Promotions and Demotions
 

One of the requirements for being an officer, as stated in the guidleines posted as a sticky, is that the player be actively participating ingame. This means that they are an active player. Although there is no absolute definition of "Active" , absences of months are considered to be periods of inactivity.

At a meeting of the officers last night, it was decided that there were a number of officers who should be considered as Inactive. The players in question have not been ingame on a regular basis, and in some cases, have not been seen at all, for a period of at least two months.

These people were demoted from officer status:
Azulada / Ziza
Ned
Eliza
Mia
Yemeya
Pip

Should any of these players return to active status, return to become participating members of the guild, they will be reconsidered for their role as officers.


At the same meeting, it was decided to promote new officers. The following were promoted:

Blue Cheesethrower
Due to his participation, his helpfulness to other guild members, and his time in guild, Blue was promoted to officer. Blue is especially helpful to little pirates when they are in need of cannon and sailing rep. It has been noted that Blue gives his warships over to junior pirates for the chance to earn rep.

Reaver
Reaver hasn't been in the guild as long as some others, but he has proven his willingness to help others, often dropping everything to aid. Reaver also has given away quite a bit of gold as prize money in guild events and contests, accounting for at least 2 guild members getting their first War Ship due to his generosity.

Congratulations to both of our new officers!

Other names were discussed, and have been taken under consideration. There will probably be another announcement in 2 or 3 weeks.

And yes, it was Prob that caused me to lose my eye, a bat ( the flying kind- not the home run kind), my eye, and a pistol were involved. In his defense he did find some bronze and make me a nice matte finish replacement eye. Gives me headbutts some extra ooomph .)

Due to his defection to WoW, and his inactivity ingame, Reaver will be demoted from officer status. He has been gone for over 2 weeks, and his official posting on the welcome thread yesterday states that he will not be coming back on a regular basis.

One of the requirements to be an officer is regular involvement in the guild.



We are considering a few promotions, and although it is the officers who have the final vote, I would like some input from the guild at large as to who they think would make a good officer. If you would like to recommend someone, you can either post it here, or if you are shy about it, you can PM me.

Now not only do you have to embrace the insanity...but you get to help run the nuthouse.

It was a little insane here at Basil's Castle last night, so I didn't get to finish the posting.

Not only did Max get promoted to officer, But I have decided to give official titles of CO-GM. The guild has grown too large for just me to handle. And it seems that every time I log in, there are more new members. (Not Complaining!)

Sarah has always been the Co-GM, but never had the title. I want to make that official. (If it wasn't for her constant prodding, I would never have started DW, or asked all the old TEC members to make the move.)

Also, I am asking that Tandy and Kelly become Co-GM's.

These are the poeple that I would like to have take resposibilty for the guild when I am not available. Any officer can add members, or, in extreme cases, remove them. But, I would like it if there is a problem, concern, or anything else, if I am not ingame when it occurs, take it to one of these three.

We now have a ratio of about 19 officers to around 190 players. I intend to try to maintain that ratio of 10 to 1.

Future promotions are probably forthcoming in the next few weeks. I have at least one more person in mind for officer, but need to discuss it with the other officers.

First, thanks (though on Vent I was screaming *no way! You're all into the grog LOL :D* - I typed in yea, ok ;) ). It is a very busy time for me though here in RL, so I'll be more 'back seating officer' for now ;)

I had them custom made, black heavy wool lined with green silk. Paid a pretty Knut for them too.

I'm sorry to say it, but due to extreme inactivity, I demoted Maliani and Cherry, and Li Seaskull from officer status today. Should they become more acitve ingame, they will be reconsidered for restoration to officer status.

I also demoted two of Sarah's pirates back to member status, at her request. We are going back to the limit of two officers per player, instead of allowing ALL of one players pirates to be officers.

Any other officers who would like changes to which of their pirates has the officer tag, please let me know. I know some of you have switched which pirate you are now playing.

Regarding thinning the officer list.... just make my Kelly an officer. It's never a problem to me to switch to her if I need to do guild business.
