole convo):

http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...uryinggold.jpg

Sorry - I'm not great with images. She says, regarding the idea, "I'll take that to the overseers, it's a fine one Anne". I told her "Not my idea, but thank you." And she said to tell the one who's idea it was that it was a "sound one".

When I asked Rose Winsome directly if we could hope for a raise in the notoriety cap to at least 50 within the next 12 months she said "I think you will be very pleased". She also told another pirate she thought 50-60 was a very reasonable request.

I'm taking that as they've heard our pleas and are working on it.

When asked about the Harkaway Rose said she knew nothing about it. Rose is a no-nonsense GM. If she doesn't know she tells you right out instead of that mystical "there are forces at work" junk. But she also strikes me as not in-the-know for all the developments, so I'm not sure what to make of that.

Rose said she'd seen the Kraken, knows it's on the way, but knows nothing more than that. To me, in GM speak, this is again "we're working on it but don't know how long it's going to take". However, she also mentioned there is never an end to our tasks in the Caribbean. The way she said it (rotten screenies, I had it captured) led me to believe this is the next story chapter.

Captain Walter had an odd thing to say when questioned about pets in the game. He said he had a parrot given to him by an old sea salt for many errands he'd completed. This led me (and another pirate present) to deduce that pets will be a quest. Sounds like Gunner all over again IMO.

They're being much more cadgy about the return of the curse. I almost get the feeling they're not sure it will be ready for the Founder's Feast, which puzzles me, since the code is already there.

Both GMs (Captain Walter and Rose) again stressed for all pirates to look their best for the feast. Rose said the men "shouldn't smell like animals" and kept mentioning she needed to find her jewels to wear. She complimented several people specifically, saying they looked good for the Founder's Feast. When I asked Rose directly about the Founders' responsibilities during the feast she said Founders needed to "keep the fires lit and the dancing going into the night", so I'm still not sure if Founders have actual tasks to perform or not.

Again, info that the "smithees" are working on ship customization and new weapons

That's what I got from today. Hope it's helpful. I spent 3 hours stalking 2 GMs and they've probably got me on some watch list now, but if it tells us something new it's worth it.

Chris 11-22-2008 09:56 PM

to 50 over the next 12 months O_O" thats an entire year!

ukebec 11-22-2008 10:23 PM

I know - but it's next to impossible to pin them down on anything. I tried to be realistic without backing her up against a wall. And thinking about how long it took to get from 30 to 40...that could eat up a lot of time. And that other pirate said 50-60 and she thought that was reasonable. So maybe 60? Who knows. Maybe they have even a higher level planned and we just didn't ask the magic question. She didn't say "You will be able to reach X level notoriety by X date".

But, at least it's a light on the horizon. Beats the heck out of what we've got now. Call me easy to please, but I'm willing to take any advance at this point in time.

You've got to remember these meet-n-greets are a madhouse and you're lucky to get a straight answer to any question. I choose to view it optimistically (which anyone who knows me will tell you is as rare as hen's teeth).

Lies

Technical, they lied?

Poison elf 11-22-2008 10:52 PM

I hounded Thatch a bit this morning before I had to leave. I think the message of 40's basically with nothing to do has been passed on.

My view of the curse coming back with desolation as is, let alone cutlass, dagger skipped combos by many, leaves this still up in the air with cheat/glitch problems. When asked about this, I basically got a response you are quite a knowing pirate aren't you. May be some of this being worked out before we see a curse again is what I am wondering.

Did get a mention of a gorilla, while others spoke of what animals they would like to see. Jolly Rogers is always lurking. I couldn't help respond "less lurking more action" With the following = be careful what you wish for. So something with Jolly Rogers appears to be forth coming. Kraken was mentioned as well as the Harkaway again. There was also talk of ships, and what we would like to see. Captain quarters, with a place for gold, hook items and such was spoken out. Didn't get a comment about fury broadsides, haha.

Green circles and hay troves at Kings etc, I think awhile back I mentioned that in a post, perhaps a test server message, can't remember. Have never heard any other talk of that though. It would be nice for them to utilize some of these unused portions of the game, such as hiding our loot. As well as a use for the treasure that we have collected at no plausible use. Maybe I can get some of those things in tomorrow.

Still working at getting Thatch a real hat with a feather, haha.

Missed exactly what it was referring too, but got a comment that pirates make mistakes. I begged to differ, pirates don't make mistakes, they are just not working with a full deck of cheat cards.

I should start that as a poll, how many think I should have that as my tag, lol.

ukebec 11-22-2008 11:05 PM

I don't understand Horus...technical, they lied?

If you're asking if I think they've been lying, no I absolutely don't. Look, as magical as the game world can sometimes seem, these are regular folks working 9-5 jobs. They're doing the best they can. Just like everybody else on the job, stuff crops up that they didn't expect. Expectations are higher than originally planned on. In other words they're doing their best as fast as they can.

