Full Moon Fever

Spooky things are happening in the Caribbean this Halloween and the winds and tides be not the only thing affected by the full moon on All Hallows' Eve. Jolly Roger has worked his magic to bring a horrible curse to the Caribbean - and enslave all the Caribbean as part of his undead army - a curse that be prompted by a full moon.

To any Pirate that be on land and struck by moonlight they be cursed! While those that are at sea or inside, be safe ... for a time ... beware the full moon mates! And beware Jolly's undead army ...

New Emote?

Already Jolly Roger's magic is working its way through the Caribbean, as we've seen many Pirates hypnotized by a strange trance that comes over them without warning! To see if you're affected, open a Chat Window and type /zombie ...

Question Chris: Are these times pst or ??? Hate to get undead because I had the wrong time zone...lol I can prolly get that way on my own without a time mix-up!!!

At the bottom of the image it says All times are Pacific Standard.

What did they say the zombie emote was for? And is this event like every man for himself, all out brawl, do what it takes to win, or weee!!! look at me I'm undead and you're not?

The zombie emote is just an emote they were stretching the truth when they said " To see if you're affected, open a Chat Window "

EDIT: Im just wonderin it didnt say how long the moon would last...

Oh... well we're all affected. I hope it lasts for a few hours so I can make it on all of my pirates.

I understand there are some people that would disagree but this is just my opinion.

Disney once again suprises me with this schedule, why can't they just have the moon come up once ever half and hour and last fifteen minutes?

Hopefully these will last longer than I think they will.

My question, though, is will the sky turn to night or does it have to be night?

I missed the fireworks because it wasn't at night/dark. Obviously they don't have time zones integrated into the game. <---which would make it a whole lot more fun in my opinion.

Ok people This event is just for the looks.
there will be no killing other people/noobs lol.
But I do wanna kill noobs tho.
besides there is a pvp button for a reason.

So if we log on at those times, your pirate appears on screen and BAM...you're in the middle of tortuga and undead immediately because you haven't had time to run indoors and get out of the moonlight? (solution - get online early if you don't want to become the undead) or changing server and you're placed right under the moon? So is it definately some pvp thing, the undead vs the living?

As for the time differences, i'm GMT so the times are all 8pm and over :) So when it says the full moon will be at 12 noon does it mean it will only be for like 15 minutes then go until the one at 5pm, or there will be a sudden moonlight sweep across the whole game and anyone caught outside at that time is undead?

Guess Lizzy will be playing alot of B/J or poker...or spending alot of time in jail...which, of course, is not out of the norm (grin)

I'm wondering why people are worried about turning undead...won't the effect just go away when the moon and this event are done?...or do we indefinately turn into undead when the moon is out?

Same here really... it appears to be an 'open' PvP type event... so I guess if your undead its like having a target on ya but if thats the case... I'm going to Port Royal and have me some fun with the new players! LOL :D

This is the impression all seem to be following.

However when it was brought up to the GM's as they told the tale... they indicated there was no PvP involvement.

We'll all have to wait and see I guess.. im gonna crew up with Max if it is.. lol

I'm confused as to whether it will be a pvp like event, as the GM's said it wouldn't, as well as the fact that you have to admit it won't be fair for new players if a bunch of 40's mob them lol. Also, it seems as if we will have some big quest to complete, maybe it will be different for the living and undead? im not sure. But most of my TH guild have said if it's like pvp, they're all coming for me lol they can try... :) I don't want to be the undead simply because i don't want to look like the undead as i will spend much money on my pirates clothing, but if i don't get out of moonlight fast enough, so be it but i prefer being the hero to the villain. :p Though if it's over the whole weekend, why not just try both anyway? I'm sure i read something about getting killed and being sent back to jail as no longer the undead (indicating it WILL be like pvp).

Well I should clarify my intentions... by fun I mean go to PR, and mostly stand there as groups of players attack me to see if they can gang up and defeat me...

But all the while have my 2nd pirate on as a healer hidden somewhere attuned to me :D That way I just keep healing and spooking them out LOL :D

Now I only see it as a partial PvP becasue it had somewhere posted that those undead would be sent to jail and be 'cured' afterwards... so even I'm not sure what they mean :)

Aww man... the last day of it is November 2. I'll be busy that day, but I guess I'll have time for a few fights te other days.

Basically about every 2 hours the full moon in the game will come out and all pirates in the game will be undead and can hurt each other. If you are in building or on ships you are un affected.

lol in a nutshell

All I can say, I see drastic damage reductions in pvp on test server.

Only one reason I can come up with for that, that is so everyone not bothering to level a character or pay for a account can run around not get damage they should? Sorta like sailing and lets take characters cannon damage away.

So I think there is going to be some sort of pvp. Just hope its even, and both sides can fight back.

If its pvp, I will classify anyone that hasn't bothered to make a character to 20 or more fare game as one who has complained to lower everyone else's stats. These are only targets I am after, since its not like I could do bb or something with stats all reduced now.

