Spongebob's rating is it E or M

For some reason i would rate this show T or M the reason i would rate a childrens show this rating is because of the following

Violence punching
Neudity sponge and pat and squid having no clothes on
Blood and Gore sponges brain

this show is more for teens

sammyh 07-12-2008 11:56 PM

what? lol. m rated spongebob? spongebob would be cussing and shooting people with machine guns and flamethrowers. geez... m rated spongebo...b

IsabelleNorrington 07-13-2008 01:16 AM

"Neudity sponge and pat and squid having no clothes on"

Well they ARE sea creatures after all. Sea creatures dont wear clothes....

unless they are part of Davy Jones crew....

Lol. I just think spongebob is foolish. It like brainwashes kids. It's consumed my sister.

I've been watching this show for years. {{I'm not part of OLD FARTS EXTREME and I'm not old either..}} And What Violence punching? Blood and Gore?? Sponges Brain?? How is a brain bloody?? Our brain is covered it brain goo!! They don't have the same anatomy as us.. and if it was M-Rated spongebob would be some big time devil :skull: but he ain't SO BACK OFFF n00b!!!

P.S:::: Sorry BUT BACK OFF n00b!! BACK OFF DARN SPONGEY! GOT THAT!!!

P.SSS:::::: SORRY!! Spongebob is my role motal!

AdmiralSavvy 07-13-2008 03:33 AM

Heh heh heh, Rated M Spongebob, when did they ever have blood and gore anyway? And I agree that they are sea creatures and aren't supposed to have clothes on anyway. I never seen any violent punching in my years of watching Spongebob either. ;)

Dr. Zeppers 07-13-2008 04:06 AM

I've seen this program before, and I am all of what carnage mentioned. hehe

I've enjoyed it the few times I have watched it, of course, I only chose it when I was in that sort of mood. :)

The images referenced I dont see as an issue as much as the actions that placed the characters into such predicaments. Violence is violence even if its fluffed up with cartoon imagination. ;)

Jade Macbones 07-13-2008 12:33 PM

I would rate it e this is the best show

are u havin fun yet mr.crabs

narutocooper 07-13-2008 01:54 PM

lol rated m rofl well i would rate e but in one ep there wa blood( spongebob kept poking squidwards heart while he was having surgery)

kmmmonke 07-13-2008 02:48 PM

M rated? No. E rated? Yes.

Blood? Gore? None of it. Maybe a picture of his brain, and that's it. But that's not bloody.

Violence? Maybe a little CARTOON Violence, but that's everywhere, even in games for kids.

Nuedity? Well I don't see my sponge walking around with clothes. Nor do I see a starfish with a business suit on.

e is not the right rating at the very least it would be rated E10+

Maximvs 07-13-2008 03:21 PM

I hate to say it - but if your going to rate SB with an (T)een or (M)ature, then you had better start rating many Disney Cartoons of Mickey, Mini and Goofy (there are many shorts with bonks on the head, eyes pop out) and Warner Bros Cartoons with Bugs, Roadrunner, Coyote... (do I need to mention how many times Bugs has been shot at by Porky Pig?)

No, I do not think SB deserves a T or M rating... there are shows that do (Family Guy for example) - but SB is not one of them.

As I recall, he made a noise like a squeaky toy when he was punched.

Aha I found a quote: "I'm absorbing his blows like I'm made of some sort of spongy material." :laughks2:

He's a sponge, dude, meaning that when Flatz did hit him, there wasn't any physical damage done to SB what so ever because he can absorb all of the blows.. :laughks2:

Taking this a bit serious, aren't you? This might be what he is talking about. And why are you insulting OFX?
I don't agree for rating it M, but I think it is a bad influence on the little kids watching it. Sorry, just my opinion.

Tagerr 07-14-2008 12:56 AM

Umm.. I really don't think that there would be a teenager version of spongebob, that would be kind of weird.. and the parents would think the spongebob company people have gone crazy and make them stop watching the kid version. Just my opinion.

Swash 09-10-2008 10:17 PM

Sponge is a bad influece but it is my favorite show.

Spongebob isn't a bad influence. If it was, Spongebob wouldn't be the massive hit it is, and parents wouldn't let such young kids watch it.

All presented with the naivity of a sponge.... literally.

Humorous to some.
Entertaining to many.
Offensive to a few.

All television programs should be monitored/reviewed by parents before letting thier children watch them. Todays world is just to crazy.

Exactly it is a bad influence but at the same time a good influence.

Chris 09-11-2008 09:00 PM

o_O Leave the sponge alone he is funny now most kids under 10 wont even know what he really means now i wont rant on sponge bob but the rest of cartonn network and nick now that my friends is true tv garbage (no offence) except scooby doo and sponge bob.

