How was your full moon experience?

Mine was not very exciting. But that was my fault. I had to go to a quiet server because there were so many people on the one I was on, it got very laggy. So I transported and no one was there but me. I turned into a skelly. Cool! But I could not transport once that happened, nor could I go into any buildings. Sooooo. How was your night? Come on and share!

Sith kinght pirate 11-01-2008 12:57 AM

when i was undead on a full sever i hid in the sea and none found me! LOL

whiskey 11-01-2008 12:57 AM

I think it has been fun.

The 1st time, on a semi-crowded server, mass mele. I wish the undead would have only attacked the living, but many were busy attacking everything.

The 2nd time the moon came out, I went to a quiet server, but being undead didn't stop my weapons advancement.

The nice thing, when you are undead, if you die and go to jail. you don't become groggy.

Nice screenshots Edward. And mine went pretty much like the first only with a ton of lag. Other then that it was pretty fun.

Bonnylass64 11-01-2008 01:13 AM

Yes there were soo many people and way too much lag. Thats why I transported. Thanks for the pics !! Looks very cool :)

nitnek 11-01-2008 01:18 AM

I've posted some screenshots of this event at 5PM in this section : http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/f...8199#post88199

It was really cool! Can't wait until tomorrow to replay it ! :D

Fillyteen 11-01-2008 01:54 AM

though i am a level 40, I had some pirates attacking me that were alive and not undead. I couldn't escape the three of them until I used my staff and grenades

Jack Garrett 11-01-2008 02:41 AM

sorry if i hurt someone's feelings, well except for Disney's, but this was the lamest idea for Halloween. what they should have done for Halloween was, have costumes that you could buy in the clothing stores. just to wear for the weekend maybe?

i guess the best thing about it was you didnt get groggy from dying.

charle88 11-01-2008 03:33 AM

I had so much fun!I killed 4 pirates before I died.....Then,I joined a Skeleton Hunting Party, and killed 3 more pirates!I think I even saw Swashbuckler II.

Lenna 11-01-2008 03:58 AM

I found it to short for the amount of time I had to wait. Alot of people were very upset and dissapointed. I believe disney could do a better job. It was fun, but I wanted a littler big longer. Too many longer weeks of waiting just to be over in a few minutes. It could'nt be a better performance. Come , is disney.

Jade McKidd 11-01-2008 04:40 AM

From the moment I heard about this idea from the GM, and Disney, I thought it was lame and silly, but the one bright thing about it is that it lasts for only about 10 minutes or so! I logged on just to see what everyone would look like, and then I left, and now I know not to go during the witching hour and wait about 10 minutes and then I can play the game if I so choose.

I like the idea Jack Garrett said above about buying halloween clothes for the weekend, too bad Disney rarely listens to what it's target audience is saying about the game or what it wants!

Hope those who waited for this had alot of fun though, Cheers!

panda_baby 11-01-2008 05:35 AM

It was really fun! I was on the hill of turtugo, throwing seige bombs and killing large groups of people. Then I ran out of nades, and ran down the hill. Oh boy a group of of level 40s was there waiting for me, and brought me down with their bladestorms. ****. I wish it would last longer. They should do it every friday!

This is what pirates should be all about, mayhems and tirades!

Deadpool 11-01-2008 02:31 PM

I'm sure for atleast half of us it ended like this...

Deadpool 11-01-2008 02:55 PM

Ain't that the truth. I died soon as it started lol. Hex Eater was my best friend while I was fighting. I ran out though lol. So I just pulled out my cutlass and fought like there was no tomorrow.

Aaron McEagle 11-01-2008 03:02 PM

???

If you die when this is going on, can you still fight?

Deadpool 11-01-2008 03:04 PM

Yes, but only undead players.

Aaron McEagle 11-01-2008 03:08 PM

Sweet, im going to go to a quiet server and pick on the little guys. Then maybe later go aginst others.

SO FUN!

