Wow, I knew I did really, really well, but #1? Wow. Goose bumps. |

Congrats dude... you deserve it :D |
Congrats to everyone, and WTG Ed! :)
|
Wow must you post the entire list O_o lol anyway CONGRATS! to whom ever won :)
|
Wow, two threads for this ;) hehe
Grats Again Edward! |
Gratz Ed
I see how this is no fair One of my friends let another friend borrow his ship and was stayed out for 3 DAYS and all he did was launch his boat and STILL won. I also see some glitchers and also saw they also only included boat owners. Wish i won :mybadki6: |
Davys on the list too WTG DAVY.

Including 2 Davy Ironskulls (obviously a popular repeated name)! Congrats Davy. Whoever you are! Edit: Congrats Davy Redflint!!!! |
Congrats to all the winners! :D
|
Davy Redflint! Grats Hun!
Wow, I gotta read that list again! How bout this...if you're here on POF, and you're on that list, come congrats yourself so we can all High-Five ya!? ;) |
Wow i'm on there o.O lol i didn't want to win i was only helping out my guildmaster! i was only a gunner i didn't know that counted. :laughks2:
|
Whoah! Congrats Everyone!

Per the posted rules as they were interpreted by most, it didnt. Not to demean the win... but im thinking they threw all the names in a barrel and drew names. Hey... even if ya'll won with luck? HIGH FIVE!!!!! How much for the hat? j/k |
contest was open to everyone ...
... captain or not. this made it fair for even those that didn't have a titanic type ship :dancetl6:
|
I believe it has to do with number of hits you got against other boats. I never took a boat out and was just a gunner and got 78th on Lil-Rat. Our higher ones on the list were out shooting and sailing for all 3 days.
I think this is more fair since the crews got recognized for all their hard work too. |
Yeehaw! all the efforts were worth it! congrats all:buds:

It is good to see some reward for all those hours getting sunk over and over again. The occasional wins I had added up, evidently. I wish they had shown the relative points earned - I know I bounced around many different servers that weekend. So it would have been nice to know what the final tally was. And actually, now that I think about it, will they have an SvS leaderboard with these same types of tallies? Or will they just make this a monthly (or quarterly) event? Checking in DisneyXD to see the skill point allocations of all the level 40s at the top of the lists is enlightening! Apparently, some smaller guilds build up player combinations: player A with rank 5 full sail, player B with rank 5 ramming speed, player C with rank 5 wind-catcher. A combination like that, lets a war sloop chase down my light sloop in a faster-than-possible manner, by switching drivers. Blisteringly clever! "/grats" to everyone that played - I recognize (or think I recognize) about a dozen names on these lists. A very exciting (but sometimes wildly frustrating) experience! I can feel Dr. Zepper's Miracle Cure losing its efficacy already... |
Think i must have been counted when i babysat my guildmasters ship while he slept so we didn't lose the score lol! i guess there is upsides to time differences ay :) I recognize a lot of names now i've had a good luck, congrats all!
|
Most of the top 10 cheated I bet. If Disney ddn't know about that glitch then.. thats so unfair god..
Anyways congratz Edward Edgemenace and everyone who didn't cheat on your prizes! |
I wish they had explained the rules better. If I had known being a cannoneer on a ship would have made me eligible I would have tried a bit harder to participate.

I just got off the phone with Disney customer service (I tried online chat tech support first - they sent me to customer service...sigh.) They said the hats will be sent out in six to eight weeks. (!) The e-mail address I have on the primary account is ignored - the e-mail address on the linked account that I signed in on, to play during that weekend, is the one they will send the request for mailing address to. (I'm sure at least 99 other basic-member access players have that same question!) Since I used "spamgourmet.com" throw-away addresses for all the registrations, I had to jump through some hoops to make sure I don't drop their e-mail automatically. This hat will make a nice Christmas present, anyhow. If you see any on e-bay in the next five weeks, you can be sure it is a fake. |
Congratulations!
Isn't Davy Redflint a member of the POF too? :piratear: |

As far as the winner must be cheaters, the top winners were out all three days and worked their tails off playing. |

