Black Screen?
 

Whenever I hit the button to enter a building such as the mansion my screen goes black and remains that way until i close and restart the game. Anyone else getting this or know how to fix it?

I get the same thing, ever since the ads were added to the top of the screen.

I'm thinking maybe uninstalling and reinstalling it? Has anyone tried that?

Me too. Mine started a few days after the first pressure test. I didn't notice that it was timed with them adding the ads to the top of the screen though.

I've reinstalled about three times, and yet I still can't even create a character.

You can try, but can't guarentee that it will work. We may just have to wait for them to update again.

I was having that problem, it was related to the character. I had to delete and start over.

where are u guys seeings ads on top of the screen? i must have them turned off..

Is there some way of getting out of the black screen without completly rebooting? I'm afraid all the rebooting isn't good for my system.

you don't have to reboot, just press the X in the upper right corner to shutdown pirates and relaunch it.

Also, hitting F12 seems to work for me. I have to characters and they're both stuck tryiny to get a new quest because I cant enter the buildings (2 different buildings) without the screen going black.


On another note, has anyone gotten a responce to any submitted bug reports? I've submitted about 20 bugs, but haven't received an ackowledgement yet.

I've gotten generic responses to bug reports, and that's all anyone will get, if that. Beta testing is about what the testers can do for the developers, not vise versa.

i've probably put in 50 bug reports, never got anything more than the automated responses! not that i expected too..

Well, at least a canned responce indicates they are at least receiveng the bug reports.

My screen goes completely black. I cant see the x. Also, how do you capture a screen shot to submit for bug report?

Press F9, it will be saved in the game folder.

I'm not even BOTHERING to give bug reports. But I have like 20 bugs TO report. LOL.

Whenever my game crashes, i send in the game report for analysis, along with a few sentences on the last thing i was doing when it crashed. Just a little update, I created a new character and it fixed this black screen of death.

I know that you may think "There are so many bugs, I'm sure Disney already knows about it. They'll fix it". But the truth is, some of those bugs may not be reported enough, and it won't be fixed.
The more reports about a bug, the sooner it will be fixed.
Report every bug you see, otherwise there is no use in you even being a Beta Tester. You're accepted into Beta for a reason, they want you to test the game and help make the game more stable so once they launch the game, they won't have any problems for their new players.

Anyway, I don't know why everyone seems to have this black screen problem, I only get that with VMK. But I haven't had one problem with a black screen on this game once. It's odd.

Im having the same Black Screen of death, i cant complete the task because I need to go into the mansion.

I will try the F12 and let you know.

It worked, but then all of my buttons disappeared, i could toggle back and forth between the black screen and the working no button screen.


Frustrating

I didn't get the black screen till after I completed the Quest to kill the eight navy gaurds and then return to Tortuga. Now when i enter the bar to go back to Gibbs, it is black. Another issue is walking under the water afterwards, can't get back in the boat.
