Best Vessel

I've heard alot of "Well Do You Want" Or "This is this and that has that" could people please just tell me what THE BEST boat is? :piratewheelgo2: Thanks!

AdmiralSavvy 06-05-2008 03:29 AM

Well it depends on how you sail, if you are the pirate who has a big crew a lot and wants a lot of firepower while in ship battles, this calls for the Frigate class ships. If your more of a solo sailor and like to collect a lot of loot before porting and rely on ship armor, not firepower, I recommend the galleon class. If you don't sink ships that much and usually just sail to get from point A to point B, the sloop class is the right choice. I also recommend you getting all 3 warships, for all your sailing needs.

There really is no best boat in my opinion. It depends on the type of captain.

War Galleon. I like the war galleon cause it carries the most cargo.

davy redflint 06-05-2008 04:30 AM

I have been sailing a Galleon I really like it Tried the Frigate, but like Galleon best . . . . FInally just moments ago just bought my War Galleon for the reasons Angel has mentioned and because I feel comfy on her!! :119:

nat sharkskull 06-05-2008 05:09 AM

I have a war sloop which I just purchased and it is alright. I like the frigate the best because of the front guns, also the captian has his own two cannons to shoot which are close by. I can sail up the back end of the ships and with a good crew get alot of loot. lol

The war sloop I think I should have saved my money but it is fast and does not get hit to much.

Bilgepump 06-05-2008 01:29 PM

When I go out sailing, I like to take my war galleon just because I can stay out longer, which means more loot.

I'll swap to the frigate when the galleon needs to be repaired and I don't feel like porting back to do it.

I also have a light sloop, because sometimes I feel like a mosquito.

Elizabeth Love Heart 06-05-2008 01:47 PM

I learned I love the top guns on my War Galleon. It shoots forward. Of course this means i have to find someone to drive my boat lol.

So WHat Is The Status On A War Galleon? Like How Much Cargo Does It Hold And How Much Crew? Could You Post A Few Pictures? Thanks!

Lucy 06-05-2008 03:01 PM

I prefer the war sloop

16 cargo, 10 crew, I believe.

And it's my favorite, too. :)

goldhammy 06-05-2008 06:37 PM

What about the galleon and frigate? They are in my range of prices. What is there status?

piratefan71495 06-05-2008 07:47 PM

Personally I think that the War Galleon is the best kind of ship, it is balanced out.
It has a good amount of guns, and great armor. That is my opinion, and it also depends on what you look for in a ship. If your looking for a fast ship with OK firepower go with the sloop.
Or if your looking for a ship with a lot of firepower go with the Frigate.
Good luck.

Ameila 06-05-2008 08:10 PM

I would get a frigate if those are your only choices.

Overall, I think War Galleon is the best ship..
I mean, the war frigate may be most expensive, but the war galleon has TONS of cargo space, a rather strong hull, and its got a totally awesome glitch!

What might that glitch be? :dancetl6:

Light Sloop verry fast and can escape anything

League 06-06-2008 01:47 AM

A War Galleon is for the far-distanced crew, the kind that can just sit and fire at a ship in the distance from the side. In broadside range, any ship approaching won't likely damage you a tad. A War Frigate has the ability to do this slightly better with more cannoneers, and slightly worse with less, though it does give the option to pursue a large ship, or to do this tact coming at you headlong. The War Sloop is for the more engaging sailor, not the crew reliant.

Choose your pick. The Light Sloop is the only other possible thing for consideration, and I digress.

cocomata 07-14-2008 08:00 PM

you should first by a war galleon since it can cary the most cargo you can easily get the money for a war frigate and if you want you can always by a war sloop for island hopping.

ps. if you want to get the money for the frigate real fast a 5 dotted treasure sense
really helps :jackhat:

fire monkey 07-18-2008 02:43 PM

i bought all the war ships and i say war frigate is much better than war galleon first war frigate has better armor and health 12600 war galleon 10800 health the war galleon has 12 broadside things the war frigate has 10 or 9 broadside things the war frigate has 4 front cannons and they all can be swiveled to a side and 6 mid deck cannons and 2 upper deck cannons and 2 on the poop deck close by for the captain to grab a cannon to the war galleon has 8 mid deck cannons and 2 poop deck cannons note the poop deck cannons on the war galleon are facing forward but arent much of use when captain is sailing because sails block view

