A friend showed me this the other night. I ended up getting pretty high up but I don't know exactly how I did it. I can list a few steps though. First sail a war galleon out to the end of the world, then get out and walk until the screen goes black. When it does, teleport back to Tortuga and talk to an NPC. I recommend talking to Scarlet. If you press spacebar you will float in the air but you'll have to teleport bat to Tortuga to get back on the ground. Somehow I ended up kind of high up without jumping. I just walked from town being under the ground, towards the dock on the shipwright side, and it was as though I climbed some stairs. Maybe someone else here can shed some more light on this. Sorry, that's all I know.

I just posted an answer to this in the thread that Alex started. I don't know much on how to do it but I do know a few steps that may help.

Search this forum, this has been described several times, im sure you'll find it. :)

Captain Seaford 07-23-2008 07:15 PM

I did it once.

I'll go in order

First of all, go on a war galleon.
Sail to the edge of the world, BY TORTUGA, either side. (my friend said something about outcast isle, but thats nowhere near tortuga)
then, get off the ship and keep running until your screen turns black.
when it does, teleport to the third server.

Hopefully that works, i didnt see what my friend did, or where he went when he did it.

unclear

when you say get off the ship...just how does one get off the ship?

Nautical Nattie 07-23-2008 08:47 PM

I think it's only on a war Galleon. You go on one of the top cannons (shift), then press Esc and then run out the side next to the cannon and you should be able to run around outside the ship.

When you've sailed to the end of the world, you find a huge waterfall, and you sail off and ... ok no.. j/k

You get a message that says youve reached the end of the world and should turn around.

Captain Seaford 07-24-2008 01:22 AM

yeah, then u go on the cannon, the one on top, and right when u get off walk a little to the left and go forward. then keep walking til ur screen goes black

and, by the way,

when ur sailing, its to the right of rum runners.

then tp to the third server
yes, u can change servers and it will still work

really??? didn't know that! I must try this :dancetl6:

It might interest you to know that this glitch stays with you no matter where you teleport to. If you teleport to another island though, you'll fall back down below like you do in Tortuga. If you tp to a friend on the other hand, you'll be on ground surface.

I do this glitch from my War Frigate all the time. Front left cannon 'man overboard' works too.

Gabyta 07-24-2008 02:30 AM

I can't believe that I've been member of the forums for a long time and I never discovered (read) a thread about this glitch :pirate2do0:

Hehe, people are stingy and secretive when it comes to some of the glitches. I understand they don't want them to be fixed, but there are certain bugs that Disney just won't attend to because they don't really cheat gameplay.

This is probably one of them that's low priority.

What glitches do they fix? They all cheat gameplay, one way or another. It would be great if they would fix the ones that totally ruin the game playing experience - like idiots shooting flagships then sailing away (all the rage for the last two or three weeks.) If you don't board a flagship before the time runs out, you should be in jail and lose any cargo you had. Anything else is a glitch. If you made it sink using firebrand, you should go to jail (and your pirate should remain groggy for eternity!)

Trying to shoot cannons at targets that run away is no fun at all. Sailing after ships that don't shoot you but do run away, is just pathetic. (And takes about five times longer just to sink a ship.)

It would be great if they fixed the invisible/invulnerable glitches. If you've ever encountered an invisible player, you know what an astronomically miserable experience it is. Kingshead, Fort Charles, Tormenta...well, probably everywhere - but those are the worst.

It would be really nice if they prevented the PvP skeleton glitch on Abassa. The criminally minded miscreant gang members there have a certain future in a real jail, given what they are learning from this game. But that aside, the lag-storms they cause there, make most of my friends disconnect if they just "go to" me, if I'm on Tortuga, Abassa. (What, again, is the purpose of allowing the skeleton glitch? Free infinite ammo?) It would also be nice to have Tortuga Abassa be for unlimited only - crewing up for boss battles only. It is not uncommon to spend half an hour getting a crew set up for a ten to fifteen minute boss battle.

It would be really nice if a ships captain could make someone walk the plank, or keelhaul them.

It would be nice if the "steerageway" glitch were fixed, so that you couldn't turn your boat without moving. It would be nice if you couldn't move your boat backwards (or if you did, you had a ten second delay while the oars come out, from the flaps where the broadside cannons normally fire from.) If those things were fixed, they wouldn't have to keep making the enemy boats sail three times faster every couple weeks.

Yes, it is a fun game overall. But there are a lot of things they inexplicably don't fix. Yes, they affect game play - sometimes a lot. They can't all be for programmers (they would just tweak the server datasets, after all) so what gives? Is it still an "Easter Egg" when it makes the game bad for everyone nearby?

Katie Scarlett 07-24-2008 06:29 AM

You can reach the end of the world from anywhere, I believe. I choose to sail from Cuba because it's closer to the edge to the map.

Ok, may be going a bit far here on penalties for 'not' boarding. Fix the glitch, but no reason to add penalties, it is a game afterall. I would imagine this will get fixed once they get privateering live. It was an old glitch, they fixed it, and then it came back. They fixed it before, they'll fix it again.

I agree they should be fixed, but its not fair really to reflect glitchers with bad experiences. I'll bet I have 3 stories regarding regular rude pirates to each of your 1 glitcher rude pirate situations. I've encountered glitchers numerous times, I have on occasion been one that people 'being' encountered. Not only have I never had a bad experience with one, but I myself have never caused anyone any problems in that mode, to be honest I have always avoided most other pirates when in that mode.

Funny you should mention it, this is one glitch they are constantly trying to fix. They are well aware of it. Last I heard it no longer provides any advantages (no more unlimited ammo supposedly). And latest test notes indicate its been fixed (again). This is an example of a glitch they are trying to fix.

I admit I was surprised when the ship went backwards. But sailing ships 'can' turn without moving forward, although it generally involves a little forward motion. Also deploying oars, would allow it as well. The games turning is not realistic, but then again its a game, and a kids game at that, cant make it too hard to control.

It seems to me that they are focusing on glitchs that cause issues with the servers themselves (like the skeleton glitch), and with new content. I dont see any glitchs effecting any game play to the level or degree you implicate, although perhaps thats because I dont connect to Abassa. Abassa is always the busiest which is a 'sign' to any experienced online gamer there could be lag issues. Any server constantly at capacity is likely to have some.

There are lots of glitchs, some do get fixed, some dont. I think the ones that are causing problems with game play (only the skeleton glitch that im aware of) are being addressed or at least worked on. Some are insignificant in thier overall impact so they leave them (presumably to be fixed later when they are fine tuning everything). As far as glitchers being rude, doesnt take a glitch to make a pirate rude. There are more rude non-glitching pirates, than there are rude glitching pirates. The ones glitching that are being rude, would likely be rude when they werent glitching as well.

Nautical Nattie 07-24-2008 01:57 PM

I usually teleport to Cuba and sail left, it works that way too
