Guild Wars challenge: are we intersted?
 

Ok Dueces Wild guild members, there is a challenge being made. This is preliminary, and there are no dates set yet, but I need to know if we would even be intersted in taking part in something like this? I have pasted the posting in it's exact words:

Do ye really think your guild is the best in caribbean? Well tis be the time to be testin that thoery of yers! Sign up here for the battle to end all battles of guilds! And have yer guild declared best guild in the caribbean! Now tis game wont be easy and will test yer guilds skills from commnuication, knowledge, to brute force! Tis events will take place here in the POTCO Guild and Clans Forums and in game! So do ye think yer guild has what it takes?

Tis game will be set in several stages an event held each week and every week one guild will be banished from the realm and tis shall continue until the last guild be standin!

Some events that will be held:
- SvS
- PvP (single weapon only like just cutlass)
- Races (land and sea or both)
- Scavenger hunts
- Tortuga Hold 'em
- Screen Shot Contests
- much much more...

Losing:
The first few stages of the event will be alliance battles meaning several guilds must form 2 alliances and all the guilds on an alliance must work together. The losing alliance must then vote off a guild. The guild with the most votes will be voted off the game and the alliance will be one guild short.
The last stages will be every guild for its self in other words you are only fighting for your guild and if your guild loses an event then your guild is off the battle.

Voting:
When an alliance loses a battle the losing alliance must vote. Each guild will have one vote and the guild that gets voted against the most is voted off. Now each guild gets 1 vote and to determin that vote the Guild Master can either make the decision him/her self or can ask the guild to vote. If there is a tie we will do a tie breaker challenge within 3 days.

Non-Elimination Stages:
There will be 2 Non-Elimination stange which means no guild goes packing that night however you will not know when these stages are. You will find out After the stage has ended.

Rules:
No cheating what so ever.
No Glitches any PERSON to be found glitching in a stage will get their entire guild kicked out of the game. No exceptions!
Each stage will have its own set of rules and you must follow those as well as these!
No rudeness, ANY person found being rude to another guild during the event will get their guild kicked this will not be tolerated! Rude means No we are better than you ro <guild name> Sucks! this is just a game and no permanent or even temporary grudges should happen.

DISCLAIMER: These events are for fun the actual winning guild will get nothing more than a few bragging rights thats all we can never determine the best guild in the caribbean since there are so many this is just a game! NO HARM INTENDED!

Game Play
The game will be set up and executed similar to the way the hit TV show Survivor. There will be 2 blocks of the game.
Block 1 is where all the participating guilds will form 2 alliances and you will have to compete with the other alliance.
Block 2 is where its every guild for itself you will fight as a guild individually
Block 1
Game Play - All the guilds who have signed up will be split into 2 alliances in which you must fight with your alliance. If your alliance loses then you must vote out a guild more on voting later. If your alliance wins then you are safe until the next stage.
Voting - During Block 1 voting will be important. Each guild will have one vote and the guild that gets voted against the most is voted off. Now each guild gets 1 vote and to determine that vote the Guild Master can either make the decision him/her self or can ask the guild to vote. If there is a tie we will do a tie breaker challenge within 3 days.
Stages - stages are different events in the game. There will be 1 stage every week. Stages will be activities like SvS, PvP (certain weapons), Races, and more.

Block 2
Game Play - In this block it will be every guild for itself no more alliances. We will reach this point in the game when there are 4 guilds left. If your guild loses a stage then your guild is disqualified from the game.
Voting - There is no voting during this block.
Stages - Same as with Block 1 they will be held once a week and some events will be the same but new ones will be added. If your guild loses a stage they will be kicked from the game

Moderating
I noticed a lot of you are worried about glitching and cheating hopefully this paragraph will put that to rest.
I will be moderating ALL events in some sort of manner so it wont just be play the event and tell me the results.
Glitches are a HUGE thing in the game DONT DO THEM once again if caught your entire guild will be disqualified! Now i noticed a lot of you are worried remember this:
It is just a game the MOST you will win from this is bragging rights and maybe a small amount of casino cash that's all i can give you.
I can NOT control the environment in the game!!!! In other words i cant fix glitches in game and i cant do anything about it.
Now i do hope that most POF'ers are MATURE enough not to do glitches during and event like this but it will happen and if it does please take a picture of the person doing that glitch and PM it to me and i will look it over and ask witnesses. (Give me the full blown screen shot of the entire scree not just a snippet of the game)

NOW: I would like to get some feedback from the guild about if we are interested, and would we be willing to participate.

PLEASE: ONLY DUECES WILD MEMBERS RESPOND HERE!
If you are a member of a different guild, contact your guild master and have her/him collect data from your own guild.

I'll leave this posting run for about a week, maybe a little longer. Then, I'll contact the contest organizer(s) to let them know what we decide.

No offense to the organizers, but I think I have to agree with Sarah on this one. If it was an official Disney in game thing, like the leaderboards I might say "yeah, let's do it." Whatever you decide is fine though, as I don't think I'll be playing much for a while anyway.

it sound like fun, but there no way to control glitchin or cheating, so i hav to say no to.

Ok i know im not in the guild but i am the hoster of this event.

To address most of your issues i would just like to remind you that it is a game and there is nothing i can do to fix bugs and glitches. I have updates and completely re-done the rules and game context so when your clan leader sees the new ones she will post them here for everyone to see.

If you do want to get rid of glitches there is something you can do report them all. This contest wont begin until Mid-October (there is still a ton of planning i need to do) so between now and then report every glitch you see in SvS and PvP and report it multiple times as many as you can send in pictures and everything in the bug reports.

No offense, but I don't know of hardly anyone who willingly turns in a glitch report to Disney. I try to not use them personally, but I know for a fact that there are very few people who don't glitch.

So, I doubt that anyone is gonna try to get the glitches eliminated.

Ok thanks for updateing the first post.

As for the glitches the only ones that will affect the event are the ones in SvS and PvP and those have nothing to do with leveling gltiches.

Again, I dont use the glitches,, and I can say that honestly, since I aslo don't SvS or PvP. I've done each of those exactly ONCE,, didn't see any value to them, since they don't give rep, and the guy I PvP'ed against used a glitch, therefore cheated, so I've never gone back!

While it sounds like Chris is doing a lot of work to get things organized and running,( go Chris) I am going to have to pass. I personally don't enjoy doing PVP or SVS but I am intrigued by a scavenger hunt- if the 'best of the best' guild event doesn't pan out I would be up for just a scavenger hunt event -. Good luck to participating guilds.

Far be it from me to make this point........ If a guild is voted out.....it is gone from the game.. entirely !!!!!!! Worst case..... we lose and the guild is dissolved.... I love this guild and would not for any reason risk its continued existence... sorry purv... ill pass as well, unless they revise the whole guild goes bye bye..... :skull:

DPR, no, the guild is not gone from POTCO, just this side game/challenge Chris wants to set up. ;) Someone get DPR more rum, stat!

DPR,, this game would have nothing to do with our statuss in the POTCO game. Losers get voted out of the challenge, that's all.

Buddy, If there was any risk at all of our family being disrupted, I would never hhave even posted this.

maybe i read the rules wrong............ as its read, it says that the guild voted out, is out of the game.... perhaps the host should look at the wording and change it to "contest" instead.......however...if u think its safe and there is no danger to the guild or its members, then i'm in.......:pirate6:

Yes DPR, out of the game is right, as in the game that Chris is putting together, not the game of POTCO ;)
