Kingshead Glitch?

Yeah I saw this one person on kingshead totally invisible...so I asked how you do it and she just disappeared. Anyway, does anyone know how to do it? I'd love to upgrade my dagger.

You know, that one invisible invincibility glitch? I want to know the spot and how to do it.
Thanks

Wheelsim 07-08-2008 05:32 PM

Simple travel up all the way to the top of KH. Go into the jail have your dagger ready. Walk out of the jail and attack any hired gun or assasin with your dagger. once you attack them stand there. theyll walk a little and then start trowing attacks at you. When your health goes away you dont go back to jail youre simple invisible and invunarable to attacks.

And the Kingshead glitch goes public. ;)

I also don't select a weapon until after I leave the jail. Thats pretty much it, although I do one more step, but it may not be required.

Effects:
1. Invisible to other players (not enemies).
2. Invincible to enemies (They continue to do damage, but it has no effect on you).
3. Cannot TP away (says you cannot TP in jail)
4. Noone can TP to you (says your in jail)

You can change weapons, but you cannot put your weapon away.
Once you put your weapon away, you LOSE effects 1 & 2, but NOT 3 & 4.

To get rid of effects 3 & 4 you must logout and back in.

Captain Seaford 07-08-2008 06:04 PM

Thanks guys that rocks
Edit: Bleh is there any way to get out of kingshead? Or any other place to do it? Because when u leave kingshead u gotta go threw a door D: and that puts ur weapon away

CoolPirate 07-08-2008 08:15 PM

so you just go to the top of KH, like can you go in front of the jail? Then you die, and leave the jail with a weapon of your choice and you are invisible to other and invincible?

Captain Seaford 07-08-2008 08:53 PM

No you go all the way to the top of Kingshead, by the jail, go in it, take out a weapon, come out, attack an assassin or mercenary. Then you let them kill you or whatever.

but I'm wondering how you can sail and stuff and get to other places without your weapon being put away.

First, they could be Assasins or Mercenaries (not likely Hired Guns).
They will run away, and you will be attacked from nowhere and you die (but you dont).

You cannot, hence its called the Kingshead glitch. ;)

Which if your gonna use it, try not to abuse it.
Remember other people attacking your mobs can't see you, they arent guilty of helping/leeching/stealing reps if they dont know your even there.
If you use it to create mayhem for other pirates it just aint cool (not that anyone was going to).

Diego Birmingham 07-08-2008 11:23 PM

You MUST keep a weapon drawn at all times.

If you go through a door and come back it cancels the effect.

I find that I cannot damage any enemies until I have tried several. It may a timing thing, it may be a certain # of enemies. It may just be me. Anyway I use my doll and go around the top level until I can actually attune someone. Then I can switch to any weapon I want. It takes 5 or 6 enemies.

CoolPirate 07-08-2008 11:27 PM

Sorry im not on the computer that i have pirates on. But are you able to press F1 F2 etc. and not cancel the effect?

Yes, you can switch weapons using F1-F6 You can also use the scroll wheel of your mouse to scroll through weapons. This works because it changes from one weapon to another without 'disarming' your pirate. Any method you prefer of changing weapons should work, as long as you dont put one away, then select another.

Once weapons are put away... your no longer invisible/invincible, but your still stuck at KH unless you sail out, and then your TP is still broke until you relog. ;)

That isnt possible because it would say: "Sorry, you cannot teleport from jail."

Yeah I noticed that, too. They ran away and it took no damage off of them. I went down the stairs and came back up then it attacked.

Well what i though happens is that the enemy thinks youre not there but in order to see you they get farther away from you and then atack you with range daggers. If you just stay there they will go away from you and then attack you from a distance.

greatertater 07-09-2008 05:37 PM

the problem is, cant believe Im contributing this but, the problem is if u arent doing damage to ur enemy then there is a good chance you have not completed all the steps. I made that mistake once but now I know better. There are many glitches that have not even been discussed but there is probably a good reason for that. After all I finally figured out that if I'm cheating to win the game Im paying to play, the only person Im cheating is myself. If I just want to win by not playing, why bother paying not to play.

It isn't necessarily "cheating", because we aren't using any game trainers or legit packs. Cheating is when you hack into the game and make you invincible, or automatically make all your levels 25. This is a glitch in which POTC needs to fix.

they dont need to fix it, it helps us i leveled up my staff with the help of that glitch

Captain Seaford 07-10-2008 01:10 AM

LOL i know xD its awesome, isnt it?

Aliese 07-10-2008 03:29 AM

I will admit that I do like it for nades, because nades are a pain and annoying and I hate them.

That said, there really are a lot of decent spots to level everything else at without glitching, and without much difficulty, either.

Besides that, if I did glitch the whole time, my poor Seabeards would get lonely, and nobody likes a lonely Seabeard. :(

Swash 07-10-2008 03:35 AM

it doesnt work anymore

I agree.

As far as fixing of glitchs. They all should be fixed. As far as when? If they are not causing problems then they should be low priority and addressed last as things are polished.