Sponge is the GREATEST show on tv but it is pretty dirty.

AR_FiberNeoPirate 09-11-2008 11:29 PM

i'm sorry but- double u- tee- eff? Are you bloomin joking? Spongebob is the LEAST of our problems. It's shows like the rest of the shows on "Nick", or the Disney Channel, or "ABC Family," "a whole new kind of family." When half of that stuff isn't even for family! Not to mention channel 58! This is why these people need to stop bein so bloody stupid, and take off these other shows and stop acting like it's not influencing or infriding/ violence. JP LOL. No seriously. =/
lol not trying to be rude ;) i repect your opinion honestly, you'd have to hear the way i said all of this :) :D

Spongebob is really in my opinion one of the only good cartoons for children on TV. The have taken away all of the good cartoons that when i was small would make me watch them for hours. But now, Family Guy and Comedy Central are really my only friends on TV. Everybody else is on my waiting list.
But getting back on topic, i respect your opinion about Spongebob, but in my eyes, it is not really a bad influence, because after all, all of these aspects are not only fluffed up with being a cartoon, but Spongebob means no real harm, but only is trying to keep good child cartoons alive. Live on Sponge, live on.

Swash 09-11-2008 11:39 PM

I think they should get rid of Wonder pets and all those baby shows cause in the morning there is practically NOTHING TO WATCH.

Exactly. If they want to put all of those baby shows on, why don't they make an extra channel made just for those shows?

i knoooooooww! What happened/ to the OLD Nick- see! I forgot how to spell it. oh yea, OUR generation came around. And our generation had a GENERATION, which have *clears throat* SHORT ATTENTION SPANS. (no offense, not knockin people with that problem ;)) I'm talkin' about ALLL THe time. And it's not that the were BORN with that problem, it's just that they've DEVELOPED/ that problem over time because of the things they've watched, and different things that are too big of a topic to discuss right now- lol. Sorry- don't get me started on this one. LOL

Nick at nite can stay but baby nick and playhouse disney can leave.

Bartholomew Foulsteel 09-12-2008 04:04 AM

Spongebob should be X-RATED!

Check out the beginning of the "Wormy" episode and you'll see why....

Swash 09-12-2008 08:27 PM

OMG LOL Bart we get it lol.

Bartholomew Foulsteel 09-12-2008 10:37 PM

Actually, my mistake. I actually meant "Your Shoe's Untied"

Watch the beginning and see.

Stormhawk 09-25-2008 11:01 PM

What... rated M!lol You would have to be extremely, extremely, extremely, extremely, extremely, extremely, extremely, extremely sensitive to be affected by any violence or anything in Spongebob.:)

Mr.LoveLocket 09-25-2008 11:17 PM

Its rated E for everyone :o

LOL. =P

Sorry...but the way you put it was funny. :psmiley35:

But anyway...no...I think Spongebob should stay rated E. [OT:I'm a teen and I still love that show! xD]
My little brothers watch it too, and trust me, if it was as violent as you think it is, my parents wouldn't let them watch it.

Maximvs 09-28-2008 01:11 AM

Ya know - I watched Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd and Ninja Turtles... and amazing I didn't end up a serial killer! :D

I couldn't believe that there were parents years later that actually wanted to rate Bugs Bunny... common! Get a real life!

Now - there ARE cartoons (espically late at night) which I can't believe they call cartoons... these should be regulated.

But SpongeBob? Once again stop looking at it as an adult - a child only see the humour of a yellow sponge and his quirky saying - not anaylizes his brains or that he has no pants on...

Sometimes - the innocents of the mind is stipped away and the simple humour behind the action is lost, when thats all its was - a laugh.

tnt user 10-01-2008 08:54 PM

i disagree with m,MABY T,id prefere E10+

Swash 10-01-2008 09:22 PM

E10+ is about right.

Dr. Zeppers 10-01-2008 09:31 PM

I totally agree with Max.

Whats wrong with these cartoons?
Usually an adult over analyzing something.

Whats really wrong with cartoons these days? The reduction of frames often now used in animation. Cheaper/easier on the animators, but the results isnt as good.

I guess if one is going to pick apart every little piece of it though, one would have to go with some higher "rating" like rackat/swash mentioned perhaps. People seldom apply laws for the reasons they were intended anymore, and apply them wherever they can force thier ideas/will.

Leon Mcflint 10-01-2008 10:12 PM

I admit there is CARTOON E-RATED violence in it but nothing bad? Besides if Spongebob did actually do a bad broadcast, "Nickolodeon" would shut it down.
