Don't you remember the good ol' days?
Yeah, those were the days. Very low levels, being killed by witchdoctors...badits, pirates...err, fly traps, brigands, thugs, oh you get the point.
Or those days in kingshead, level 30, winthering those navy guards! Or, running from that mercenary in fort charles poking him over and over again! Those were the fun days I want them to come back :( Man, now im level 38. It seems like yesterday I was just getting my dagger! |
Yup i remember :( my first night halloween 07
|
Aww, I remember when I first created my pirate on Nov 1st and met 2 great people on the docks who will soon become the GM and Officer of The Dolls. I also remember when us Founders were the dominant breed in POTCO, the only thing I saw were higher lvls from guilds like The Guardians/The Brotherhood, SeaFurys, or Emerald Sea Gang and I used to always think "Wow, those are some VERY powerful guilds! HOW do they do it?!"
Now I'm a lvl 40 fully mastered pirate who's GM of a more than AWESOME guild and I have gained lots of experience throughout the months of gameplay and I hope that soon, level 40 will be considered a low level. ;) |
I remember i was a lv 7 noob taking on a kingfisher WE CAN TAKE EM ( Swash Sinks )
OOh look Kingshead ( 3 seconds later ) AHHH IM GONNA DIE Wheres the theives den? Wheres the theives den? Wow my first bulwark IM SO PROWD. Heh Heh thoughs were the noobish days when i first got my Galleon I got a galleon Swash take me here plz. Ok. Swash i need to go here. Ok Heh heh now i have my own War Fleet and im lv 40 |
That's the beauty of this game...you can always create another character and relive the fun of the first time you played...
I'm almost lvl 37 having only been playing less then 3 months...have my war fleet, etc...yet on the days when I don't feel like trying to master what I have left to master, I switch over to my lvl 5 and enjoy the fun all over again... |

Yes the good ol' days.
Um....sorry but in my opinion pirates hasn't been out long enough to even talk about the good ol' days. Toontown is six almost seven years old and people barely talk about old times. We move on and forget things or hold onto memories and don't talk about them. As of right now I don't think the game is old enough to talk about the good ol' days. As far as being a low level, yes I remember that. It was fun and exciting trying to get up to be the best. Now look at some of us, level thirty plus. It's great knowing we've gotten this far isn't it? I think we can expect more and more from teh game and of course we all can't make jsut one pirate so we'll live through the experience again and again. |
Mac the good ol days refer too good times in the past meaning it could be 2 minutes ago when you drank your 1000th bottleof rum.

Now i'm up to my 2,000 and it can't get any better than this. |
I remember last Halloween trying to level and quest along side of all the other founders and realizing how difficult it was to quest when there were no higher level pirates anywhere to assist you!! Definatly was fun spending all that time in jail lol!
|
Unfortunetley i wasn't playing POTCO at the time ;[
|
aye but w 4 lvl 40 pirates u can only make a new account for a new pirate, but it been fun and still is so that is really what its about is havin fun.

Ya when i first started playing in november i had no knowledge of anything in the game(except that you get sword). I didnt understand the different colors of names. I remember when i first started seeing purple names. It was strange to me since everyone i saw before was either gold or gray. I do remember getting frustrated because didnt know where enemies were (i wish they had the ray of light guiding you to enemies before). It was fun.
Oh and i first saw the Guardians in December and all those high levels in the guild. So i asked if i could join and they let me in. I joined the Guardians 4 days after it was created and was in it from lvl 18 -40. Those were the days.:) |
Do you guys remember that long trip to Cuba for the first time to see Tia for the Doll quest? Seems like you were saiing forever in that little sloop.
Course the funny one was taking your little sloop to Padres for the first time and going by all those big ships and almost making it and got nailed each time! :laughks2: |

It was tricky, killing enough cadets to get enough gold, without hitting lvl 2. Skipping the cutlass training, meant that he had no sweep. No compass from Tia Dalma makes sailing really hard. With no pistol, even level 1 gravediggers are a challenge, when they team up on ya. Fun, fun! |
Hehehe... I remember trying to sail to PDF and sinking like 4-5 times before I just decided to SWIM there! I jumped in the water off PR and swam all the way to PDF where there was not even a single other player on there, lol. I ran aroun dteh island, died a couple times and swam back to PR after trying to sail off once or twice.
OH! And the time I was in Cuba and my ship sink when I tried to leave... but I'd gambled all my gold away so I couldn't repair my ship and had to swim from Cuba to PR.. XDDD Good times... |

I don't even remember those days! But my friend leveled up with me and she had a hilarious story when she was a low level. Three basic access members bumping into a rock crab on Devil's Anvil (or giant, as i know there is one somewhere). This rock crab killed her one friend and started attacking her, however her other friend said "no don't do it i'll save you, leave it to me" So she takes a step back so save her a trip to jail, when this second guy is now killed by this crab. "NOOOOOOO!"...what a tragic day... I was watching my friend play that night, never laughed so hard before. But the one thing i do remember from the good ol' days was no cheating, and i didn't get unlimited access until about level 10-12, so i remember a lot of whining about how unfair it all was
Also, that guy that died trying to save my friend, he's in our guild now and is still the same level, while we're both 40 and 36 lol, as he still has basic access. |
My pirates when I start them out usually go from levels 1-20 very fast.
I do remember my first pirate though... I was a loner, and never asked for anyones help. Took awhile and there were times id try to beat a mob I needed over and over and over. (i remember the brigands for the PR teleport being the hardest at the time). |
Yeah who can forget that dying every half a minute, yup those were the bad ol days
|
Ah.. the good ole days.....
Ooh look guys, a Juggernaut! (you can gues what happened) Hey look, there is an island we should go to! Isla Tormenta! (you can also guess the outcome) Hey Scarlet, how much do you weight? (i still have that scar on my face) What is that thing, an EITC Assassin? We can take it! (all i can say is i got to meet the jail that day) |
LOL, yeah,

As it turned out, on my first pirate on my 5th run on live... I ran into a group of ladies who were there just killing stuff and one using her Doll to heal the others... we begain talking... and that began a great friendship with which created The Dolls Guild - so many meanings to that title, so simple to come up with :D |
I am still having fun as much as back when I first started Nov 2007. yet I remember the newness and the new experiences (which is this thread's point) and miss it. :)
|
I remember the Good ol' beta day's(during phase 2). But phase 1 was pretty
cool. I figured out I could get tons of gold by clicking an easy quest a bunch of times before I do it so I get like 10 times more than what they pay me. Fighting the kraken was pretty awesome but laggy. Phase 2 owned and he graphics where better than Beta 1. The bad part was I had to recreate my character but It was worth it because the character I made in Beta 2 looks completely different now on the test server and I am better and trying to level up. It's been a while since I played and I should play right now. |

Alright, that's just about the sweetest thing I've heard all day. Max, publish the story on your guild forum. As for Sarah...signed up for POTCO on day one, POF the next day. I miss the amazing willingness of everyone here on POF to help each other thru any quests. We were all new then, and looking back at some old posts, we were REALLY in the dark. Not a single snide remark though. (and come to think of it, at this point, I might be snide to myself at some of the questions I posted..must remeber I was once clueless) Special thanks to WizardHawk, wherever you may be ;) good times |
