Getting knocked around

I went into the Catacombs behind the gypsy in Padre Del Fuego the other day to begin the Padre transport totem quest. When I started battling the Undead Brigands, Grenadiers, Gyspies etc. I constantly got knocked around. Whenever they'd use their weapon against me it would shove me across the room. I couldn't use my cutlass at all since I'd constantly get shoved out of range, only the doll would work for me.

Since it was my first time there I thought that was just the way things worked in that cave. Made killing the bad guys really hard. But when I went over to Ft. Dundee the same thing happend, so I realized it was a bug and restarted and the problem went away.

Anyone else see this kind of thing?

Yes - the same thing has been happening to me the past few days.

Very annoying, especially when I'm on my low level pirate - instant jail time :)

i have encountered it in the tormenta cave. really annoying. the way i saw it, it was like fighting on ice skates. you'd get hit and slide 6 feet to the left.

however i haven't had it happen in several weeks. tough enough fighting seabeards but when they shove you around too that ain't right. But when the flying ones shove you around...run for the exit.:laughks2:

Its latency issues you have to relog to fix it. Sometimes changing servers does too.

YES! mainly in tormenta dealing with the big boys. I attacking a seabeard then i get flung across the room and run into o molusk then flinged again and hit a unrchinfist its really annoying.

Chris, that sounds a bit like pinball. :laughks2:

Yeah, I hate that. Especially if I'm fighting a high level. Also...someone attuned me and i was sliding around, not in different places, just sliding backwards. They need to get that fixed!

Dr. Zeppers 07-18-2008 07:05 PM

I have had this happen on occasion. A complete restart of the game client has always resolved it though. Definately annoying when it happens, if you dont relog you cant get anything done!

Do you have any idea what latency is? The server being confused is a server bug, not network latency. The fact that logging out solves it, proves that it is not a latency issue, nor a latency cause.

Ed that is what the guys at Disney told me it was so do not need to get all high tech here.

Ed, these are fair/accurate words, but not targeting those actually guilty of stating/using them as an explanation for the problem.

The answer of "Latency" is the standard response from a Disney technical support person when they do not have any other immediate answer to offer.

Perhaps they could learn from your statement. ;)

I have enjoyed the same "skating" issues. There again especially with either the dagger or healing with the doll. Unfortunatly usually if I don't try to heal n e body with the doll it doesn't occur.

Nautical Nattie 07-30-2008 04:53 AM

I've had that weird sliding/skating thing happen to me all the time when im on my guildmasters ship and he uses ram speed or full sail, i get knocked around the ship, never fighting enemies though, and strangely only when my GM sails. lol :)

AdmiralSavvy 07-30-2008 06:07 AM

If it's a Guildmaster's fault, I recommend none of you sailing with me. LOL

Yeah I haven't had this problem in a while, the only time it happened to me was in PvP when I was using my staff, it might have made my opponents really wonder. ;)

Nautical Nattie 07-31-2008 05:53 AM

lol that must have been a fun pvp!

lostinthelab 08-01-2008 06:27 PM

I finally experienced this pinball problem. Last night on Rumrunners one of the giant crabs was able to push me all over. Well, that is until I killed it. It would have been more annoying had it been a higher level enemy; I probably would have wound up dead.

Has anyone else noticed that every time they "improve" the game that it gets harder and harder to play for actual story line or weapon upgrade quests?
