It's a day the dead are said to rise and visit with the kin they left behind. Only this year, a terrible thing happens on that very day - a full moon - and Jolly Roger be working to summon all his magic to curse the Caribbean for his gain. Every night when the moon be at its fullest - anyone who walks on land that be touched by moonlight be "cursed" - and become undead! Them that's caught in the fray will be forced to attack towns ... and each other! Chaos will overtake me beloved islands and Jolly Roger's joy will be full as cursed Pirates fight for his unholy cause! At least, that's what the Mermaids done whispered - properly warned about the curse ye be. When will this terrific mayhem befall the Caribbean? As the curse tells, starting October 31 - but how long will it last? That mystery is still to be unraveled ... So take care mate, if yer indoors the curse won't touch ye. Why? The scuttle be that Captain Jack got wind of Jolly's plan and took somethin' he needed to make the curse complete. Ole' Jack stole an ancient Aztec relic called - The Moonstone - from one of Jolly Roger's henchman. Now his curse can be broken and only affects those on land, not at sea - so there is hope. Once the moon wanes, everyone indoors must come out and defend the towns against the undead! For if ye defeat an undead Pirate, it be a favor, it is. He lands in jail and returns to his natural state after a bit. And if enough cursed Pirates be defeated, we'll have saved the Caribbean from Jolly's curse. So do yer duty, watch yer back ... and pray for clouds. ----------------- Okay the most interesting part of the entire story is this "but how long will it last?" notice how POTCO made this its own CHAPTER and now they are saying "but how long will it last?" im beginning to wonder if maybe we can see PVP servers in our future with possible PVP Quests? |
Woot! Sounds fun...so let me get this sraight, we will be able to attack each other outside or will there be undead in the towns we have to kill?

Nope we will be able to attack EACH OTHER outside! Not in buildings or ships but everywhere else is fair game!

part is I'm only a level 7 on the open server. But at least I'm a level 23 on the test server. Its every pirate for himself!:h-skull: |
Well from latest notes I last saw on test, weeks later it appers it finally dawned on someone that it may not be a good idea having one shot kill grenades. Seige may not be a one shot when this hits?
Haven't been able to test it yet in pvp to know what it will be for sure. |
While it seem some of you like this idea I for one don't. If I want to kill other players I'll play PvP but the only time I ended up in one of those I thought it too personally aggressive. If it's on it's own server fine, more power to those that want it.

Thats just it we dont know what t hey will do. They might make it where certain levels can only go to certain servers or maybe they will only have half the servers PVP.

Well if it's intended for everyone, I'll be playing poker for the weekend with others of my guild as none of us are interested is this kind of game play. Defeating "pretend" Spainish, French or other undead, or even navy is one thing but beating up on other players??? Sorry not what I came into a D-game to do.

Maybe you wont necessarily be able to fight other people, maybe everyone'll just walk around as the undead?
I hope it isn't a free-for-all PVP though, as that's really not fair on those of us who are trying to just level up. |
Inside may be a good place for some people. Myself, I think I may have 3 40's out, and no hold back to a level 1 nor anyone else.
How many months have we been in guilds helping people out, to get Ban's if ya give out the clan guild site and such things. How many of us have watched half a dozen characters get degraded, because we have been helping others out. Another few weeks and dropped stats and degrades we likely won't be able to stand in tortuga. So now is the time to let the 40's go and out right slaughter. The GM character better be prepared, can't give me cannon balls back, can't give me back a steel dagger, can't give us hex shot back - then worthless and needs to go down. Another hat or something to through in inventory might as well be taken with em to Davy Jones locker. With a number of characters maxed in everything with proper builds, and skip combos, may be the last chance to ever use them. Since nothing is going forward, just everything one after another being taken away. |

Aw man this is going to be so boring for me.. I can't go to the fun servers.. I have to stay on the quiet ones since my computer lags insanely.. Hopefully I can find someone to beat up lol

Well I am not holding my breathe or anything that is for sure. This may pop into game being a total game crash when ya get next to two other players?
What I can say, is appears in the pvp system right now they are gearing up for this. Best I can tell most everything in pvp damage has been reduced on test server. Pistol from 1/4 to 1/5 damage, Grenade around 1/3 damage, as well as other stuff appearing not quite as much a drop. Best I can tell this seams like its going to be something like two teams. Out in open under the moon will turn ya undead, at another point this will not happen, and others will be fighting those still left undead. What the GM characters role in this not really sure. |

I guess I'm the killjoy on this one. The new low-level players have a tough time at the beginning...everything they fight kills them until they get the hang of the game, and now fellow pirates, who are normally "safe" outside of PvP and SvS are also going to be decimating them where they stand.
I feel sorry for the newbies. |
They should do this every weakend for Unlimited Access players(or all players).
That would be so awsome. Its so much better than the pvp matches since the whole carribean is your arena. |
I still think they should make like 5 servers that Unlimited can do this anytime they want.