No, I don't think anyone of them is lying about anything. I think they're working to their best ability given a fluid situation.

These folks have a lot to juggle.

There are:

Those who want pets
Those who want increased notoriety levels
Those who want Captain's quarters on their ships
Those who want houses
Those who want more clothes
Those who want more jewelry
Those who want more tattoos
Those who want new weapons
Those who want a new story chapter
Those who want ship customization
Those who want every single glitched fixed
Those who want some glitches brought back
Those who want their weapons levels raised
Those who want the gold cap raised
Those who want different ship classes
Those who want new enemies

Sheesh...I'd be a basket case if I worked for Disney. No, I don't think any of them are lying. I think they're scrambling around trying to meet the most demanded requests as quickly as they can.

Last weekend I asked two of the GMs about what we would be required to do at the Founder's Feast, and one of them (I don't remember which one now) said not to worry, that everything would be taken care of. He said that there would be "lots of music and merriment." They do tend to stress the importance of dressing in our best clothes, however.

I don't think they have it too tough, they just need to set priorities (and maybe higher more developers).

1. Fixing glitches should be a given and an on going thing. They don't have to fix all of them, just the ones that impede game play, fix the others later. As far as those who want fixed glitches back, too bad.

2. Do those things that will keep players involved (and paying) first. That would mean a new story chapter which in turn means raising the notoriety levels and might also means higher weapons level or new weapons. More quest in general is always good.

3. Building on what is already there, like more cloths, jewelry and tattoos should be easy to add.

4. Things like captains quarters or houses, pets, new ship classes, and ship customizations are much more involved so probably should wait.

Just my thoughts on what the priorities should be.

In case it's too small to read, Xavier says:"The feast will also hold other surprises." "Such as pirates with blue nametags can receive a special item from tailors during the feast"

One note on this, they said they are working on it, but I would make sure to have a open space in clothes if you can. Tattoos had a problem for mothers day, if you had a full inventory you couldn't get it.

Hello Mates,
This may seem unbelievable to many, But I have been commissioned by Captain Walter to gather as many Founders for the feast as possible within the short period of time of Sunday (the 23rd of Nov) to Thursday, the starting day of the feast. I can tell you our Captain has a great heart for all Pirates and has special duties and expectations for Founders starting now at the Founders Feast and in the future. We as Founders need to gather together and take a leadership role within POTCO like never before.
With that said, I tell you Mates, a great leader is a good follower. As a Founder you are also a leader, and your are actually a servant of all, for such a position is not for self promotion but for POTCO edification.

The question was posed as to our duties at the feast, here is the precise answer,....

The GM's will not be attending the feast continually, our Captain and the rest our GM's need our help (Founders) in overseeing the Feast in their stead as we are co-hosts as stated. We are their honored subordinate servants if we want the task and I for one stand with my Captain in this honor.
During the feast, their may be some unusual competition events we will assist in overseeing. Many Pirates will be asking general question in regards to POTCO like quest leveling advice, weapons leveling advice, many various types of questions Pirates may not get the opportunity to ask of a high level Founder in normal day to day game playing.
I can’t tell you how many times a Pirate has come to me and asked of the Gold label and button next to my name, I proudly tell him (without sarcasm or selfish pride) of how I became a Founder, and further more how this honorable position dictates that I am here to help and advise him as best I can. (that degree is certainly at each Founders discretion based on the specific circumstances of the encounter) We must proudly stand and take our evolved position within Pirates of the Caribbean Online and not go into seclusion on the Test Server. (I love playing there as well, but open servers win most of my time)

With many Founders participating to this high calling we can assure POTCO and our GM’s are well represented, now and for future service. (and there will be)

Thanks Mates !

Welcome to POF Achilles.

It does seem somewhat unbelievable. Do you have some form of proof of your claim? It seems unusual that Disney would do this, all there prior actions indicate otherwise. I know some Founders (some in my Guild) that would be interested. But, I'd like to see more before I advocate on your behalf to help out.

Poison elf 11-25-2008 05:36 PM

I had a little proof. I asked a GM if Founders are Hosting this, then they have to serve all of us right?

He said something to the extent, If you could get them to do that you would be a mighty pirate. Ugh, well something like that.

