EITC soldiers in cave in tortuga

hi, still stuck on this task. where do i find these guys and what do they look like?

thanks

miss potc 05-03-2007 08:20 AM

ok, i found a cave that actually had some soldiers in it this time. i defeated a few level 4 and 5's but received nothing but cutlass points. there was a veteran lvl 10 and a mercenary lvl 18 who i didn't dare to go battle by myself. are these the guys i have to defeat to finish the task? or how do i know which soldier the guy is disguised as?

Jack Sunshot 05-03-2007 01:51 PM

I think you have to defeat the big guy to complete the task. Make sure you take many pirates and lots of elixer to heal yourself in battle. That sucker can be a bear to deafeat. I've tried six times already, and six times I've ended back in the brig.

EITC people wear the game clothes as the Navy guards, except they're gray. They are also high levels, much higher than the Navy guards. They are found in the caves inside the jungle scenes.

piratesahoy 05-03-2007 03:13 PM

they have grey uniforms instead of red and they are called "thug" and "hired gun" instead of guard or cadet. they are in the cave in port royal too. good luck.

If you have pretty good voodoo skill, you can actually tune your voodoo doll to the level 16 EITC soldier....One you attuned it to him you can then use your magic and run around in big circles around the soldier. You should have no problems defeating the level 16 soldier. Although, My voodoo is level 11 and some spells very strong, I was still able to circle the soldier without even getting hit once...

Also, I would probably recommend getting some potions/remedies/etc just in case you require them when battling this level. There are two places you can get potions/remedies/etc (1) Port Royal - Its near the right side of island where the initial boating dock was, and harbor master or whatever he is called. The house is more in the back instead of near the ocean, and he sells these potions/remedies/etc (2) Tortuga - There is a medicine woman between when you leave the city and go into the jungle where you can buy these also. Don't have the exact coordinates but hope it helps and look around speaking to people you will find it....

I was wondering if your voodoo still says you need training at level 11 and are you able to use the cloth or silk doll yet?

Yes, They do! I was able to put on my character the silk doll $200 before they implemented this "Voodoo Doll Requires Training". When I first started playing I only noticed my cutlass stated this required training, but now all your weapons you can utilize say that regardless of the level.

Requires Training
(1) All Voodoo Dolls
(2) All Cutlass
(3) All Dagger
(4) All Grenades

There maybe sometehing bigger going on where they may have you perform a quest in order to do training, initially I thought it was more a levels thing which it was, but looks like they maybe changing things again...

I am still stuck here as well. If anyone is willing to volunteer to help I will be on Tortuga 4th Sea near the docks. I am Angel O'malley. Also, how do you use the potions? I can use elixer, but can't get any others to work.

Glowaslan 05-04-2007 02:25 AM

i know where they are i just can't beat them bc whenever im about to use an elixer i die

Pirate Funnymush 05-04-2007 11:26 AM

Ok I finally managed to find these guys, after searching and searching and searching. Must say you guys directions weren't all that exact. :D

If you head past the bar where Jack Sparrow, along that path, keep to your left. The path goes into the jungle. In the jungle, to your right is the grave yard. But we go to the left. Run past the skele's, scorpians, aligators till your reach the cave at the back. Again, more jungle. Keep running, don't stop to fight. Head past the navy guards (about 2-3 of them), past more skeletons and you should find another cave.

This is the cave I found 2 EITC soldiers. 1 called Thug (lvl 10) the other called Grunt (lvl 10).

Now I had 3 elixirs with me, equipped at F4. (The forth slot in my inventory).
Got the attention of 1 of the EITC guards, lured him away from the other one and took him on. Half way when my life was depleted, I used 1 of the elixirs. I advise not to wait till your life is in the red.

Should be able to finish him off in no time.

I am lvl 7 pirate with lvl 6 cutlass. Good luck to you guys. Hope my instructions were a little clearer to finding these guys. :)

I searched and searched all of Tortuga, but could not find anyone selling elixirs. Went to all the NPC's, but no luck. Went to Port Royal to buy them instead.

well apparently i have to defeat one in tortuga, it says to recover a handkerchief from a mercenary. hello! mercenary is a level 16!! i have died at least 6 times and i haven't seen anyone in the caves looking for these guys. is there anyone who would like to meet up and take care of this? like on saturday night? let's go!

a.k.a. Jade O'hara:eek:

miss potc 05-06-2007 04:16 AM

well, this task was completed when i was randomly slaying goons in the tortuga swamps on the way to try to defeat the mercenary for the 100th time alone. i am now faced with the will turner dagger task and the tattoo removal task. i have defeated a few eitc ships and i'm not getting credited for it in my journal.

now, i am trying to figure out how to get voodoo doll training. is this something i have to wait for elizabeth to call me to training for?