Not having to fix a glitch because players make use of it, is well.. lol silly. If its not an intentional feature, its not meant to be, and unless they document it as an intentional feature, it should eventually be fixed. :)

They are fun to find, and play around with. There will always be more.

Some really fun ones are innocent enough, though, that I'd hate to see them go.

For example, the WG flying glitch - I look at it like an Easter Egg. There's no benefit to it in terms of gameplay, but it can be darn entertaining. :dancetl6:

They must have put it back then, I just tested it, and it worked as explained. My pirate is standing there taking an attack from a merc without me fighting back this whole post. hehe Now that i've tested it though, im logging out.

Oh, I agree, which is whey I figure ones that are not significant issues they may leave, at least until they polish it all up. Now if a glitch caused some instability, then it should be addressed more quickly. :)

all the way up the hill inside the fort?

Lol, yea not such a secret anymore ='( LOL. Now the only way to get all your rep is on a super quiet server. Besides, it's not like you can lvl up much anyways at Kinghead, other than the Assassins...which are only 3-4 in the whole entire place, & most of the time some ghost is already on the spawn pt of each of them attacking as soon as they appear....so.... "arggg" now it will just be worse, lol. Probably faster to lvl the normal way now if too many ghosts are attacking the same thing.

What I'm dying to know is the Tormenta one, coz at least you can use ur gun there! I know the Tormenta one exists coz I started attacking a Mollusk with my gun from a distance & all the sudden I noticed the Mollusk was being attacked by the cutlass the invisible person was using by that metal clashing sound & saw health pts was taking off, and we weren't near any walls or anything.

There's 2 jails, one is locked, totally weird, coz if you die, you don't get thrown in jail on Kinghead, but the last island you were on instead. The jail door mentioned is the one way at the top of the fort with the Assassin inside. If you do the jail glitch, you can kill the Assassin thru the jail cell LOL, so funny to see him running around wondering where he's being attacked from and then puts his hands on his hips hahaaha.

I don't believe one exists. Well...a bug did - I had people TP to me there and be invisible, but they were not invincible.

Huh? Guess you've never been to Tormenta...there aren't any doors as far as I know in the cave and I mentioned we weren't near any walls, because some people suspect it being a wall hack where you attack thru the wall or whatever, but we were in the middle of the room, soo.

And this was like about 2 wks ago, so recently, the bug mentioned earlier was from earlier this year.

Not to sound mean/rude or anything, your original post on this thread & later ones made me think you're a game designer of this game wondering what the glitch is so you could go fix it. And you still do...

Captain Seaford 07-13-2008 02:47 AM

By door, I meant that cave thing
and no, I'm not a game designer...
i was just curious, because i wanted to level up my weapons
...

Bartholomew Foulsteel 07-24-2008 03:16 AM

I ran into a charming young lad last night. He was invisible at Kingshead on the parade field. It seemed what he really wanted to do more than anything was taunt me. Apparantly, he seemed to think that it was really special to be able to single handedly take out 6 veterans on the parade field while invisible. I explained to him that I wasn't impressed but I would be if he would un-glitch and show me he can take them on singlehandedly. Funny little guy got all offended and started calling me names. I left but he followed me so I had to switch servers to get away from the fellow. I took a screenshot of the chat, but since I couldn't click on him to send a report in, how would one go about bringing this issue up to Big D?

Personally, I find it pretty sad to see people that need to glitch to get anywhere in the game. I mean really: what's the point?

The key word here is 'need', which noone needs to. Noone 'needs' to play the game at all. 'Need' it get anywhere in the game? This assumption has no fact to it, as most pirates glitching are doing it for fun, and not because they 'need' it to get anywhere in the game, such an assumption would likely be from frustration due to the described event.

'need' isnt really the right word, its a matter of 'want'.

Noone needs to, but they often want to because it can be entertaining to fool around with them. People want to, so they can a. break the monotony of the game. b. settle thier curiosities c. progress easily and unfortunately.. d. cause a ruckus. If your on your 3rd, 4th, 5th pirates... things are a bit monotonous.

Unfortunately some pirates use glitchs in (d) a nefarious unfriendly manner, such as your experience. But honestly, i've ran across more rude and unfriendly pirates playing the game normally than I have any pirate that was using a "glitch".

Aliese 07-24-2008 03:23 PM

Agreed.

Though, I will admit it is more annoying to have rep stolen by someone you can't see...

I've only had a few problems at Kings while working on nades - if someone's working the top I will find another server. Others won't.
They'll see that someone's there and glitch anyway, then wait while I get the enemies lured (which, as I'm sure a lot of you know, takes a decent amount of time) and then pop in and staff them.

I also had one issue on Outcast when I was working on Stumps (not glitched, though I did have my second pirate there), and someone came in and started shooting at my target. They then went through a wall, so they could shoot without taking damage. Now, the wall hack I have no problem with, but to glitch and steal enemies from someone who was there first is just rude.
