You will be able to do the Voodoo Doll quest for sure (at Notoriety Lvl 5) , and the Dagger quest I think (at Notoriety Lvl10).

You will not be able to access grenades, or the staff at all.

Edward Edgemenace 09-17-2008 08:09 PM

Yes, the voodoo doll (with similar caps as cutlass, pistol, sailing and cannon.)

No dagger for basic. (Well, except on the "free unlimited" weekend.)

Wasnt sure about that once hence the "i think" and only thought that because the quest is given at level 10, and I know basics can go beyond that.

Thanks for correcting me.

icemage 09-18-2008 01:26 AM

the weapon limit also applies to that

Swash 09-18-2008 01:40 AM

Ye can get a voodoo all weapons go to lv 7 on basic I reccomend getting unlimited.

Captain Seaford 09-18-2008 11:13 PM

Notoriety cap is 12?
Becayse weapon cap is 7

Stormhawk 09-20-2008 05:49 AM

I think the notoriety cap is 14 or at least it used to be.

theblastmage 09-27-2008 12:38 AM

the weapon lv cap is 5 now (the doll on my f2p character can't go beyond lv 5), and i'm thinking the notoriety has been bumped down to lv 10, i haven't confirmed that 100% yet though

Dr. Zeppers 09-27-2008 12:47 AM

ok, im pretty sure the basic notoriety cap is 12. HOWEVER.

That just means thats when you stop receiving notoriety points for weapons/quests.

If you find "treasures" you still get 25 notoriety per treasure, allowing the basic members to achieve higher notoriety. Notorietys above 14 with a basic pirate generally mean they had an unlimited account before.

Someone said that before, last week, so I created a new pirate and brought its doll past level 5 just to verify it. You are attacking gray enemies. Find red tagged enemies and your weapons level will continue to increase to level 7.

Reconfirming it tonight, it has changed yet again. Doll does stop giving rep at level 5. Notoriety cap seems to still be 12. (Well, at least, this hour. Roll the roulette wheel again in sixty minutes, to see what the new limit is.)

I'm a basic too, and now I'm lvl 18.

I was lvl 15 or 16 before the free unlimited weekend and lvl 17 when it ended, but then I started doing the clothes quests (I'm finishing the first one) and got to lvl 18.

I guess that, if It is possible for basics to do the second clothes quest, I will reach lvl 19.

There are some side quests available for basics, which are very few, but let them get a little more reputation. However, at the end every basic will need to upgrade to unlimited if they want to continue playing, cause basics don't get any reputation for killing enemies once they reach weapons cap (in my case was lvl 7 but I've seen that some things have changed lately, such as that now basics are not able to buy lvl 2 weapons, and I could some months ago, so the most probable thing is that the weapons cap may be lvl 5 now)

And talking about the dagger quest, basics are not able to do it unless they do it during a free unlimited weekend as Edward said.

See ya.