Edward Edgemenace first I would like to say congrats on your placing in this contest! Quite a feat I must say as i know what i went through to place. In reguards to what you are talking about here it is possible that there were some players that used this tactic to accomplish their score. Me personally i can assure you that I was the sole driver of my boat. The reason for my victory is placed soley on the hands of my Guild!! I know many admit to it but I can say with confidence that i am part of the best guild in this game. I was in game for the entire weekend and think i got around 6 hours of sleep since the begining of this event. Members of my guild worked in shifts on the cannons and assisted me in reaching a score that surpassed 600,000 points. It shows as 14 additional members of my crew made it into the top 100 and 4 of us including myself were in the top 8! I just want to say I admire all of you that have posted here and offered up congratulations to all the victors as each and everyone of the 200 players the placed deserve it! I would also like to say that i am ashamed of those who automatically assume that just because people win a contest that they MUST have cheated. They accuse honest hard working ppl of being dishonest with out even asking them what they did or what the game plan was that they implemented to accomplish their tasks. I am a proud member of the Pirate community and have been sinnce beta 1. And for any one to accuse me of cheating when they do not even know me is insulting and only shows what kind of a sore loser they really are. being that this is my first post on this site I would like to appologize if i have come across as being a gerk or hostile in my response to some of the posts in this thread. Edward Edgemenace I am in no way directing any of this, other than the congratulations that are rightfully yours, at you. This rant is nothing more than a carry over from the last night of the contest when a boat load of pirates accused me of being a cheat based soley on my score and even called in a second boat load of ppl to attempt to humiliate me and my crew. They soon found out why my crew had acquired such a high score as we sunk each of their bots 10 times consistantly with out us sinking once. the worst part is they didn't even have the nerve to appologize, they just reported me as a cheater. again I am sorry that I have used this opertunity to rant about this. I am simply tired of ppl that attempt to tear down ppl's accomplishments.

Gratz Tommy Two Times on 1st place! You really deserved it. I saw some boat have auto repair then finally one of the other boats and and I rammed it together and sunk it :) Its not fair how people who cheated get real life prizes and they cheated! Once again gratz to everyone who DIDN'T cheat.

Edward of course had major concerns about the winners and their wicked abilities (and with just cause... I'm sure the entire list of winners is not innocent) but I am glad to see the top players on the list be ones of hard fair play :D Congrats to you both :) |
aye i gunner most of the time sail a little, but we did have a nice score till we got booted. didn't expect to be in the top 100. nice, congrats to the other winner.
|
Congratulations, Tommy Two Times! There is no doubt in my mind, that everyone that placed in the contest at all, lost a considerable amount of sleep, just to be in the running!
Welcome too, to POF. These forums are normally very friendly - I hope you can find a niche here that you can appreciate. I appreciate your cleverness and dedication, which earned you that number one victory. Most people here, consider "repair-while-sailing" to be a cheat, as well as many other tactics that are possible within the game. I know I do. So I do regret having used it some of the time, that weekend. Other cheats, such as triple-thunderbolt or 360 degree cannon or 15 second lockup, the driver can't even know about. The driver's crew mates might be doing what other people consider cheating. It is very hard to guess what the real situation is, for any particular boat. Should anyone feel bad, if they discover afterwards that they had improper help? No. It is what it is. The contest premise was on it being an uneven match in the first place. No one worried about cheating could have entered the contest without prior knowledge that many unfair glitches would be in use. It is an important "life" lesson, that any victor will always be accused of cheating. Whether they were or were not, whether it was possible or not, they will still be accused. It is an exercise in ethics, to deflect those accusations only when they are not valid. It is an even better lesson, that if you and your close group of friends are having fun playing a game, you can ignore the critics. If the critics are getting to you, take a five minute break, then come back with your focus being to have fun while ignoring them. Tommy, again, congratulations! I know I can hardly wait 6-8 weeks for that hat! |
Was happy to be able to get my guildmates, Irate and Tommy over here to let them say in their own words about the contest. I am glad we sunk those people that last night. They would call us cheaters, told us they reported us over and over, and harrassed us instead of just privateering.
Wanted also to congratulate the other gunners, James Seafury, Rose Darkcutter, Peggy Leg, Black Ice Beard, Molly O'Bones, and David Plunderbeard for making the list. Our aim was to help Tommy as much as we could since it was his dream to win the contest. |
I would just like to say TY again to all those who have offered congratulations. I have heard from mant a pirate that this forum was a great place to make friendships in game. I have been meaning to join for months now and due to many issues both in game and in person i have been unable to do so. Again I would like to appologize for being snappy in my first post. I do not take the cheating accusations against me as personal but it does in a way include those assisting me, and that is what makes me upset about it. Those that helped me worked just as hard and desrve credit and praise and I will always defend them as I know they would for me. Having said that, in my mind it is a done deal. I will move on to more positive comments in my posts as that is the type of person i am. I am very glad and excited to be a part of the forum now and look forward to meeting and talking to many of you in the future!

Congratz to all the winners, particularly the 1st place winners and those that assisted them.
Bravo to Tommy for his posts as well. Welcome aboard! |
:buds: Welcome to the forums Tommy! and Big Congrats to all the winners and to all the sailing mates i know i've been on crew with that made the list. Woot woot! :12_1_138:
plunder on, Grace Squidkidd :piratewheelgo2: |
Congrats Tommy! I was speaking to Dead Aim a couple of days ago, he said he never cheated either. But our guild ship was sitting out there for the whole weekend as many others were, which is hard enough work changing shifts to keep it floating, and it definately should be rewarded. Also, the captain of the ship needs to sleep some time right? And when that happens, you can't use the svs repair glitch anyway.
