How much lag do you have on the game?

Ever since the update the lag has been terrible for me, how much do you get?

*my first poll :D *
The lag I get is crazy, sometimes is just crashes out of nowhere...I was told it was because I have DSL

Sven Osymthe 10-26-2008 11:34 PM

lol the only time that I really have lag is when both Svens are runnin around

Andrew 10-26-2008 11:36 PM

-shiver- you dont wanna see my lag when Andrew and Jr. are both runnin on the same cp
-shudder-

Sven Osymthe 10-26-2008 11:38 PM

well i've seen when just Andrew is on......scary stuff there lol

Deadpool 10-26-2008 11:39 PM

I mostly just lag in abassa but it's not that bad. The worse it ever was was before they had a limit on mayhem.

Andrew 10-26-2008 11:41 PM

lol yea, just imagine DOUBLE the lag I get now..lets just say it runs something like this:
...............-takes a step-.................-Andrew crashes-.................Andrew Jr. runs normally.......-logs Andrew back on on 2nd launcher..............-Jr. Crashes-

There was a time where it was running pretty good with both, but thats only if you have alot of patience ;)

Sven Osymthe 10-26-2008 11:49 PM

lol well for the Svens its been working fine, somehow i've even managed to get them to put aside their differences and have 1 sail the other cannon.

whiskey 10-26-2008 11:52 PM

The lag is much worse since the update.

Chris 10-27-2008 12:03 AM

A little bit not much and i have it on high graphics. That Pandadx9 thingy works well.

MacIronhawk 10-27-2008 12:17 AM

Not enough to make me want to get off but quiet a bit.

The new update did bring more lag. I'm surprised that with Panda3D there is even this much lag. I've seen game systems with great graphics with hardly any lag.

This is one of the few (or many) things that keeps people away from Pirates. Toontown has managed to get rid of most of it's lag with a lot of work but not pirates. Hopefully they'll work on getting rid of the lag.
But one of the best ways to have little to no lag is get a computer with 4GB memory.

League 10-27-2008 12:39 AM

Depends on when you look at it.

james daggerfury 10-27-2008 12:55 AM

i get pretty good bit of lag sens new update

The Skirata Clan 10-27-2008 01:07 AM

i was killed by..... lag!

Aliese 10-27-2008 01:43 AM

It increased a lot for me with the update, but sometimes it's so bad that the game is just about unplayable. Yesterday there was literally a four second delay between when I would attack, and when it would damage the enemy. However, they attacked me instantly. That was kind of special.

Andrew 10-27-2008 02:07 AM

I think it increased for everyone on the update, that usually happens anyway
Aye TSC- I have a feeling that the lag will be the death of me pirate one day, lol

Reaver 10-27-2008 11:59 AM

none here then again here's what i have
4.5 gigabytes of RAM at a clock speed of 800mhz (my motherboard cant handle higher than 800mhz)
a quad core processor at 1066mhz Overclocked to 3.2 gigahertz
a 5meg ISP connection provider
my cable transfer speed is about 1ghz (arount the highest you can get short of spending a lot of money on fiber optic cables)
And i have a phase change cooling system to keep things cold (heat the computers worst enemy next to static and water unless the water is being used in a liquid cooling system)
this is all that can really affect lag except the I/O speed of your hard drive wich unless you have a SSD drive you'll only really get 500 I/O per sec

thats why i have no lag
(i used to have lotsa lag then i went from pentium D to a Quad core processor more the tripled my computers speeds and obliterated any lag i havent had lag even i groups of people as large as 50 at once i havent really tried larger groups yet)

Poison elf 10-27-2008 03:12 PM

On the tech posts there is a lot about some of these issues. I have done quite a bit of alterations and still get some heavy lag cuts. Kings was bad when release first came out, and just the other day, helping one other person in tormenta I was hitting the critters twice with staff before damage registered.

Best thing to do is try running lower graphic settings, use the pandadx, turn down acceleration and such things, and most recent graphic card updates.

Your Gladiator 10-27-2008 08:43 PM

the lag is so unbearable it takes 15 to 10 min to load and when im attacking sometimes it lags out or goes to internet disconnetcion

Andrew 10-27-2008 11:26 PM

same here Glad, sometimes the lag is so bad i just Alt+F4

davy redflint 10-27-2008 11:34 PM

not much here been more lately w the updates. but usally very little if any. nothing that cause problems playin anyway

Bonnylass64 10-28-2008 01:32 PM

Since I got a new computer with super fast internet speed, I have no lag. I used to have a lot, and it used to crash on me every time I tried to board a ship. That was beyond aggravating. But not anymore. Yea! I mean, Arrr. lol
