Jack Rackham now "illegal"

Dear Joe,

We're sorry but the name you chose for your Pirate was in violation of
the Name Approval Guidelines. Please remember that not only do we
reserve the right to deny any name for any reason at our discretion, but
we take our Name Approval Guidelines seriously.

You may resubmit a new name to be accepted, or you may choose a name
from the Pick-A-Name screen to have it instantly approved. The
guidelines used to approve Pirate Names can be found by visiting:

http://apps.pirates.go.com/pirates/v...approvals.html

Also, if you have submitted the same name multiple times, and it has
been rejected each time, then you will have to choose a significantly
different name that follows the guidelines. If the name is too similar,
it will likely be rejected again.

We hope this information is helpful, and look forward to seeing you in
Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean Online soon!

Thank You,

The Disney Online Team

You can look the name up on the D channel...you have FOUR PAGES of Jack
Rackhams...so explain please why I no longer can have a name of a pirate
I had for the previous SIX PLUS MONTHS...that prior did not violate nor
was in disagreement with the naming guidelines..

I mean really...you deny that name but you allow Manuel Noriega?

Dear Joe,

Please keep in mind that the above is not a complete list of the name guidelines. If you had a name not approved and you feel that it doesn't
violate any of the above, please respond to this e-mail for further clarification. We reserve the right to reject any name at any time.

We hope this information is helpful and that we will see you in-game soon!

Comments or Questions : Pirates Support Ticket #559636 I recently deleted a pirate named Jack Rackham-a pirate i had
built up to level 36 and deleted him to re create him. The name does not violate naming
guidelines and as I said I have had that name for over six months-since i've been playing this game as matter of fact-After deletion I got a
message stating that name will not work...why? I waited 2 days and I still cannot use that name. Why? All I want to know is why a name I used
for over 6mos is now no longer available to me. That ticket includes the screen shot I took of the name being rejected-I also have screens of the
past 6mos w/a pirate on my account that has that name.

Yup--doesn't make much sense does it?

Li Wildtimbers 10-14-2008 01:18 PM

sry to hear of ur troubles with getting ur name back.....wish u all the best of luck with the peeps at Big D

Dr. Zeppers 10-14-2008 07:03 PM

This really seems to come down to the individual reviewing the names.

Same individual will keep rejecting the same names they always reject.

Some of them dont allow names of real known pirates, yet others do.

We have an Anne Bonny and a Mary Read for example.

Hehe, perhaps you should try "Calico Jack"

Sarah 10-14-2008 07:12 PM

EDIT: Funny Zep, I'm typing this response as you answered that...

I have all but one real Pirate, Anne Bonny, Mary Read and Elizabeth Killigrew. Elizabeth is a replacement for none other than Calico Jack. I just couldnt' play him, didn't fit me. Maybe you should try Calico on. I know it's not what you really want, but at least it's the same Pirate.

Well, that really stinks that your name got rejected after 6 months.

CrimsonRabbit 10-14-2008 08:31 PM

The thing seems really random and doesn't always follow their own standards.

No Disney characters or other cartoon characters
LOL...this among other reason is probably why they denied my "Puss in Boots" name

No names with titles already in them. For example: Captain Anne, Mr. Smith
I can't even count how many "Captain" names I've seen...along with other titles

No non-English words
Bull....you know how many non-English names are running around??

Chris 10-14-2008 08:39 PM

Wow thats terrible if you have had that name for 6 + months you should keep it! I have seen names FAR worse than that one and guild names alot worse and they still have them.

Deadpool 10-14-2008 09:44 PM

The same thing happened to me once. I was suspended and made another account but I couldn't use my other pirates name. It was Deadpool yet somehow It was denied the second time. I think the person who looked over my name was a comic book fan...

Bella 10-15-2008 12:12 AM

Well considering I have seen "Haywood Jablome," "Dixie Wrecked" and "Amanda Hugginkis", Jack Rackam is tame.....

Big D REALLY needs t get their (cough cough) poo straight.

League 10-15-2008 02:25 AM

Alot of that would fly over a kid's head, and, if there was no real reason to attract thought, would probably go unnoticed by most. As for your name, I'd don't see what's up with that. Maybe the fact that there is already too many of those with the same name or something: iunno really.

At least the above were creative. After all there is a pirate running around by the name of "Rawnutts."

Yes.. there is... really.

Deadpool 10-15-2008 10:12 PM

Ok I made a few pirates and These are the names that were accepted: Big Mike Clown Thrower, Chicken And Waffles. I kept Mike though

Mr.LoveLocket 10-16-2008 12:33 AM

Another that is dumb is " Don't put your real name "
OMG everyone has it.
Alex, Leon, Sam, Ben
gosh pirates

BTW why would u delete it?

Chris 10-16-2008 02:12 AM

Well heck im Chris in game O_o which is actually dumb because Chris is a pre-made name :D

lostinthelab 10-17-2008 02:22 AM

:mybadki6: Oy.

I'm sorry to hear that Rackham. I hope that you replied to that email. Maybe also calling the customer service and starting out with "gosh, I sure hope you can help me." Sometimes you can get people to help you by appealing to and invoking the power that they have in their job.