Katie Scarlett 07-18-2008 03:17 PM

I love the frigates! I like all of the cannons that they offer. It's so much easier with a small crew to run from one cannon to the next to be able to get off shots. It will also hold more crew members, if you want to get a large crew going and still carry a nice cargo. :12_1_138:

The war galleon is nice if all you want is to load up on gold, which does come in handy when trying to recruit a crew. The problem is there are a lot of glitches with the war galleon that can be frustrating. My friends and I started calling them 'water bugs'. You'd be shooting one of the cannons on the main deck, then let go to switch sides, and end up floating over the water. :pirate61:
This can be fun when you WANT to do it, but not when your ship is under attack. You can't get back on deck without tping or pushing through a weak spot, either. And then you'll have to do it all over again. It makes for a fun glitch every once in a while, because you fly along beside the ship, but......:ss_pirate_ship:

As far as the specifics of each ship, it may be easier for you to actually go on the game to the shipwright and click on the different ones to compare them. It will bring up the specs for all of them, and you won't automatically buy them. You have to actually click on 'Buy'. :bookishfj7:

POTCO fan 07-22-2008 02:21 AM

ok this is what i think!!!!
you should use war galleon to solo becasue it has more broadsides then frigate but less cannons...
if you have a crew use the frigate and when you have a sloop use it too island hop hope this helped!

Tab1975 07-23-2008 08:00 PM

I'm in love with my galleon. But I want a frigate for ship quests.

Captian Quelzar 07-24-2008 09:10 AM

Get a war frigate first because they can get a bigger crew. End of story. After that get the other ships.

Yup I agree. I was trying to prove to a friend that the light sloop is faster than the war sloop. (Coz I was thinking about ditching my war sloop & buying the light sloop) Me & another friend had a race. I have 4 pts in windcatcher & took my war sloop. He had 1 pt in windcatcher & took his light sloop. GUESS WHO WON.

Pretty embarrassing! The light sloop got sooooo far ahead of me that it went off my map/compass!!!!!! And we did it all unskilled, no fullsail or ramming speed or anything, just relied on windcatcher.

So....having only 1 pt in windcather can outsail pretty much everyone we have also concluded if you are in a light sloop.

sovr cat 07-29-2008 07:33 AM

light sloop for omega fastness. war frigate for plunder. war galleon = not so good imo. maybe if your doing a giant raid with a guild

Commandero2468 07-29-2008 07:00 PM

I agree with admiralsavvy, i think that there is no best ship, just different ships to suit different needs

John Warpaine 07-29-2008 10:37 PM

Well, it really depends on how you sail, like Admiralsavvy said.

-If you like ducking in and out of shots so they don't hit you, stick with a sloop, light if you have patience, war if you like to get big jobs done quickly.

-If you like getting sunk, take a war galleon. ;) (Sorry, I don't know if this proves true with the new updates, but sailing before I'd sink like crazy when getting shot in the front.)

-In all seriousness, if you like to use broadsides as your primary means of sinking enemies and want the largest haul you can get, buy a war galleon, or the galleon of your best class.

-If you like to have a large crew and a balance of broadsides and speed, use the war frigate. If you can get a big crew together and sail on the frigate of your class, you can very easily sink ships faster with one of these than the frigate.

Like said, it depends. I prefer the sloop, but that doesn't mean it's the best ship for you. Experiment, explore, learn: that's the best way to go about choosing a ship.

Very interesting, my guild always sails a War Galleon, ive never had anything like that happen to me unless I forced it by TRYING to take advantage of a glitch. Only problem I have seen, and its happened on other ships, is getting stuck when the rest of the crew boards a flagship. I heard someone mention a glitch that had been fixed, yet i'd done what they said a billion times, and never once encountered a glitch. Im starting to think some of that is related to some peoples accounts/pirates somehow.

I agree with that line of reasoning as well.
