Any Ideas for new weapons and skills
Hi all
Just wondering if any of you creative people out there have any ideas for new weapons or skills pirates of the caribbean online could add to the game to make it better. As much as I try I can't think of any so please post your Ideas. |
I would just like to see what we are suppose to have in the first place, before they start trying to add things.
For instance if we put 5 points in blade instinct, barrage, spirt mastery, than we should get the full 25%. We don't need upgrade in weapons, just what they should do for what we have spent points in. Viper nest and some of these things should not be capped at 300 - 600, we should get the full 25% and something like 319 - 636. Its hard to think much a head, when ya don't get what you put your points in things now. |
I really wonder if we need new weapons at all. One problem with this game is that it becomes a full-time "weapons maintenance" exercise if you want to keep your pirate capable and balanced.
I think they need to put more opportunities to gain skill points in the quests. Maybe some integrated story-line training sessions like the one we initially got for the "sweep" cutlass skill. I think the games needs some balancing so it doesn't become an repetitive boring slash & boom fest as people try to keep their weapons leveled. There ought to be other ways to get skills, that are more interesting to do... in my opinion. |

toon town approach
I hate grenades...there i said it! LOL
In the next month i will have mastered my pirate and all weapons...except grenades...which i'll probably get to lvl 16 or so. I honestly can't see me tossing grenades for an additional month just to "totally" master my pirate. If i remember correctly in toon town, at certain levels of the game you were given a choice between two gags to add. In the end there was always 1 gag more than you could have so you would end up choosing what you wanted and leaving one off. If we had this choice in POTCO i would choose to not get the grenades. If another skill was offered (hand to hand combat, shotgun, rifle, etc) we could then choose what weapons to carry and leave off one we didn't. So for example, when you get to level 20, instead having to do the grenade quest you could choose to do that one or a different weapon quest. It was nice in toon town because you could align your friends based on what skills they have to complement yours. anyway, my two dubloons... |
I would like to see(if they added in a jolly rogers story quest) that after defeating jolly roger if you can keep his "Multi purpose pistol".
I think that looks like a very good weapon. |
aye when u finish ur quest. only weapons lefl to do. but it keep u doing somthing in the game even if it get boring. 3 master pirates down 1 to go

As far as weapons go, they've covered a pretty wide spectrum already. Solely thinking about the technology available to pirates in the ages during which the game was set, I think they've covered everything really possible (and added in the voodoo stuff for good measure *cough*)
Oh, except scimitars. Yay for scimmys!!!!!! But their mechanics would probably just double the cutlass' or dagger's, so it'd kind of be a waste of time. Heh.... they should add a belaying pin, just for fun. Can you imagine the skills? "Belay!" "Thwack!" "Poke in the gut!" |
the only complaint i have is how unreal the pistols are if you see the movies pistols kill on contact they dont take 30 or 40 shots to kill something

Oh, weapons..
There are a lot of them I think we should have that we dont, but I dont think we will get them.. Mace, Axes, Rams, Rifles, Bayonets, Spears, Flails, Combat Deer Horns, Machete, Archery Sets, and other weapons would be nice.. |

Lets see the Shortcut Buttons already filled up by now XD F1: Sword F2: Gun F3: Voodoo Doll F4: Dagger F5: Staff and F6, F7, and F8 are all free soo we just need like 3 weapons.. I think we should be able to have Snipers for both Basic and Unlimited Members! The Sniper has a long gun reach. Knifes! and Hand-To-Hand Combat. Sniper Skills:: Snipe Shot - 40X Close-Up - The Silver Bullet (Kills All Undead Instantly) Knife Skills:: Stab - Cut - Stab-And-Throw (Stab them and throw them anywhere!) - Jump-Slash (You jump up and pounce on the Enemy and stab him) Hand-To-Hand Skills:: Punch - Pick-Up And Punch - Stealth-Grab (You grab the Enemy and you can move while holding the enemy and if you have the Knife you can use Cut and you will cut him and he will fall on the floor) :) :buds: |

Are NOT weapons of the pirate era, these are more weapons sprung from 'midevil times' era, of King Arthur and knights, etc.. ;) Thats ok I guess, but dont seem to fit the genre. The "Cat o nine tails" was the 'mace' of the pirate era. Rifles, Bayonets, Machete... these they definately had. Actually im not even sure what a combat deer horn is, they used these to hold black powder for reloading weapons, or for horns with thier battle cry. Dont think they actually used them as weapons (could be wrong). If there is any one weapon thats missing from the game... its hand to hand combat. |
oooh maybe if you win blackjack or poker, you get cards you can throw at people!!!! lol