Lenna 11-01-2008 03:41 PM

Hi
Yes, I agree with you. Disney did not listen to what we have to suggest has customer. It will be nice it at least they will considerate some of our suggestions as pay customer. After all we are the ones that plays the game for very long hours. I thought that the idea of bringing the undead to the islands it was going to be like in the movies. We were going to be invading by a bunch of skeleton coming from a ship and we were going to defend the island. That will be cool. I want to share that I play the tree times, and after each one people were argument which each others. There were insulting and getting rude. I reported a lot of them to Disney. I don’t think it was a good idea to attack each others. It was funny, but I know some people got upset, not to mention it was too short. One more thing, after you go to jail, you become a human, know is more people and less skeleton to fight. DISAPPOINTED!:130:

Captain Seaford 11-01-2008 03:47 PM

I didn't really like mine. I lagged so bad, my computer froze and woke up in jail. All that I know is I saw a bunch of -67, -39, -120, you know, in a gigantic croud of undead people who were attackin' each other!

Well, it's still again today...

Poison elf 11-01-2008 03:58 PM

I truthfully found it pretty boring. Though it did have its extremely short "NEW" aspect to it. Running a few characters at least made it last a tiny bit more longer.

Really only thing fun about it was when letting my son run one of the 40 level characters, and chasing him around. Little stinker also figured out ya couldn't get to him out in the water, lol.

My overall view, another extreme poor excuse for down grading characters again.

40 level characters with nothing to do for 6-9 months receive =
Cannon reduction, more than half damage.
Dagger 25% reduction.
Choice in combos in dagger and cutlass/ sell back in points.
Lost of Hex shot.
Lost in all pvp damage from 1/2 damage, to 5 times less damage in all weapons.

Increases to characters 0, so that is 0 and 6 in moving the game forward in last number of events poorly chosen.

Even with these reductions, the event was way to fast. A Lot due to once fighting normal players, you had to stop to fight. This reverting to the mass doll users attuning you. Didn't care for pistol being taken out of the picture in this area. Nor the huge amount of damage reduction in this weapon following the last release stating increase in it.

Captain NightWolf 11-01-2008 04:03 PM

Fun but disappointing at the same time...all the hype and it's over as fast as it starts...what I truly do love is the wicked new sky...hopefully we'll be able to keep it around as a bad storm coming into port sort of warning or something along those lines...would hate to lose it just because it's for this event only...

The Krewe all met up on the same server at the Skellar...then a couple of us hung outside waiting for the transformation...after we changed the rest came out...we had a good laugh...did the /zombie...then we started to battle for fun against each other until others, including a few LvL 40's, decided to come in and try to jump us...I took them out with a staff fired up with Flaming Skulls...a few managed to escape by running into the catacombs...the funny thing was watching peeps use their tonics too early while I waited till the very last second which gave me the edge over them...

Then you'd think they would've had enough but they kept coming back to PvP attacking us while we were clowning around some more...so once more I fired up the staff and took out Mob Boss and his minions and some of the others who tried to get in our way of fun...

Hehehehe...then the Krewe saw me as the last skellie and then they all jumped me...hahaha....I swears they be the finest bunch of Pirates what ever a Pirate could be...

Aaron McEagle 11-01-2008 04:17 PM

Does it start at 12 ET?

William 11-01-2008 04:43 PM

today events are at 12:00 - 16:00 and 21:00 PST

in my opinion this is a good event and i am enjoying it, but i would like it more if it lasts at least half an hour, not just 15 min

yesterday i moved to a quiet server before the event start, so i wasted a lot of time looking for someone to kill :frankenstein2:

i wont do it again, today i will try abassa

see ya:wink:

Canitobkn 11-01-2008 04:44 PM

I missed all the fun, I was busy all day, and then when I logged in, turned out that I´ve just run out of unlimited access time and the curse was broken 2 mintes after i logged in XD.

Evie 11-01-2008 05:20 PM

Honestly, I was surprised at how fun this was. I think since it doesn't last too long, it made for a fast & furious game that was fun, but didn't really interrupt regular play too much.

