Any new quest is a good quest:buds:

(even if it's limited time)

(in fact, especially if it's limited time)

Swash 06-13-2008 12:37 PM

i thinks its gonna involve the rocks in the ocean

Haffgrim 06-13-2008 12:40 PM

is it out yet?

Whitedog 06-13-2008 02:18 PM

yeah it's a little quest but for those leveling the reward is grrrrreat (to paraphrase a tiger).

League 06-13-2008 02:42 PM

Care to reveal anything more if possible? I don't care to know what the quest is: I want that to remain a surprise. But the reward is something a bit different...

Mr.LoveLocket 06-13-2008 02:43 PM

can anyone tell me the reward?

Whitedog 06-13-2008 03:22 PM

The quest is practically nothing. The reward is 500 gold... and 3 hours of double XP.

Mystdee 06-13-2008 03:26 PM

Oh great timing! I need just 4000 rep points to hit 30 not and then I can get my staff . . . .he he! This will help a bunch! whooo hoooo!! er um , I mean . . . .Arrrrrrrrr!! ;)

Are the points doubled for your overall notoriety or the weapon skills or both?

League 06-13-2008 04:04 PM

That's hard to balance between me and three pirates... yikes! Should the Gadflies not be on, I'll guess I'll be going with Artful and Dog.

Tangent 06-13-2008 04:43 PM

My stupid question of the day, since I haven't logged in to the game since last night, where do we get the quest?

I'll probably see it as soon as I log in, but from here at work I can't do that, I'm dying here.

abercrombiepirate 06-13-2008 05:13 PM

It won't let me add the quest?
it says i have to complete one of my fortune quests or something like that.
So i dropped some of my quests but it still won't let me do it.
Any help here?

Mr.LoveLocket 06-13-2008 05:43 PM

i think you need to finish your fortune quests. so it can let you.

abercrombiepirate 06-13-2008 05:48 PM

The tattoo and jewelery quests are fortune quests.. I'm not certain on any others, I'd think it was any of the non-pearl/weapon/treasure quests. I got the same response a while ago when I did mine (I like to do as many quests at one time as possible) You should finish a few of them up. Or if you have any small quests that you're doing, maybe you should start with them.

Tab1975 06-13-2008 08:55 PM

I'm at work and FREAKING.

How do we get the quest? Gotta visit somebody?

grayman 06-13-2008 09:26 PM

I'm really not that hopeful, but does the 2x Exp start as soon as you finish the quest, or can you activate it at a later time?

emmalemmalemma 06-13-2008 09:58 PM

You visit Jack Sparrow at the Rowdy Rooster on PR. It tells you when you log on.

Relax Tab!!!

You'll get a huge thing pop up when you connect telling you to Help Jack out.
You meet Jack at the Rowdy Rooster in Port Royal (where you will go and pick up the quest from him) :)

Ya can't miss it.. unless you login after the event is over.. in about 57hrs or so.. hehe.

When you finish the quest the timer starts to tick... (at least as I understand it, havent gotten there yet on purpose.. still at work).

Kat Sheffield 06-13-2008 11:24 PM

Go figure. So the quest itself takes about ten minutes. Really simple. But again, Disney rushed this one out. When Bronze John tells you to sink a Galleon to find Teague, Disney drops the ball once again and forgot to use their spell check. It's says "Gallion", lol. Not the first time they've done this and definitely not the last. But the part that really had me cracking up was this...

Because when he said that, I instantly got this picture in my mind...

Jason Castro from American Idol is Captain Teague!? Oh nos! :laughks2::laughks2::laughks2:

Diego Birmingham 06-13-2008 11:49 PM

Timer starts immediatly, but it runs on game time, not clock time. Go away and the timer is on hold.

Kat Sheffield 06-14-2008 12:29 AM

So the three hours only runs for when we are logged into the game? Is that right? Sign off and the three hours stops?

Nick 06-14-2008 12:37 AM

Nice, logs on....

I can confirm this. Tested it on my lv 40 pirate (doesnt get reps anyhow.. lol).

Logged out with 2hrs 58mins left of X2 reps.

Logged back in 10 minutes later, and still had 2hrs 58mins left of X2 reps.

Wheelsim 06-14-2008 03:06 AM

Alright 2x rep! Thanks POTC!

Wheelsim 06-14-2008 03:24 AM

I killed over 10 regular frigates and galleons and didnt get it then i kill one light galleon and finally got it.. i found that strange...

Cool, good to hear.

emmalemmalemma 06-14-2008 04:47 AM

I took out so many navy f&gs then I crewed up and it was the second ship.. Figures.. It says something about crewing, maybe that brings it easier?

Chris 06-14-2008 02:42 PM

idk bc i got it on my first try and i was all alone

Angel 06-14-2008 10:48 PM

I wonder if you get the double reps and log off, come back on Monday....will you still have the 3 hr timer?

Smash 06-15-2008 03:12 AM

Was I the only one disappointed that we didn't actually get to see Capt. Teague, or return to him? Instead it just says we got him from the ship, and that's it. :|

CaptainS 06-15-2008 02:51 PM

If I have time to get on, I am definitely going to work on this. :mickeypiratezd4:

Aye! There could been a little more to it than just that.
Like how about dropping him off somewhere and a little cut scene?

Think Disney, Think.

No - i think we should see at least a non-target character when we do those types of quests. It wouldn't be a big change and the programing is already there - like the townsfolk npcs

Dr. Zeppers 06-16-2008 05:28 PM

Wouild have been nice to have seen "Teague" but the licensing involved with Keith Richard's likeness was probably not worth it.

Tobias Blastpigge 06-19-2008 07:03 PM

I think Disney owns his likenss - as Teague; but then again maybe its extra; who knows? All i know is that if i have to capture somebody and then strand them on an island I want to see them.
