Black Bart's Krewe
 

Welcome aboard, mates! Announcing the new pirate guild, Black Bart's Krewe. Black Bart’s Krewe is dedicated to helping both the inexperienced and the experienced player work better together and to increase the enjoyment of playing for all POTCO players, whether Krewe members or not.


What the Krewe is Not:

• We arrr not a guild based on membership. Whether we have 3 Krewe members or 30, we exist to be the most professional and helpful group of POTCO players online.

• We arrr not a discriminating guild. All arrr welcome. It doesn’t matter what your age, color, religion, gender, national origin, level, or membership status is, you arrr welcome. You just have to follow our code guidelines.

• We arrr not here to help you level. We will help you level, get gold, complete quests, etc., but that is incidental to our mission.

Requirements to Join the Krewe:

• Be an upstanding player. Once you’ve demonstrated you live by the Krewe’s beliefs, you can either ask to join, or be asked to join.

• Be recommended by one of the Krewe Officers and approved by Black Bart himself. If they say you should be let in, you arrr in—unless another of the Krewe’s Officers or Bart have a valid reason to keep you out.

• Not be a member of another guild. If you are a member of another guild, you will have to leave them first.

Requirements to Remain a Krewe Member:

• Follow the Krewe Code Guidelines and Mission.

• Don’t attempt to recruit members out of the Krewe. You want to leave the Krewe and join another guild? That’s fine. No hard feelings. Just don’t try to recruit members from the Krewe while a Krewe member.

The Krewe Code:

• All arrr welcome—young, old, male, or female. Just follow our code guidelines.
• Be nice. It’s a game and there arrr kids present.
• No foul language or flaming.
• Help other guild members when asked (if you can).
• Help other non-guild players when you can (ask first).
• Share your experience.
• Communicate—use the chat function.
• If you arrr getting frustrated/upset/angry/sad on the inside, it’s time to take a break. Go outside and throw a ball. Or take a walk. Ride a bike. Just get away from the computer for a while.


General Gameplay Tips for New Players:

• Don’t run around just hacking and slashing. Ask if it’s okay to join in a fight before you jump in.
• Likewise, don’t just go around healing strangers willy-nilly. Ask if the other player needs help.
• When you arrr a crew member aboard another player’s ship, don’t take the helm unless asked, even if it’s vacant.
• Don’t jump onto another player’s ship uninvited. Ask first, then wait for permission.
• Don’t teleport another player unless asked or permission is given.
• Don’t shoot other players’ ships unless in a crew battle. It’s just annoying.
• When on board another player’s ship, don’t just shoot at everything that moves. Follow the Cap’n’s directions.


General Gameplay Tips for more experienced players:

• New doesn’t mean bad. It just means new. Help the new guys learn the ropes, don’t just throw them under the bus.
• The game is rated E for Everyone. That means there will be immature people online playing at the same time you arrr.
• It’s a GAME, for Pete’s sake! Let the new guys learn. Don’t forget what it was like for you when you were new and learning the ropes.
• Your “personal rules” arrr not official game rules. The new players don’t know your rules nor do they know what you will do to them if they break your rules. Take it easy.
• A kid can learn one of two things when he/she does something “wrong:”
o He can learn to do it right, thanks to positive support, encouragement, and by seeing it done correctly, or
o He can learn to quit. Which do you really want?

Although I haven't been playing P of C for an extensive time...i know what it's like to be new & lost. Black Bart was one of the few experienced players who reached out to me. Still learning myself, but I do like to help new players if possible. To be there for a novice helps me learn , also. Been there done that. The guild taught me that the game is not all about quests. A pirate needs to level up on weapons and skills...i don't think alot of new players realize this. And it is a game, so have fun being a priate. There are serious times, but even those should be in fun. I inform new guild members that we are like a family. We watch each others backs and aid each other when the occasions arise. So have fun everyone...relax and take a deep breath...Pirates is entertainment. And a great way to meet new people. We arrr all pirates at heart...AYE?:buds:

hey guys, it Redmence/Li Wildtimbers. This is my third guild that I have joined since starting this game. The first guild, I left b/c of an issue between my neice and another guild member. NEVER MESS WITH MY FAMILY. A friend jumped in to help my niece and she got booted by the guildmaster. I left to join her new guild and took some former guild members with us. Half of the old guild jumped ship when Redfury, Ironfury, and I left. We were the only ones everyone actully liked to tlak to and hang out with. B/C of me, the fishing game got started. Hey, can I help it if the ship's sails look like fishes. Been with the new guild for about a month, then the gm went awol/mia. The only ones on were me, Redfury, Ironfury, and Squidward. Got tired of being the only ones on and running the guild, so the four of us jumped ship (sry Kat). Happy to be with the Krewe and sailing with a great group of pirates. Thanx Bart for letting me and my family be apart of an awesome guild. I will try my best not to let you and the guild down.

The new additions to the Krewe have breathed a breath of fresh sea air into the life of the Krewe! Welcome aboard all! :dancetl6: I know that Lizzy has been not spending alot of time with you all...but the time I have has been full of fun! I apologize...but real life has been standing inthe way alot of late. Again welcome and enjoy!!!:buds:

No problems Lizzy--you've got real issues in your real life. The game and the Krewe are pastimes. There will always be a barstool for ye and a cup of rum. You have the Krewe's place of honor!

Had some fun with Admiral Savvy and Partners in Crime last night. The Krewe enjoyed the slaughter! A bit laggy at times, but not too bad on my 'puter. I only know of one of my crew-mate cannoneers who really couldn't deal with the lag, but she hung in and did the best she could--way to hang tough, Lizzy!
