I don't use any cause I cannot get online anymore. When I could get online I could not go out at sea and before then there was only the option to use the light sloop so there is your answer.
I usually use my War Frigate, primarily for the balance of power and speed, however I think I'm a better sailor with my War Sloop.
It's really more of a half and half sort of thing :D |
War Galleon, never leave home without it.
i only own a galleon but am saving up for a war galleon
War Galleon, mostly because it's the strongest ship I have...
I used a War Sloop for solitary purposes with the one pirate of mine that has one, a Frigate with a large and numerous crew for the two pirates of mine that have one, a Sloop for the two that have it, and, for all of them, a Light Sloop when I'm really prone to traveling where I can't warp.
I'm torn: hard to answer. |
I rely on speed, and firepower so for both, I mainly use my War Frigate.
war galleon ....................
SvS: Light Sloop
Sailing alone: War Galleon Sailing with crew to get treasure: War Galleon Sailing with crew on a quest: War Frigate |
War frigate
War Sloop for all excursions...
Sloop for quick travel when I don't want any unwanted entanglements, Frigate for taking on the ocean and holding more treasure; currently saving up for the War Sloop.

War galleon vs. War frigate: More Health
Faster More broadsides Holds more cargo |
Frigate...Soon to be War Frigate ;) Gotta love all those cannons!!
I use my war galleon almost exclusively, but I rarely sail with crew. I think it is clear that your activities are going to dictate which ship you prefer.
not even nearly difficult to awnser war galleon its fast, safe and lets not forget most brodsides and cargo room!
i think the war frigate is the best and i am saving up for one. it's pointy front is great for ramming speed.
The war sloop for leveling and the war frigate when i get tired and just want to sink them.
war galleon f gold, war frigate for just sinkin ship, lite sloop f svs, that my fleet on all 4 of my pirates.
War galleon more broadsides, holds more cargo, and a lot of health.
I use the one tht isn't sunk...lol
I have fallen in love with my War Frigate, the good old Sea Dragon.
This ship captures my heart because: 1- It has the strongest ramming speed which is great when you are facing two level 40s in a light sloop 2- It has so many cannons you can fire at the enemy on any angle 3- It has the strongest armor which is great for Ship PvP 4- It is intimidating to look at, and i love to cause intimidation 5- It is basically any power lovers dream and more. |
I like the War Galleon when it's just me and I need money, however, I prefer to use the War Frigate when I have a crew and/or want to kill the higher level ships
:12_1_138: |
My crew seems to prefer the cannon placement on the War frigate (excluding the top two when sails get in the way). However, they like the bigger hauls with the War Galleon. I personally like the way the Galleon maneuvers over the Frigate but feel safer in close combat on the War Frigate. Once again, I think it all depends on what you are trying to accomplish. I have all 3 of the War class ships and believe me they all get use. How about an 80,000 ship that has the best of everything? Robert Darkskull Pistols N Bladez :buds: |
I use the war sloop to go to islands because its fasts tor to kill weak ships. Galleon, soon to be War Galleon when I get more money for the cargo and broadsides basically money. Frigate, soon to be War Frigate for really strong ships and crews and Ramming Speed pwns. The max gold is 65,000 I think by the way so that can't happen unless they increase it.
Aye, i be usin' ma uuh...ship that you're aloud to by now with limitted access cause i had to stop paying for it. LOL

My War Sloop....Fast and manuverable
When I have moderate crew, war galleon.
When alone, war galleon. When in SvS, light sloop. After a boss battle, teaching someone who now has Leadership how to use it: war frigate (showy - all it is good for.) Questing? War galleon. Fun drive around the seas? War galleon. On my second pirate, I bought two war galleons before getting a war frigate (never did waste money on a war sloop.) When you are out with a good crew, getting colossus after colossus, taking occasional damage is a pain (it adds up.) Having a second identical ship was very handy at such times. Having a second war frigate is pointless - the war galleon is the better ship. The only thing a war frigate is good for, is showing off - "hey look, it has guns up front" whoop-de-do. With the addition of SvS, sailing itself has changed (for the worse) making the sloops worth noting for the first time. But still, I'd rather have two or three war galleons than anything else, for normal gameplay. The war galleon is just the best ship, IMHO. |
War Frigate, nothing better. I would use war galleon if someone neeed money, and war sloop if i was just sailing somewhere
I like using a War Frigate and I'll recruit random levels of crew mates. I sail the boat with computer one and I'll man the upper front right cannon. So yes I do know about the sail blindness. The way around this is when you are within range in front, retract the sail and then re sail again. Once you do ram speed or full sail it will go back up and even some hard turns seem to bring it up.
What I don't like about the War Galleons is from a crew mans point of view they are somewhat blind and can't see in front real good. I say why stop at 80000 for the next ship why not go 160000 or even 200000 for the next one. Or do a ship with cannons below deck that people can man. |
I use my war sloop the most mainly because it is very fast and manuverable. I can sink most high level ships and only recieve a little damage.:)
I use my War Frigate :)
I love it! |
Light Sloop for fast travel, Frigate for crews (or sometimes War Sloop for the same purpose, if the crew is lower powered), War Sloop for all else (on the one pirate that has one).

War Frigate

Most of the time people are sailing for 2 purposes, gold/plunder, and quest requirements. The War Galleon holds more than all of them allowing you to stay out longer, get more gold/plunder and get more of those quest requirements before having to go in. 2 Reasons to use a War Frigate (IMO). You need the extra firepower/strength to be able to survive (my war galleon seldom EVER sinks anymore unless its a glitch). And you want those front cannons for your crew. The front cannons on a War Frigate are cool, but have you noticed that if your on the front cannon, and your crewmate is at the wheel, that you do not get crew bonus? I have a War Frigate but its usually my LAST choice, because it fills up too quickly. Quote:
You cannot obtain more than that on any one pirate! |
War Galleon...I find it is the easiert for me to steer and is sturdy enuff to withstand the hits she takes. I own a war frigate but it sits in dock growing barnacles...lol Just keep it for Krewe events if needed. Besides not sure how to drive the frigate even though I have read POTCO articles on the said navigation. Galleon is the best for excursion by meself...

Aye, my War galleon is my favorite ship. It has the fire power and the big cargo bay that I love!!
People seem to hate on the Frigates, but I love them! I only have a regular Frigate (I'm new to the game, don't shoot!), but I'll eventually have a War Frigate. My friend does have a War Frigate though, and we tend to have fun going out on trips with that. I really love those front cannons. I know what you mean about troublesome crews though. We've been setting public on lately for kicks, and we'll have several people come aboard. Everything is fine until we're heading to port. My friend's ship will come out of several battles with barely a scratch on it, but the guys who joined us will randomly shoot things on the way back and next thing you know, we'll have Dreadnaughts and other things beating the heck out of us. My friend's once-scratchless-War Frigate becomes a nice little comet with all the fire that's on it! All because of people who randomly shoot things and grab the attention of the other ships on the way back. =( So yes, I do agree that it can take quite a beating, but if you can maneuver it well in a battle, you'll have fun with it. My friend had a War Galleon, but we both hated it, so she sold it and got a War Frigate, and we've been loving it. Everyone has their own opinions though! That's why they make different ships, to suit different people's needs. :)

I prefer my War Frigates for general plundering and combat. And for training up cannoneers. When I go out after flagships I take one of the War Galleons