As for how we did, the first time was so confusing, we had no idea what we were really doing. The second time we got our guild together, lined up on Tortuga beach, lit up our staffs with flames, and owned. :pumpkinani:

whiskey 11-01-2008 05:21 PM

Deadpool 11-01-2008 06:14 PM

I was one of the first to die. I had three undeads chasing me so I went into Misty Mire to wait for them. I guess you can't fight outside the main grounds.

Notice the Voodoo doll by friends list.

whiskey 11-01-2008 06:27 PM

Sure, you can fight away from the main grounds. I went into Rats nest, and underground into the royal caverns......

Deadpool 11-01-2008 06:29 PM

Well I guess they didn't bother chasing me lol.

Deadpool 11-01-2008 07:53 PM

I was just on Tortuga Abassa and it is rough there. It was also confusing, funny, sad, and painful.

Some folks can't understand at all and keep asking the same questions: "HOW DO I BE UNDEAD?", "HOW DO I FIGHT OUTSIDE PVP?","WHATS PVP?", and so on and so on... even after the answer was already told. Some just don't listen.

Oh the lag!!! Need I say more?

It was funny watching the fights. A noob came up to me said: " If you be my friend I won't hurt you". My response: "Hey! Over here!" followed up by bladestorm.

Confusing how you may ask? Try being surrounded and not knowing who to fight.

Captain NightWolf 11-01-2008 08:25 PM

It rather saddens me to hear and read that all these Level 40's have to go to Tortuga or wherever far lower in Noteriety players dwell just to make themselves feel good...it's the same for these so called masters that still have to glitch to level their weapons...

Face your enemies head on...don't cower while hidden in rocks or whatever...same with this curse...if you're a so called Master...find other opponents worthy to fight...otherwise your level of mastery is just a big lie...you took the easy way out by glitching and hiding from your fears...

"ooo...look at me...I'm scary cause I'm LvL 40...now watch me use my magnificent powers on a LvL 5..."

Laff...

Big Boss on PDF

Was making sum progress in killin undead til the Big Boss appeared on PDF...lol I had him for awhile...but his health kept regenerating...almost made me dead til I received assistance from a guild member. Been in all so far as a pirate...haven't been undead yet. But it was alot of fun IMHO...kinna like pvp but I wasn't dead. It's amazing how you can turn on your own guild members in this situation...lol Almost feel bad about making them go to jail.....(wink)

Captain NightWolf 11-01-2008 09:16 PM

aka I save her from the Big Boss...she repays me by sending me to jail since I was the last skellie on PDF...lol

(winks back)

Bonnylass64 11-01-2008 09:26 PM

I agree with posters who said it did not last very long. I am surprised that it was over so fast since we have to wait so long for it to start.

Deadpool 11-01-2008 09:29 PM

Yeah, like I said before, you wait for hours and hours to have a ten minute free for all.

Umm, there are a lot of 40's on Tortuga. Its not just newbies getting blasted ;)

Though those are fun too. Hey, if they're outside standing next to the rest of us, they're fair game.

But we're kinda alternating places/islands. We're trying Padres next. See what happens.

Eric Daggerskull 11-02-2008 01:44 AM

I remember earlier today getting together with some BBK guild mates. When the five minute warning came on, everyone left to go stand outside except for lizzy. Lol I died almost instantly.

League 11-02-2008 01:47 AM

Somebody: How do you fight outside of PvP?

I hack them with a sword.

League: That's how!

On a more serious note, yet, altogether, not serious at all, I haven't been on, nor do I have any idea of whether what I'm saying is possible or not. I had a thing to do on Halloween. I dunno if it's still on, so I'll guess I'll go check.

Tito Jorge 11-02-2008 02:54 PM

Very disappointing ...

Took my level 36 pirate to Port Royal ...

After waiting for so long for the moon to become full ... there were so many people moving close together at the same time ... that the lag was terrible ...

I could not move ... and ended up in jail faster than you can say Jack Sparrow ...

Such a long wait for so lame an experience ...

Im not impressed Disney ...

whiskey 11-02-2008 03:02 PM

try again today, but on a less populated server. If you stay away from the most densely packed oceans, it can be a great bit of fun!

Aaron McEagle 11-02-2008 03:04 PM

To me it's ok.....

