Guild Sig Graphics
 

Not sure if there's a thread for this or not, so I apologize if there is! I made a guild graphic for my sig, well, two actually, and I wanted to share them with you all in case you wanted to use them! Here they are:

ONE PROBLEM THO:::: As with our page here on POF, the spelling is wrong! Back when I created the guild, I tried 3 other names for it, and they all were shot down. Then, I tried Deuces Wild, (The correct spelling) and it got refused too. Found out that there already was a Deuces Wild, but that they were a dead guild. SO, I changed the spelling! DUECES WILD!!!!!I am going to get the spelling here on POF corrected to match our guild name, sometime in the next week or so. This means that our Badges and this signature are both going to be incorrect also.

That's awesome, Ange. Hope you don't mind if I blend it in with my personal penguin touch for my own signature.

out of curiosity where did these come from i could swear i've seen them before in a different ship based game

I had made a similar one for Burning Legion (my old guild on here).

I scanned the dice, doubloons and cards from actual items. The dice and doubloons are from the game Old Century Dread Pirate. I scanned in the cards just to add them to this one; the cards are from my Disney POTC playing card deck. :)

By the way gang, your total sig length can't be more than 500x200, so if you use the bigger siggy, that's all ya got room for. With the smaller one, you can fit some text under it.

sarah ????. on my edit sig in the list has no for upload images, maybe that why it wont load, but i did pay to join lol.

I'm not finding that option available for me to change Davy. Shoot a pm to Zep, Max or Batleth and see if they can fix that for you. ;)

I'm also gonna ask a noob type question, but part of my question may provide your answer.

First, you need someone to do the art work. GothixGraphics did our badge, and Ange did the signature.
Then, whoever does the art has to post it where others can get to it. Like their own website, or photobucket.
Then, each invivdual who wants to customize it, has to make their own copy, and reupload it so that it can be linked back to here.

Now to my question,
Ange, did you change both sizes, or only the large size, and if you did change both, can you provide both links?

To upload your sig graphic to POF...

Proceed to the Gallery, you can upload images to your own "gallery" folder/profile, and link to them in your sig.
The image hosting/posting guide outlines this, the same method can be used for your sig. The section regarding image hosting "Gallery" covers it.

Now... if you mean just host your sig graphic of choice. You can edit/create your graphic image with your preferred graphic editor, upload to POF gallery, and use the link provided to insert the image in your accounts signature.

Do you mean similar to the guildlaunch signature you have now? (or like mine) where stats can be updated on a site/database and automatically displayed on a sig image?

The way I do it requires a webhost/server that supports:
PHP (image processing libraries must be available).
MySQL or some form of database to store data.
Ability to create a world writeable folder for caching information.
External linking (its hosted on your webserver, not POF).
Ample Bandwidth/traffic at its disposal (can generate alot of requests/bandwidth on your host/server).

You are also going to have to have a webmaster with the know how.
Knowledge of PHP, MySql, etc and how to put it together is simple for some of us pirates with propellers on our heads, but not to everyone.

Ok, I just looked, but you should be able to upload an image there in the
Edit Signature part of your UserCP.

The following should be below the box you type in your signature.
Its possible the "Skin" you have selected for POF is causing a conflict (ill check and see if its an issue with the new skin).

The upload from another www/url may not work. Recommend uploading from your computer option.

Here is what it looks like:

zepper, how do u find that screen, it not in my edit signature,
i have the sig box then, the save and preview. then a list of what allow.
no screen like ur showin.

the pic must first be uploaded to your album.. then you can take the [url] link it provides and put it in your sig...

1) Click on your Name up top Corner right

2) On your userpage on the right side, scroll down to find Albums. Click on Show All Albums

3) You'll see your Album (pictures) page. Click on Add an Album

4) Create your album, make it public. The Album is ready

5) Now click the Upload Pictures... there you will see the upload option - upload your pic

When done you will get a BBCode URL (the one with the [] brackets - copy that and put in your sig... then your set :)

Thanks for the incredible sig graphic!! lol.. I'm taking the easy way out and having my daughter customize it a little.... found some of my marbles.

I am so proud of myself!!! I have my new sig pic done and I did it myself (my daughter had a lot on her personal plate).

Just so you know...this is my first ever attempt at doing any photo editing or photo paint.

Found some civil war era marbles to insert and paint into the sig pic.