So I have some aprons over here ==========>

All founders come get one, haha

ukebec 11-26-2008 02:21 AM

Hand over one of those aprons, mate. :D

Greetings Rackat of the Parrotheads,

Everything I’m telling you is true. I, like many of you are old players and Founders who simply desires to see POTCO flourish. I also have a burden to see Founders not fade into a wonderful aspect of POTCO that once was except for a few relics.
Really, I am not of any significance and I hope I am not portraying myself as such.
I am simply a messenger and gatherer as commissioned. I’m sure you’ll agree that the messenger isn’t significant but the message itself and the sender. I know the context of what is said makes perfect sense to all basically giving validity to the message. Even if I was acting on my own accord and didn’t mention being sent, wouldn’t the message make sense and inspire Founders to a higher calling and reassure them of their importance?
We can be great in numbers or diminish as lone wolves fighting for territory.
I hope we can muster together and stand strong. This accord will not take away any Founders personal identity nor origins within POTCO, but find university in that diversity. Let me declare,… Ubi concordia, ibi Victoria ! (Where there is the unity, there is the victory. -Latin)
Founders do have a honored place within POTCO and a unique purpose as well,.. the purpose is for the taking, a Founder will only find and receive if they seek it.
Please spread the word Mates,….BTW, Thank you for the statement of participation Poison Elf and Ukebec!!
Several of you I know, many more I do not,...I look forward to seeing and meeting many of you at the Founders Feast.

-Achilles

Ghostcannon 11-26-2008 08:14 AM

Great inputs from each of you guys...specially for some of us who didnt have the opportunity to meet one of the GM's, like me, due to some personal reasons.

Rackat 11-26-2008 01:57 PM

Jack Sparrow: That's just maddingly unhelpful. Why are these things never clear?

Well, I wish you luck mate. I can accept non-answers from the GM's because I don't have a choice, and they have a duty to be unclear to pique interest in the game. I can't advocate assistance with that less than clear answer.

Fair winds and following seas, Achilles.

I think its time - for Maximv's Multi Quote of the DAY-y-y-y~ :D

Thanks right folks - that when we see someone posting HUGH Claims of everything and anything - and we go seeking the REAL truth... ;)

Well nice goal - but almost too late now - no new content + too many bugs which affect players + fixing 'bugs' which were not hurting players but they were enjoying = almost everyones gone

Ok, have you actually read your own statement in your first post? Your very first line is 'I have been commissioned'...

Well why haven't I or Rabbit or Zep or Sarah or 100's if not 1000's of other great players that I know been commissioned who put huge efforts into this game to keep it entertaining and exciting, helping others and encouraging players? Why are you the 'chosen one?' Many excellent players have received squat...

Sorry - but with so many posters and their 'fly by night' posts - the Messenger is MORE inportant than the message.

Sure except a) these speeches have been given before - including myself to keep spirits high and b) Founders (which I am one) are just paying customers now being asked to do the job of what Disney Staff get PAID for and we TRY to do already - and that is keep players intersted!

Maybe if Disney would stop for a minute - come here - maybe do a round table (or just read some of the post) with members who arent being 'uber-filtered-to-death' and lets work out what need to be done.

And once again - unless Disney has a) something great coming out and b) starts listening to us players - this is alread a done deal (And fix my Hex Shot, 5 seconds a point will do).

And you just lost most of the kid audience with that one so I guess its the adults left to read that.

Nice 'Disney Riddle'... you come up with that one yourself? If this was Steeley Jim posting then I would get it (another good member lost a while ago) ;) How about post what were seeking instead of playing Batman and Riddler with us...

First - a welcome :D Now onto matters...

Well, participation is one thing - server location is another....

Obviously with all the servers listed the few GM's we've seen cannot cover them all at once (if at all) - yet - there is no directions as to how this is handled? So if I show up on Gaalacare Server how am I goning to know what to do?

Too many riddles - no instructions - sounds too Disney. Sure - I'll show up for a short time, and sure I will do my best to do good things to encourage others and give hints (when my chat isnt filtered to death) - but Disney had better get a handle on it.

Ya know - I want Disney to send ME a PM... send me an e-mail... I'll make arrangements to put 30 people in a POTCO 'room' to discuss matters with the GM's... will I see it? nope... Too bad I leave for 3 weeks in a few days to actually take my family to Walt Disney World - my luck I'd actually get a response to that the day after I left...

No wonder players are dropping the game like flies, the fact we've lost several posters this week alone shows players are fed up with all the babble talk and no results.

( Oh, and fix my Hex Shot - 5 seconds a point - 10 seconds to start - and the chat box - fix it so F12 clears the text again - then we can call it a good thanksgiving :) )

ninety3rd 11-27-2008 01:27 AM

Hmmm

Here is my tuppence worth of input --

During the Tavern Takeover, I saw each of the GMs what was Taverning, and each at least twice. Including Capt Walter.
I specifically asked each one, "What are us Founders supposed to do at the Feast?"
Not one, including the good Captain, mentioned anything about "doing" anything. Only that we are asked to attend and "join in the celebration" with ALL pirates. That was it.
(The GMs all made a point to repeat the, "It's for ALL pirates" slogan over and over.)

Since Disney knows about these forums, if they wanted to convey a "message" then they could easily have one of their folks come on here and do it his/herself.
They also know when players' accounts started and could simply send an email to all "Founders" (even easier to do.)

That's my tuppence, keep the change.