Jack I 11-02-2008 04:23 PM

I tried it one time yesterday, on my lag infested computer. I have to agree with what other people have said about the lag being terrible during the full moon, but it was indeed an interesting experience. Sitting on Tortuga waiting for the moon to go full cycle, there were a good 15 - 20 other people around the island with the same intentions in mind. I ended up being one of the last 4-5 on the tortuga mainland that was a skeleton, then took out 3 of the other 4 before the moon waned over and the curse was lifted.

Overall, it could have been slightly executed better, possibly having it so that anyone cursed could not run in to the woods or anywhere to get away, as the last skeleton just couldn't accept defeat and disappeared through one of the giant archways to the Tortuga Graveyard. Also, maybe have it last a bit longer. 10 minutes was a nice idea for an event such as this, but it doesn't give you the full opprotunity to search the islands for cursed pirates.

The Skirata Clan 11-02-2008 05:04 PM

mine was utterly horrible. i waited a long time for it to happen. first a few pirates were there about 6 or so. after 20 min. there was like 25 or so, all higher levels. by the time the 5 min. warning came there was 60 or so, but it might have been 100. one min. before i got major lag, then got disconnected. by the time i got back there was only 10 cursed and everybody was hunting them down.

Evie 11-02-2008 05:07 PM

I actually liked that you could run into the jungles. Chasing/being chased through more than just the town added a new element for me. One pirate chased my husband through Kings Run with her doll and took him out completely, then turned to come after me. If you don't want them to get away, run after them! It allows for more than just a mob attack ;)

combatlizzy 11-02-2008 05:24 PM

Full Moon experience was a Howling Event!!!!!!

Oh, don't get me wrong, I loved the aspect of having to chase them through the jungles and such, it's just that with so many people causing lag on a server if they even get the slightest head start through a tunnel, they're gone before you even get to the next map. ^^

AdmiralSavvy 11-02-2008 05:59 PM

My first full moon experience was rather depressing. My guild and I were oh so ready to dominate the area, but then I had a lag attack and was disconnected right when we became undead. :(
The second experience was better, I was able to kill about 5 people (Not noobs!!!) before I eventually died, (love those seige charges).

Overall I rate this event a 8/10; the lag is almost unbearable but the fighting without PvP is my kind of thing, since I don't offically do PvP unless it's against a guildmate or friends. :D

swashbuckler II 11-02-2008 06:24 PM

Rather amusing to me seeing all that damage, considering my first time was down below and I got staffed to death before I could walk 3 steps.

:p

My experience wasn't particularly good with the full moon thing.

It seemed all the punks from PvP came out to terrorize most of us decent ppl while we were trying to enjoy the special event. I found myself having to defend the ladies in my guild more than actually participating in the "fun." In addition, the event made the whole game extremely unstable (i.e., ALL enemies would skip about instead of playing through their respective "walk" animations).

I noticed a LOT of cheating during the events. There were some who thought it acceptable to glitch onto the tops of hills and behind "treelines" to flame skull and siege charge everyone else. As you can imagine, I became quite heated at this.

I did have the great pleasure of knocking out a Lvl 40 on Tortuga. The delinquent punk was glitched behind the treeline on the east side of the coast, just behind the shacks supported by stilts.

How did I do this?:swordpirate:

I wedged myself between the huts, just close enough to bust the deadbeat with several shots of maxed steel shot from my grand pistol. It was funny to see my targeting reticule move about as he tried to get away. He eventually moved a bit.

I tracked him to a wedge in the wall just north of the gunsmith shop in town. I continued hammering that bloke with steel shot, alerting my crewmates to the egregious offense taking place. One of my crewmates managed to get behind the wall; she helped me finish the offender off. And yes, I was saying things like "Cheater!" in the local chat. He knew I was after him. It felt great to shout "VICTORY!" and run the "/celebrate" emote when he went down :)

So I can't say my experience was all bad. I did get to exact a little justice against a cheater. The only thing I feel bad about is decimating a poor lvl 2 who must've been caught outside unawares.

Sith kinght pirate 11-10-2008 12:10 AM
