Yep i hope it gets back soon. I really gotta level up

You know... I love Pirates Online.. I really do. I enjoy the game, the people..

However, Disney IMO could care less about quality customer support, nor about customer satisfaction. This happens way too often, and to have it occur during a special event is a serious demonstration of bad business, and poor preparedness.

An unlimited access event where members cant log in?? Geez....

Its a shame, but this is exactly the reason why Im not surprised to see people going to other games - along with the other complaints - lack of quests, lack of places, glitches, bugs.

Perhaps rather than rush out a quest or event, they should put more time into preparing for it. We were doing flagship boarding earlier, and it was nothing but glitch after glitch. Boarding a flagship only to have it sink while we are on board. Grappling one to have it dissapear. Just nonstop issues.

Again LOVE the game, REALLY enjoy the people - but the quality and maintenance shown by Disney leaves something to be desired. I honestly hate paying them when the issues are so serious, and so badly timed.

Oh well.. just my rant.

icemage 09-14-2008 10:34 PM

Its working trying to spread the word now!

Sage 09-14-2008 10:35 PM

I concur with your assessment of the customer service. Prior to the announcement that the server was down I had contacted the live chat support. Even now they are claiming that my graphics card requires an update (despite my doing that 3 days ago) and that is why I have not been able to log in for well over an hour. They are also telling me that my graphics card is the reason why several other users are also locked out.

Sounds to me like a bad break up lines: "It's not me - it's you! "

Your Gladiator 09-14-2008 10:41 PM

right in the middle of an event this is stupid i love the game but its ridiculus and i talked to members service of my other account and they couldnt do anything about it I WAS SO CLOSE TO LEVEL 40 AND now i have to start again!!!!!!!! AND IM REALLY REALLY MAD ABOUT T ITS RIDICULUS. sorry for the caps lol.

John Witherspoon 09-14-2008 10:43 PM

icemage 09-14-2008 11:35 PM

Yeah I gotta admit customer service is bad. Sorry to say this but I don't think they deserve all the money they get

Diego Birmingham 09-14-2008 11:39 PM

This happened in the middle of the double gold event?! How long was it down? Has there been any word about rescheduling the event to make it up the players affected?

Nelly Darkpaine 09-14-2008 11:45 PM

Of course not! We were 'politely' told to watch the homepage for information. But, of course, customer service is clueless and really provides no answers. Nor do they ever get back to you.

I dont understand the point of having agents when they dont have any information to offer.
One guy updating the homepage could inform alot more people than the 'Live chat' help can do.

AdmiralSavvy 09-14-2008 11:47 PM

All I'm going to say is that I hope the Pirates Team is reading this.

Davil 09-14-2008 11:49 PM

probably not or else alot would have changed in the game.

I believe it happened with only 30 minutes left.

Many people remained connected and finished out thier 30 minutes..
I guess I was lucky. Matter of fact, I never lost connection the entire time, and im still connected... wierd!

The customer support is not bad.
All disney customer support is the same but you need to know how to use it.
They try their hardest.
As for maintenence a lot it's because of lag and too many people playing at once. There are over 1,000,000 members already.
If we had more servers then i'm sure it wouldn't happen as much.
Or I may be wrong and they just need to figure out a way to do monthly maintenence.
It could have something to do with the 2x gold.

Zepper are you sure? I was on thirty minutes after the gold event crashed and got back on. It could be just me but I stayed on.

EDIT: Are you guys playing a joke!?
I just now logged on and it's fine.
There are two red oceans so it's not down.

Duh. Yes, it really was down.

Nelly Darkpaine 09-15-2008 12:54 AM

Nope... was almost an hour at least.
IMO during a member event, any downtime without 'make up time' is inexcusable.

WoW manages to keep a smooth playing system and server selection going without as much downtime, and without charging much more. (At least their maintenance is posted ahead of time, and expected.)

Ive contacted customer service for various things, and have YET to get a single personalized response. (Let alone have someone who knows whats going on contact me back.)

Sorry.. but for the ongoing problems, they should be more prepared. Im not buying the 'trying our hardest' argument at this point. Love the game, but geez... its getting out of hand.

Obviously not for me if I crashed and then was able to get back on.
there was nothing taht said we will be going down for maintenence so....
I really don't see how there was even maintenence if msot people were able to stay on.

Well if it was really down I guess POTCO likes me more so they let me stay on. :D

Nelly Darkpaine 09-15-2008 01:07 AM

Um, they posted it on the login page. Hence the multiple posts here stating people couldnt log in. You tried to login and got an error message.. then, also got this when contacting them:

"Our servers are under maintenance right now. I'm not sure how long it will take to complete the maintenance, but I recommend checking back every hour or so. We will have Pirates Online back up and running as soon as possible. I'm sorry for the inconvenience."

That along with the big red message in the window when you try to log in pretty much told most of us it was down.