If you or anybody eles is working on this task, my boyfriend and I are willing to help because we are on this task and can not kill them either. Thanks.

Jack Sunshot 05-07-2007 12:08 AM

I finally teamed up with a stranger the other night during the stress test and we killed of four of those high level monsters! I leveled up my cutlass almost twice while at it too, hehe. The key is to take someone else with you and make sure you have some sort of healing potion with you. Now it won't let me turn the stupid thing in, grr.

Amasette 05-15-2007 12:21 AM

OK--don't laugh at me for being clueless--where/how do I get a healing potion??? I don't know anything about this...looks like I'll need it to complete this task (which I'm also stuck on...). Thanks. :o

Healing potions aka elixirs can be purchased from the Medicine Man in Port Royal. To find him go to the drydock, then turn around and head towards the path to the gov mansion. He is standing in front for his cottage well back from the beach. Name is Thomas S......
You may buy and equip 3 potions at a time and their healing power goes up as the price does. Once purchased they will appear in your weapons inventory and from there you can equip them into the f4 slot on your panel. Also, you can only equip one kind at a time so buy the same, not different strengths.
There is a bit of lag between clicking/pushing the f4 key while in battle and the potion working so I usually try and use it immediately as my health turns red or even toward the end of the yellow.

Okay - I realize this is an older thread but I, for one, am stuck on it and there have been a few updates since the last post... I have to get earrings back from 2 EITC soldiers - they are called soldiers in my journal - and it also says they are found in the caves of Port Royal and Fort Charles... so, I went to all the caves in Port Royal and saw nothing called soldiers... are they still the "thugs, hired hands and mercenaries"?? If so, they wear black and not gray navy type uniforms. Also, I have no clue where Ft. Charles is. For those of you who have completed this, can you give some advice where to go and how to go about doing this and what exactly to look for? Many thanks!

Jack Sunshot 06-10-2007 02:48 AM

Fort Charles is the fort on Port Royal. For the EITC soldiers, all you have to do is defeat and EITC something, be it a Grunt, Mercenary, Hired Gun, or whatever. Just as long as his suit is blue. Also, the place to find them, I only know of one, but it is fairly easy access. You run out of the town square in Tortuga through the exit that is to the right of the Faithful Bride tavern. You make a right turn, run a little, and then make a left turn into the jungle entrance. After you get in there, you run all the way to the back of the jungle, and you will see another cave entrance. Run inside it, and wait for the whole loading screen thing to go through it cycle. If you are in the right place, it will tell you that you are in the "Thieves Den". You run a little bit more, and on your right, there will be two EITC soldiers and a navy guard. And you can use your gun on these guys, but they are not passive like the skellies are. They will come after you like a disturbed hornet's nest. Good luck.

Red Bull 06-10-2007 04:57 PM

For the handkerchief task, you need to go and get the higher of the EITC in the cave in tortuga (Hired Gun or Mercenary).

EITC soilders are alwasy dressed in black, and i've only ever found them in the various caves on certain islands. (Tortuga is as said in above post, port royal has some deep in jungles/caves, remember there are more then one entrance to caves, on port royal, theres one left, one middle(if i remember right) and one far right, they are deep and have other entrances with in)

As far as defeating them, I done this 3 times, and always alone, I get some elixir potions and put them in f4 weapon slot, to help me further (dont leave taking this till last sec red bar health, as u will probs die before u get helath benefit)

It ia also good to remember that if you dont run and eventually get defeated, if u run back to that character and fight again, his health level stays as when u left off (as long as no one else fights them in the meantime).

It took me 3 deaths to kill mercenary and 2 on the hired gun lvl ones.

I havent yet had a task to fight EITC soldiers for any other task yet, but i spose for those when any EITC soldier will do, the grunts are probably ok to, and probs best chance to defeat in one go, especially with a couple of potions in hand
