>=( Why don't they have morrre Pirat-ey outfits?!
Ha-lo, i'm a pirate, and i was just wondering- WHy don't they have more pIRAtey outfits, such as:
Dressess (or corsets), and yah know...little accessories/ like: The things that Jack wheres on his hands. Or like, things to put in your hair like: Fancy/ clips, or beads. But, there are no dreads. :psmiley27: These were just things on my mind. PLEASE DON'T, say that "you don't care," or "nobody cares," about what i have to say, because somebody does. Because obviously, some one does if they are POsting about it. I talked to A LOT of people who suggest the same thing. (and i've wittnessed/ "weddings" 0.o) And i just thought that it would be pretty cool if we had a little more to customize/ our pirates with. I don't think that's askin' too much.... So.....what is your opinion? |
This game is still in developement so in the future i expect more pirat-y stuff to be released. The game is no where near 100% done its no where near 50% done so there is still lots to be released.
In the recent talks with the GM's a few did mention more clothes being added soon so who knows. |
I agree there should be more clothing/accessories in the game. Enough items where every pirate I meet isnt wearing the same bandana I am, etc.
No dis intended... I sorta chuckled regarding Dresses/corsetts (when thought of in a piratey light). Most images of known female pirates for example wore similar outfits as to the men. Hard to fight/run in a dress i'd think, but I wouldnt know. ;) Not at all opposed to them being in the game (dresses, etc) I think the "weddings" thing is a bit overboard for a game, but to each his own. Have yer fun! :) |

I propose a tample of logic: if a pirate wears it, it is pirate clothing. If a pirate owns it, it is pirate's clothing. Clothing ulitmately gets its value, its determination, from the wearer, non?
|
I agree with League it is pirates Clothing if a pirate is wearing it.
|
Just my two cents.
Not meaning to be argumentative here, however following the logic of League if an individual wears a set of USMC dress blues does that automatically force the wearer to have committed six years or more of their life to Uncle Sam?
Of course not - some clothing is thought of as belonging to a particular sect/set of people; I would never expect a Midwestern farm girl to run around town in Yapese traditional wear (grass skirt, etc...). As such, some people think of certain articles of clothing as being associated with pirates. Although there is a saying "The clothes do not make the man - the man makes the clothes", one must admit there is much emphasis placed on the type of clothing one wears; otherwise there would absolutely no use for costume shops come time for Halloween or other Masquerade Balls. Just my humble opinion; that and a buck seventy five will get you a cup of coffee at McD’s. |
Actually Ben, it'd still be Marines' clothing. It just'd not be worn by a Marine. And, like I said, if a pirate wears it, then it is pirate clothing. I'm not associating anything with anything.

If pirates didnt wear it, then it wasnt typically pirate clothing. So... Coming up with uniforms, costumes, obscure clothing of sorts that people in teh game want, doesnt fit the genre. We are not pirates, we are playing pirates. Because we are playing a pirate, and want to wear a USMC uniform, or whatever does not make THAT pirate clothing. So Leagues statement is correct, and could be applied to whats considered pirate clothing based on what real pirates wore. Not based on what gaming pirates want to wear now. |
Well, just so we don't stumble on the use of language: I run track. <--That suggests continuous action, like a hobby or dedicated following. If a man wears a sumo-suit... <--That suggests one time use. The present tense is varied: it can, when narratively used, be used to describe a past story when it is to be revealed in present terms.
And yes Zeps, I said pirates, not game-pirates. Ultimately, I'm the easiest thing to defend in this world, for I am nothing at all. Well, at least my arguments are. |
Eye Patches, Peg Legs, and Hooks Not a Good idea Eye Parches Peg Legs and Hooks are mostly for Kids Pirates I admit they did use them but POTC ye only see 1 eye patch, 0 hooks, 0 peg legs.
|
Hmmmmmmm...
Seems to me that even in the Game Hints Big D suggests not wearing more than one eyepatch at a time. Historically, pirates did not have peg-legs (that notion came from RLS' Treasure Island) or hooks (came from Peter Pan). Then again, Big D's version of pirates is not historically accurate in many ways, but in particular, the clothing is WAY wrong. So, I'd think if Disney were to add those features it would be favorably viewed by those who were interested. If one were no so inclined, one could of course skip adding said eyepatch et al. Besides, how 'bout that skull-face tattoo? I see those all over and have never read mention of one of those.... |
Those are pretty good ideas...

They should have dresses for the chicks that play this game. Jack Sparrow agreed when he said,"it should be a dress or nothing, I happen to have a lovely dress in my cabin." I agree! lol
|
I agree that there should be more for our pirates to wear. I can't say I would be fighting in a dress but for wondering around the island it might be nice. *yea that sounded way too girly didn't it?* I mean...ARRRR! lol