BTW how the heck do you set one mouse to run three separate 40 level computer characters to do same actions, haha.

So I be a pray'n , for no clouds, and lets the curse conquer the Caribbean. Cause I be a much more Jolly pirate being able to do something, even if it takes being buddies with Jolly Roger.

yeah that's what i was confused about as the clocks went back an hour so i don't know whether there is that 8 hour difference still between GMT and Pacifc time, but i'll be on early anyway. :) should be the correct times yes.

Starting in the Pacific Time Zone - you add one hour to each zone coming east....

Hawaii - 9am (-3), Alaska - 11am (-1), Pacific - 12pm, Mountain - 1pm (+1), Central - 2pm (+2), Eastern - 3pm (+3), Atlantic - 4pm (+4), England - 8pm (+8)

I hope they give us an option to not be attacked if we are just questing.

Also the "outside" thing. I think you will have to be "outside" on a main island, and not in one of the internal jungles/caves.

There is a distinct reason I NEVER enter PVP, and always click NO when asked.

Might be a good idea there Zep. On my little pirate Big Mike. I don't even have a doll yet. So I don't want anybody just come out of nowhere and "BOOM" Flaming Skull me to jail. Bein basic I really got nothing better to do but sneak up on people that day.

Its a neat idea.. mind you.

Im guessing that something similar is whats responsible for the screenshot POTCO has had posted a long time, showing Tortuga swarming with undeads.

You wanna see that just go to abassa that day lol.

Ayup. Nothing serious, nothing permanent.

Just a few minutes of hilarious PVP, and over.

It was about 10 minutes in length... no rewards, no gold... (for killing other pirates) just chaotic.

And poof your regular again.

Nothing like what i expected, all excited for hours of waiting and it was over in less than ten minutes. It is fun, but way too short and i would have wanted a quest with a reward item instead. Just a waste of ammo for me this is...

However i did see a host GM chatting in Andaba Tortuga, but he vanished before the full moon arrived (of course he would). Brilliant job of building excitment, but unfortunately once it's over it's not a very brilliant event.

Also, it seems as if there definately isn't ANY chance for the undead in this event, when it starts nearly everyone is undead and kill each other, those killed then become living and eventually the undead will always be outnumbered. This is a way for them to simply say they defeated the undead and lifted the curse.

Edit: Third full moon was a lot more fun this time. All our guild got together at Padres and went undead and banded together, there was this level 40 girl that just wouldn't quit trying to beat us, too bad there was 8 of us all against her :) and we all survived but were changed back to living anyway, which was silly.

It was a joke. I wasted of time. Make us to wait for some many weeks, just to find out that you have to fight your friends. Then not just that it only last 10 minutes if your were lucky to play. They could a better job with rewards.

that was indeed a major waste of time, i waited for god knows ho long then when it was about to start, i had huge lag then i disconnected. there was just every pirate and their moms there. very pointless.

Let me just sum this whole thing up for everyone. (best i can lol)

Noobs were picked on.
The undead usually lost.
It only lasted about TEN minutes.
Every pirate for his/her self.
Lag City!!!

Other than that it was fun, and as I predicted the "mountain" in Tortuga was used to full advantage. I hope this will happen again and last longer.

I just killed them noobs. Pretty fun. I didn't even die and my undead power turned off. Any one know why?

IF you dont die in the 10 minutes when the curse is broken you revert back to human... :)

What happens IF you die? Do you get to remain un dead!

If you die, you head to jail, but without groggyness.

If you do not die, you will revert back to normal after the curse is beaten, or five minutes or so.

Yep, once u die ur human and must fight Skeletons.My experience on it was

Very fun if u don't die
Have full ammo and toncis before event

lol! true, saw a lot of them run into the ocean when the undead became outnumbered. Also, many of them did stay on the hill in Tortuga and there was very few able to glitch through to get them (me included, but no one followed me through so they got me). Though i then decide to throw siege charges back at them and caught one of them :D

The top 2-3 servers just before the event started all my friends got disconnected, and missed becomming undead.

I saw a few low levels shooting people on the hill. So I caught them by surprise when I got each one of them in two shots lol. When I went up there though I was burned alive with flaming skulls.

How do you get into the hill?

By the house on stilts closest to the shipwright. You go to the left and keep running toward the house.:h-face:

Huh, so nothing really happened except you turn into a zombie for a couple minutes and you can dance. I like the dancing emote idea, but at least have everyone become undead for at least ten minutes more!

they really should of done something more.....being the big 1st year.

On the last Muertas Moon, a few of my guildies and I were up on the hill. DESTROYED the place. I was throwing seige charges out into the beach area. You can't see the "hill people" from the beach, but you can from inside the town square area.

It would be nice if they would add Muertas Moon into a regular part of the game. Even if it's reserved for a particular time each day, it would be cool.
